Talked with Christopher Owens for a minute after a show a couple years ago. He was pretty much what you might expect him to be: Warm, gracious, patient and well-wishing.
thats whats interesting. these guys are sexy and can get away with this costello bag, musically. its their look or 'scene' if you will, that propelled them to their current heights of marketability. don't let anybody ever tell you that 'scene' isn't a huge determining factor in popularity. ambiguous drug use. ambiguous sexuality. this is cool. not that it hasn't been done many times before. good timing. if fastball had a clue they woulda started out by not naming their band fastball.
