She can sing pretty well and it's a nice song, it's just a pity the words are such self-indulgent whiffle. Mind you other religions do the same thing, so it's no surprise that the god squad can find a lyrical band wagon to jump onto. No dude I'm a Christian and I totally get what you are saying. It's in the "worship" type genre where a lot of artist tend to sound the same and have similar lyrics. But that's the case with ALL large category genres. There are plenty of Christian hip hop, metal, indie, pop-punk (etc.) artists out there.

Indeed, and whatever media strikes a chord with the listener is OK in their ears. However to those listening dispassionately to the actual lyrics, they are buttock-clenchingly cheesy. My other observation is that lyrical hypotheses are delivered like facts in this song. Although beliefs (i.e. no evidence) and facts (proven stuff) are polar opposites, it is probably quite difficult not to evangalise given the likely audience.

Well perhaps arguments are pointless if you've not got an intelligent and well thought through response to make up the other half of the discussion. After years of being imprisoned by religious dogma, I came to realise that worship was the part of my life that was pointless, and the the god hypothesis was essentially unprovable. If an "all powerful" god needs glory from a song and praying minions, he must have a very weak ego indeed.

Well that's the problem really, god can do whatever he wants, and that convenient assumption is always used to explain everything religious. The essential problem is that creation believers are stuck with one uncomfortable problem, where did the creator come from? Religion became pointless for me when I fully understood this circular reference (i.e. god proving creation which in turn proves the existence of god). It doesn't explain anything, instead requiring acceptance of the unprovable

I think whats happened is you had a religion...herego you didn't really understand it all coz without the Holy spirit you cant. Religion and being a born-again christian are two different things, ones simply a religion where your pretty much stuck and the latter is a relationship with Jesus. and thats simply the only way to go. beginning of my reply is up top btw and anyway.. from tomorrow i went to a camp. i should say i was brought up in a Christian hme but didnt really know God then. and at the camp during worshp, i simply surrened i guess.. i took the opportunity, as i was searching i guess, and asked God to reveal himself to me.. and He did and it was truelly amzing! Thats how i know God is real..it was a true experiance. i dont wanna argue i just pray you'll be able to have that too..you just have to try.God bles

I appreciate your thought that praying for me is anything more than you getting your brain and emotions to respond in a way that you may interpret as your god speaking to you. If I thought that'd do any good I would respect your position all the more. But if you prayed for something useful and got it (like peace in the middle east, or the healing of an amputee) then I'd be forced to consider that prayer was something more than just personal indulgence. Until then, it wastes both of our time
