With the exception of a few tracks they recorded for the debut album, Ohio Express had no involvement in the recordings released under their name. Ohio Express was a touring band sent out on tour to represent & reproduce recordings made by Joey Levine & a band of studio musicians. This sort of thing went on in England too, with groups like White Plains & Edison Lighthouse, where impostor bands were sent out on tour, 'cause the session groups didn't want to tour.

This is a fake band that stole the name. Not one of them played with Ohio Express from '67 to '70. Maybe the name was not protected. I saw them two days ago and they were by far the worst band among six. (...and among the others were Dschingis Khan!)

The amount of playback used for this performance is likely record-breaking. I mean, I can even hear the drums from the playback in the moments the live drummer is very slightly off. I'm convinced he's the only one playing, and unnecessarily.
