  • Went back and watched this again after seeing the shotshow update a few weeks ago, decided to bring my cadet back to the 'stan with me from R&R- now everyone in my unit is ordering one for themselves :)

  • I had my grandads WW2 cadet he gave me when I was a kid, sadly lost it about 6 years ago in college. :( Will be getting another though. Keep up the good work brother.

  • do you know any thing about a pocket knife made by a company called AMEFA because iv got a amefa KL 75.

  • nice little collection

  • This is the perfect companion to a larger one handed tactical knife.

  • i have that solo =]

  • I love my Cadet. My friend made me a paracord lanyard that I put in the key ring. Before that I had it in my keychain. I literally forget it's there unless I think about it

  • Nice... I have 350 SAKs (Swiss Army Knives)... Love em!

  • that 6mm screwdriver head saved officer jareds life (matter of speech) in the trench!

  • My cadet won't stay out of my pocket. No matter what I try, it always pops up when I empty my pockets at night. I don't know what to do. I mean, I love that it's always there for me when I need it, but I can't help but feel guilty for not being totally faithful to it and carrying my Spydero Paramilitary 2 and Leatherman Juice CS4 at the same time with it.

  • Can't believe I did not see this video when the knives were more common. After watching this I noticed a classic in blue alox at my local sporting goods store and just had to have it.

  • can you hard test the bottle opener screw driver for me? because im not sure if i should use the screw driver incase i damage my climber model.

  • I once new an idiot who tried to snare a moose 2 years ago with industrial strengh steel cable. The meat was BLACK. Like tar. The moose had panicked and basically cooked its own muscles with adrenaline and body heat. i saw pictures and was there and there was for 10 ft. around the tree the set the snare up at no grass. I visited two weeks ago and there still isnt anything growing there.

  • hey nutnfancy how come you don't have the silver cadet?

  • @Nicholas1350 He does. He must have gotten it after he made this vid. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • Comment removed

  • @Nicholas1350 He does in the video, he spends half the time pointing with it ;)

  • Love your videos, Can you ever have enough Knifes?? NEVER! A+ bro

  • My uncle bought me my first swiss army knife when I was 15, A Victorinox Super Tinker, I've always wanted to get another knife, maybe a hiker spartan or cadet, but the damn problem with these knifes is they last longer than you could possibly imagine. My super tinker is with me wherever I go.

  • Wenger not Wagner

  • it's WENGER not WEGNER...

  • Victorinox SAK's feel solid, but wengers IMO do not feel as solidly built and even "cheap." I used to be a huge wenger fan but until I handled one of victorinox's larger SAK's, my vote goes to victorinox.

  • I can't take it anymore!!! It's spelled W-E-N-G-E-R, not W-E-G-N-E-R, therefore pronounced weng-er, not weg-ner. I'm about to go nukyelar!!! LOL :)

  • ....if only they had included an awl instead of the nail file (!!)...do people really need a portable nail file?

  • @timwaltham You're kidding, right? LOL :)

  • I have to agree with you about liking Victorinox over Wenger. The Victorinox just feels better for some reason

  • I remember seeing this vid a few years ago, going out and then purchasing a black cadet. It is my most frequent EDC out of any of my knives and I don't go anywhere with out it. Furthermore, DAMN they are now expensive.. I paid $25 bucks for the black one, now they are going for $120+..

  • wenger is a sister company of victorinox...

  • @MaartenTheBoss Owned by Victorinox now, actually.

  • the "Wegner"? ahah

  • oh sorry, i meant "Uegner" aahah

  • dude i love your vids.....but im sad to say i can no longer watch anymore of your reviews seeing how everytime time i get done watching one i have to go buy the knife...its because of you that im behind on my light bill haha

  • @gvegas1989 LOL Pay your bills first, then watch! =) -- Veri

  • The Victorinox cadet always stays in my boot great knife

  • I really love these. I'm trying to justify buying one after buying a PS4 and a SAK Signature. I'll probably get one in a few days. :]

  • Great review. This is one of my favorite SAKs. I carry mine every day.

  • There is also, the silver alox and there are two greens, O.D green and hunter green

  • @MayContainNutsTV i cant find a green one... could you possibly send me a link to a green cadet?

  • @EditC0D the Green model is now discontinued

  • The "alox" in the name stands for aluminium oxide.

  • I sent for the classic in lime green xD

  • i have the grey poket knife one

  • I bought 2, one for my pocket and one as a gift for my dad. it's my new favorite

  • Finally got around to getting my first Cadet. Had other SAKs in the past and just sort of stopped carrying them. Truth be told, I don't need this Cadet at all. I carry a Juice CS4 that has pretty much everything I need on it. But I just can't put the Cadet down, even though I don't need it. Put a nice edge on it that shaves hair on my Sharpmaker and I use it more than anything else. I love it. The can opener also fits phillips screws very well. I think I'll be carrying this a long time.

  • what would you recommend for a cadet :D

  • i was like yes i will buy it then this vid came out on 2008 shit

  • why do you have to be a "sicko" to appreciate knifes?

  • wanna see more knife reviews go to my channel in 1080p!!

  • 1080p swiss army knife reviews!!! just type ireviewknives

  • this is my first knife but i have the forest green, which is lighter than the one that you have...i love the knife but i noticed that the paint rubs off fairly easily. but it is a great knife and this is a GREAT review

  • There is also a silver coloured one! thumbs up so nutnfancy can see

  • do they still sell these?

  • I like the finish on the multitool.

  • hate swiss army nives they dont lock

  • @spader111click you dont need a lock for what the swiss army knife is capable of doing...

  • @spader111click

THere are several model os swiss army knives that lock. I have the victorinox adventurer with a liner lock

  • I believe it's Wenger not Wegner

  • @1969jmac Pronounced Venger :)

  • @RhodeCoD You are exactly right itsw pronunciation is with the W sounding like a V. Was just commenting on the correct wording it being enger instead of egner. But you are right it would be Venger

  • @1969jmac lmao in German VolksWagon if you used german Wording its FolksVagon :)

  • @1969jmac Sorry for second comment but i meant like if you had a German Accent

  • damn the file is useless, get a awl of mini saw in!!! the farmer and pionner is too fat....

  • cadets black, gun metal are 99 dollars on ebay

  • 17 bucks!? what the hell, i live in germany (neighbor country of switzerland), and i have to pay something like 21 euros (30 bucks) for a cadet. where did you get it for that price? that is damn-cheap!

  • @Kevinski1997 same here in canada, sucks " eh ".

  • Excellent knife

  • the can opener screwdriver is also a philips screwdriver

  • cant find these anymore, would pay alot..

  • wenger, not wegner :)

  • This video improved my QOL more than any other TNP video, by convincing me to pick up an Alox Cadet and EDC the little critter at all times.

So useful! I use every single tool on it, especially the blade, 2 screwdrivers, and the cap lifter.

Weighs nothing and takes up incredibly little space. Legal to carry darn near EVERYWHERE, even unfree places like Europe, China, and NYC!

I posted below that I wish they made one with a saw -- and that'd be cool -- but the Cadet is already brilliant.

  • @classof77 Victorinox farmer? don't remember off the top of my head if that's as small as this one, but it does come in alox.

  • @classof77

I believe that Victorinox farmer is similar cadet but with a saw.

  • @ryc3rz It is. It's larger, and lacks the nail tool, but if you need a woodsaw in an alox it is great. Personally, I have my cadet for general use about town and my farmer for when I'm doing agricultural work.

  • @classof77 dont quote me on this but i believe if you scour ebay and amazon you might be able to find a blue alox victorinox farmer which i believe has a saw and is the same saw

  • @classof77 i checked ebay for you and they only have silver alox the same goes for amazon

  • I could only get the normal Alox Cadet but love that gun metal grey one. They ooze quality

  • at the moment u can get em for £10 which ts $14 also i like stainless steel knives

  • at the moment u can get em for £10 which ts $14

  • i want a cadet

  • the dude does not need a blade pointer

  • I WOULD JUST GET A CHRISTOPHER REEVE KNIFE WITH A STONE WASHED ICE HARDENED BLADE MADE OUT OF S 30.1V 59-61 RC METAL WITH A SANDBLASTED TITANIUM ALLOY HANDLE AND A TITANIUM THUMB STUD YEAH I KNOW ITS NOT A MULTI-TOOL BUT ITS A BETTER BLADE.

  • @MRSWEATISH COOL I LOVE THAT MOVIE.

  • I just received my Cadet in the mail from Cutlery Shoppe. I am really impressed with the quality of this knife, especially at it's price point of $20. I haven't owed a Swiss Army knife in about 15 years. Glad to be a owner again. Can't wait to start "saving the day" with it!

  • @MRSWEATISH LOL.LIKE IN 127 HOURS?THATS KIND OF WERE I GUESSED IT FROM

  • @kingdomheartsfan108 haha yeah ;), im so psyched out by these knives since I saw that movie :)

  • The cap lifter works great for opening stubborn nuts of various varieties!

  • "Reviewing Swiss Army knives is like reviewing tennis shoes, everyone got em"

one of the greatest simalies that i've ever heard.

  • @gooyzit similes*

  • if i get trapped in a cliff with a boulder crushing my arm and I can't get out. Is it possible to cut you arm off with a swiss army spartan knife?

  • @MrSweatish We haven't tested it for that. =/ -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy someone did...

  • @MrSweatish a guy called aron ralston did it with a cheap chinese knife. It's certainly possible with a swiss army knife

  • @MrSweatish did you get that from the movie 127 hours lol?

  • @timberland1108 haha yeah ;)

  • @MrSweatish lol that was a good movie

  • @MrSweatish lol i would test but i like my arms:D

  • @MrSweatish haha, 127 Hours? Great movie btw. But you all know by now i guess ;)

  • @MrSweatish yes u can but it will rly rly suck.

  • @MrSweatish 127 hours...

  • @MrSweatish its not 127 hours :P

  • @MrSweatish Yes, but you need 127 hours to get the job done.

  • @Tigerbarb202 haha :)

  • @MrSweatish yeah I figured out that like 20 other people gave pretty much the same reply but only after I clicked the post button he he.

  • @MrSweatish I think the victorinox Farmer would be perfect for that.

  • @MrSweatish the one with the saw certainly can! Would show you but lost both arms to the sawwww...

  • Its Weng-er. Too many people call it wegner and it bothers me. haha.

  • Amazon is having a sale on all SA stuff until may 19th. Check it out.

  • Got me one and it is awesome thx for the review

  • I still have my Swiss Army Knife from the days of being a Boy Scout. I still carry it to this day. I have always liked with all of the toys as my mother would say. I know the cadet is smaller and lighter and it is cool looking. This time I will stick to the one I have had threw the years.

  • it is only silver now.... :(

  • why did they quit making the colored alox knives ? !

  • hey nutnfany how about a review "Swiss Army SoftGrip Geotec Tinker"

  • @2248mike he did that one

  • @stymye oh ill search that up

  • Just picked one up, outstanding recommendation, thank you!

  • i have the huntsman

    why do they need toothpics

  • @tw33t3rman Useful for cleaning the knife

  • @tw33t3rman So you can pick the win out of your teeth.

  • No Victorinox/Swiss Army knifes in my Targets. The only place i have found them at is at the Gun Shows. Also, there ain't no USMC Ka-Bars at my PX. They's only at the Gun Shows. Gun Shows are fun.

  • @jfkdjfd Jesus, where do you live buddy, that not american to have a Swiss made knife in any department store.

  • Michigan. After nearly 10 years of extreme liberal rule, what do you expect.

  • @jfkdjfd Dang, Oregon's been under liberal rule for almost twenty years yet there's a Swiss army knife in just about every other store.

  • lol thats the huntsman not the hiker

  • @ChRIs23696 lol the huntsman has a corkscrew instead of a philips driver

  • I saw your video and I thought I have to get one. But I didn't find a black one, so I purchased a silver one. But thank you

  • Nutn, if I were only to carry one SAK and no other knife for EDC, would you recommend this one (cadet) or the Classic model? If they ditched one of the knife blades on the cadet for a pair of scissors, it'd be the perfect edc SAK. That's the advantage the classic has over the cadet IMO is the scissors, what do you think? Thanks.

  • you do not have the silver cadet. I have one

  • @MyAnnie13 He has the silver one in his hand.

  • 18 but i carry one and i am 14 this is my brothers account : [)

  • how old do you have to be to have a swiss army knife?

  • I was going to buy one of these at £17 from amazon, but then i saw the victorinox tinker...

  • The cadet was my favourite edc, but lost an orange one and a green one. :(

  • nice collection!

  • Good old school review.

The Cadet would be a perfect EDC (for my needs) if it just included the saw. A modest serrated blade is so handy in the garden and backyard.

  • @classof77 Victorinox Farmer.... has a saw :)

  • You should buy swiss watches, it's a little bit more intresting than swiss knifes...

  • This knife kicks major butt I use it a lot. I keep 1 in my wallet with a hollowed out 5050 cord hanging out of my wallet were I can grab it. Just rocks

  • where can you find one of these in red? i cant find it!!!

  • i wish they had a cadet with a saw and scissors with the alox handle, that would be sick

  • @afrojew6969 They don't make an alox handled knife with scissors but they do make the "Farmer" model it has a saw and a awl.

  • noob multi tool

  • man this video is ooooolllllllddddddd schoooollll!!!

  • i dont have tennis shoes

  • whats the difference between a wenger and a victorinox? because i have a swiss knife with evo grip and has wenger written on it.

  • hey what is the name of the black Wegner you compare the Victorinox to at like 10:22? i have a similar one but instead of a phillips head i have a cork screw, its red, and on the main blade its half serrated and half non serrated. thanks

  • omg i have one in camo it is a spartan and slit through my finger like butter.

  • you have too much money nutnfancy you probaly spend like at least 7,000 dollars a year on your knive obbesion

  • forgive the stupid question but, do these Cadet knives have a good sharp blade?

  • @tigreslokos i have a similar swiss army knife and it cut a box like butter.

  • @tigreslokos yes they ship very sharp

  • you do love a lot of things

  • @supersaile Absolutely, never saw this man disliking any of his 95451773 knives...

  • Got two of these and an alox classic, gave the alox classic to my uncle today and one of these cadets to my Grandfather and he was over the moon! I kept one for myself in true green(not OD like yours). Got all 3 for NZ$60 which isn't bad, brand new without packaging. Used mine quite a bit already, got sick of carrying my Leatherman Juice XE6 on my keyring so hunted these down. Great review and Merry Christmas!

  • does the can opener also open bottles?

  • @nylecrane2k7 It has a bottle opener opposite mate.

  • @KiwiBowhunter thought it was on one of the two end attachments, thanks!

  • the cadet is back only silver but its back I gonna get it when it's in store in my town

  • YOU'VE heard of the safety blanket?yeah we all have, now can a victorinox knife keep me thogether?lead me through my way of thinking?or will i end up using it for wrong purposes?yeah i used to dream of having one, when i look at them i see so much estetic and stability,i couldn't feel the same for a gun,a knife is like an unconditional friend, you look for it in your drawer, there it is,its saying 'ok' take me,am useful just for you, cause i am yours, like a yes in a woman,i love victorinox, beautiful.

  • Can u do a review on the midnite minichamp its a 54mm model but is a fun knife.

  • hey nutnfancy nice reviev can you take the aluiminium handles off like the plastik ones? can you do a little video off this sry for my bad english im from german

  • what about reviewing the trailmaster militaria?

  • Is it still possible to find the cadet in red? I have been looking but haven't found anything. If anyone knows of a website or something i would be happy to know.

  • @subocito swiis army dot com under original sak's i think

  • WENGER NOT WEGNER

  • isnt Wegner and Victornox the same company?

  • @atreyuthegreat nope, victorinox was the first swiss army knife, but wegner was the first swiss army knife made for the actual swiss army

  • I love my cadet i just put a extra link on my watch with a pin and my cadet.

  • nice review!

And yea wenger is still going and they have some pretty cool big knifes :)

  • The other Cadet that looks like autumn orange is called copper

  • Comment removed

  • Im in love with the cadet, and im gonna get one soon. Should I also get the classic or does the cadet take the place of it? Anyones opinion is welcome.

  • i think they should have better steel in their knives i think they get dull very fast
