  • I really enjoyed that, I think it's excellent thanks for the vid!

I had my real first taste of ashtanga yoga a couple weeks back and I absolutely loved it. Once I clear my schedule I'll be doing it 3x a wk! :D

  • wow, this really works thanks

  • It worked for me;) Thought I'd pass on the savings to you!

    S.

  • hi sadie, im a beggine to yoga, and i attempted this video with some difficulty. im not very flexible as a result im finding someof the position extremely difficult to do. for example my arms cannot reach over my head from behind. if i am perisant would my flexibility improve or shall i look for an easier video to start with.

  • Just move towards the pose, and work where your body stops you. This is my body after 15 years of yoga. Yours will look different, but if you're working, and in alignment, it's perfectly fine to be doing less of the movement for now. You'll chip away at these poses, and get there soon! xoSadie

  • Awesome videos!

  • Thanks;) I'll keep em coming!

  • this is really hard to follow when you go so fast

  • wow your really elegant. im going to have to give this a try.

  • Totally...eat right and do 60 minutes of challenging yoga 3-5 times a week, and you'll see and feel changes almost immediately.

    xoSadie

  • it all comes from the Core...and thanks;)

    Sadie

  • Hey--you can go to my channel: SadieNardini (search for it on youtube--no spaces). I have 165 videos on there, one of which is Yoga for the Inflexible, etc. Enjoy--you'll get there!

  • Thanks!! Mine too;)

    S

  • 15 years! And I looked nothing like this when I started. It's all yoga, baby!

    Namaste.

    Sadie

  • You should see s lot more benefits if you do this type of yoga for 45-60 minutes, 4-5 times a week. Commit to it, and let me know what happens!

    xoSadie

  • Thanks! Let me know how it goes.

    xoSadie

  • omg that's some serious stretching. I'll try my best though. thanks so much <3 was there screaming in the background at the beginning of the video? lol

  • That's just New York City. It's always screaming.

    ;)

  • Thank you so much. You have absolutely exquisite flexibility and I certainly hope I can tone my body like that doing Yoga workouts. I have a hard time holding balance perfectly as you do, but is there anything else I could alongside daily practices to balance myself better (Especially doing moves around 4:40 ) so that the routines are flawless and smooth?

  • Just do a consistent practice, and you'll create miracles, like i did! Namaste! Sadie

  • Hi. this is awesome and so challenging! thank you so much

  • Thanks! Glad you're here. xoSadie

  • thanQ for posting this video it really helped me alot

  • I'm happy it's helping! Keep on rocking it!!!

  • sadie ur amazing.

i only did it for 3 minutes and i can already feel the burn

  • Yep--it's powerful. Keep at it and you're gonna transform!

    xoSadie

  • hi, nice sequence, I love it.. I just got my certification as a Yoga Teacher and I think I'm gonna put some of your movements on my sequence... can't wait to see more

    Namaste :-)

  • Hi there,

I'd do the Core Warm-Up, then Core Sun Salutations, then this video, then any other strong video you like of mine, then end with Yoga for Runners and any other stretches you like. OR, you could do my Hipster Playlist or Omega Playlist all the way through for one consecutive class. I will make more playlists soon! have fun! Sadie

  • Hi there,

Bend your knees in Down Dog, keep your belly lifted, and then stretch through your heels only until you feel a good stretch, not a pull. Meet your edge with bent legs, keep your pelvis straight with your spine, and then work on straightening your legs over time. Let me know if it helps! xoSadie

  • Read all my comments here--you'll get the healthy picture!

    Good luck!

    Sadie

  • You're so welcome! Sadie

  • I only do yoga. 4-6 times a week for one hour. It's all my body needs! But anything else can be good for the body. Yoga, however, is great for the mind and heart as well.

    xoSadie

  • First of all, darling, welcome to being a real woman instead of a little girl. We all have body fat, even the models...but to stay fit, you want to eat healthfully, and never below 1500 calories a day, and do about 30-60 minutes of vigorous exercise like this 3-4 times a week. This will keep your body natural, and toned, whatever your body type is. Have fun! But remember--don't even try to be perfect. There's no such thing and you can ruin your life trying. xoSadie

  • great video. after doing this i feel like i'm actually getting somewhere. can't wait to see the results after a few weeks.

  • Oh...and you will!! Let me know how it goes!!

    xoSadie

  • Thank u! ur vidz helped a lot!

  • wow...i need to learn that.

  • Hi...I really like your body...I have a lot of fat in the exterior thigh and upper arm. And when I touch them they are hard as rock...so what moves do you recommand for me to do to especially lose "weight" on these areas? Thanki you~~

  • It doesn't sound like you have fat there if it's hard--perhaps it's muscle? Do yoga and eat well, and you'll lose fat and gain longer, leaner muscles, so you will see the results you want either way! Good luck!

    Sadie

  • About 4-600, depending on your weight. Plus, and most importantly, a regular yoga practice that's challenging like this one amps up your metabolism all day long so you burn more calories--even as you sleep because you're building lean muscle mass. Have fun! xoSadie

  • After 100 times, you'll both be a superstar at it, AND your body will be transformed. Keep going! xoSadie

  • hi,

I always try to loss my WEIGHT but i really do not know how to start, could u please tell me a way to how to start,do u have a special diet?

  • Hi there,

Just read all my comments below--I talk about this a lot. You'll get all the info you need to start and maintain a healthier lifestyle. Good luck! xoSadie

  • Totally! Just make sure you warm up first for about 10 mins. Try my Core Sun Salutation video! Have fun,

    xoSadie

  • Yeah--talking came years after I started practicing. Thanks for your comment!! xoSadie

  • This plus a healthy diet that is less calories than you burn off each day...burn the fat, build the muscle =abs and a whole body transformation! Good luck! Sadie

  • Even though this looks pretty intense, you move so gracefully!

  • Thanks! WIth practice, grace comes;)

  • wow you make the side plank look so easy! :)

  • Looks like it, eh? :)

  • This is amazing! It really works. I didn't know if it would, work and i tried it,then i had abs within 4 weeks!

  • Lovely! I've created this style to be the most effective for creating core strength out there. Glad to hear it's worked for you! Namaste, Sadie

  • You're so welcome! Keep it up, and reap all the benefits of this wonderful practice.

    xoSadie

  • Well. it IS New York City!

    :)))

    Sadie

  • Let me know how it goes!!

    xoSadie

  • Put your back knee down for the standing poses, stay in Down Dog instead of doing every vinyasa in-between sides, learn the sequence and slow it down or press pause and breathe in Child's Pose till you catch your breath:)

    Good luck!

    Sadie

  • Try my Core Strength Vinyasa Yoga: Power Hour DVD on Amazon--it's got great sound and helps with weight loss too.

    Sadie

  • Yes, absolutely. Yoga like this layers cardio with muscle-building [raising your metabolism to burn more calories all day and night long] plus it stretches you so you build more muscle density which means metabolism goes up even more. That's why we all look so great--it really works--no other exercise or weights needed. xoSadie

  • It can increase height a little, if you're tight muscularly. I can't say by how much. You'll feel taller when you get the long, lean yoga body though! :)

    Sadie

  • I never will!

    xoSadie

  • Hey--I started with 5 mins at a time...then worked up to it. You may suprise yourself.

    xoSadie

  • Hey there--

It's all in the practice--when you refine poses and your balance over time you'll be able to do it. Anything you start will be hard at first. And you strengthen fast trying to balance. do it a few times a week for a month and see! xoSadie

  • Thanks! The more you do, the better you feel. Sadie

  • By doing this 3-5 times a week!!

    xoSadie

  • Hey there,

Yes, don't go crazy-you will start being more curvy soon and I want you to know that's AWESOME. You don't want to be scrawny...but fit and healthy for your body type is good.

Yoga can be done anytime. Just doing it is the main thing.

    xoSadie

  • well i am a 6'2'' person and my weight is approx 90-100,

my body is ok... according to the height but the problem is i have sum extra fat on the sides of the stomach and on chest =s

so does these yoga exercises help me to reduce this extra fat ?

  • Of course--coupled with a healthy diet--yoga like this burns fat all over the body and helps you tone up too.

    Sadie

  • Thank you! xo

  • oO? Where are the other comments? Wow!

I need german subs! .... :( The echo makes it hard to understand......

  • If you use Yoga for weight loss, how long before you notice a change in your body? i love yoga so far.

  • great vid babe ;)

  • wow yoga :)

  • Thanks so much for the video! Can't wait to try it out!

  • thanks

  • Hey Sadie! I'm looking to get a flat stomach fast. I've been trying to for the last...8 months? And I've only got about 5 pounds to lose. Oh those stubborn ones! How long did it take you to get it flat?

  • Hey honey--

Sounds like you've been through a LOT. Yoga will definitely be your magic tool against gaining weight. One thing though--800-900 calories is severe, and your metabolism will actually slow down if you remain on it outside of the hospital. If you are active during the day [not in bed all day], you need at LEAST 1200 calories to keep your metabolism [fuel your brain and body functions] running. If you do 30-60 mins of strong yoga, add 2-300 calories onto that. You will NOT gain weight.

  • It's the yoga, baby!

  • How do you think I got this way?? YOGA:)

    xoSadie

  • I am, though I speak very little. Grandfather from Modena and relatives in Sicily. And yes, you should do this stuff--it makes you look and feel awesome. xoSadie

  • Absolutely--in fact, it would burn even more calories because you'd be doing it for more time. Also, for slower weight loss-worthy ones, try my Power Half Hour and Power Hour videos--they are in real time and longer.

    Good luck! Sadie

  • It's much better, but many people don't have access to a studio, sadly...so this is the next best thing, mama!

    xoxoS

  • Thanks!

This one is faster than many of my others, since I wasn't trying to do a real-time practice, but explain the sequence and poses. Try my Power Half Hour for weight loss or my Power Hour videos--they are real time!

    xoxoSadie

  • What??? Nice to meet another Nardini diva!!

    ciao bella!

    Sadie

  • Good advice! I need a Britney Spears mic;)

    xoSadie

  • you're welcome!

    xoSadie

  • excellent! Have fun!! Try some of my other vids too...there's like 100;)

    xoSadie

  • Thanks!

This one is faster than many of my others, since I wasn't trying to do a real-time practice, but explain the sequence and poses. Try my Power Half Hour for weight loss or my Power Hour videos--they are real time!

    xoxoSadie

  • of course!! Guys love this yoga thang!!

    xoSadie

  • You're so welcome.

    more soon!

    xoS

  • no time like the present.

    xoxo

  • My pleasure!

    Sadie

  • You can, but you will burn about 50 calories that way, so if your goal is weight loss, do it for at least 30 mins, or do some of my other videos in addition. If you want to effect real change, you have to commit to asking more of your body than you do now.

    xoxoSadie

  • you're so welcome!

  • You could get a Yoga for Beginner's DVD, Rodney Yee has some good strong ones out. Or you could just do this and when your body stops you within a pose, or trying to get into one, hold it, and work there at your edge until you can progress. I will make some more Beginners' flows soon too--stay posted!

    xoSadie

  • Absolutely--rest in Child's Pose or come to sit for one minute anytime you need to catch your breath. I would stay warm though and not stop for too long, or else warm up again with some Core Salutations or Sun Salutations when you begin again.

    Namaste,

    Sadie

    xoSadie

  • I hope it's challenging! That means it's transforming you. Ask more of yourself, and ye shall receive, right;)

    Namaste!

    Sadie

  • 15 years, and I can tell you from experience that if you commit to even 3 days a week, it will change your body--and your life.

    xoSadie

  • You can do this, and you can also do some others, like my Power Half Hour and Core Sun Salutations...

    welcome to yoga!!

    Sadie

  • Hey there--

Check out my comments above, and do what feels best for your goals. If you feel tired, congratulations--you worked out! Keep it up, and your body willl adjust and you'll soon feel happy and energized as well as feeling like you worked your body.

    Have fun!! xoxo

  • Hey--

You can just do as many as you want in 1/2 an hour, but I'd end with a stretch like Pigeon Pose [see the video for that] and make sure to rest on your back for 2-3 minutes afterwards to reset your body into the new alignment as you cool down.

    Have fun!

    Sadie

  • Hi there,

I sometimes eat a little about 30 mins before practicing and it's fine. Do your practice any time you can--life is busy, and do it when you feel like it, so you'll be more likely to stick with it! I'm a night practicer, not a morning, but lots of people love the morning. Do your yoga, and all good things will come.;) Sadie

  • Absoutely--didn't even know I could do it! I'm yoga savvy, not techno;)

I will see what I can do, and check back for more, and slower postings!!

    xoSadie

  • Thanks! Glad you think so...:)

Yes, the DVD is great for weight loss, and does many of these same moves, but slower!

    xoSadie

  • YES--you will totally lose weight doing a vigorous form of flow yoga like this...but you also have to eat well...do both and you'll see a big improvement!

    Sadie

  • If you just learn the moves, you can slow them down to any pace you want! xoSadie

  • It's not advanced, but even strong beginners can do it if you practice it, learn it, and then do it at your own pace once you do. Just don't do the whole move, but as much of it as you can. This video is a cardio flow, which means to keep your heart rate up, you keep moving. Try my beginners videos- I have a lot of those too!;)

    Sadie

  • Hey there,

you could try my Power Half Hour series or any of my other videos, most of which are pretty intermediate already! For further instruction I'd see a yoga teacher in person and inquire about where you are now, and how to progress in your poses. It's hard for me to know your capability without seeing you, you know? xoxoSadie

  • I would love to do yoga in a class with her teaching it... She's smoking hot!

  • It took a couple of years, but I'm definitely taller;)

    Sadie

  • I'd do it, then repeat it till I had a 30-minute practice OR you can get my 30 and 60 minute Yoga for Weight loss videos on my SadieNardini page!!

    xoSadie

  • Thanks! The posture came from yoga, My mom always used to tell me to stand up straight, but the yoga MAKES me stand up straight;)

    Sadie

  • WHOOO FIST OF FIRE WHOOOOOOOO!

  • I KNOW...love the FOF.

    Sadie

  • thanks for posting! it really helped with my balance and flexibility :)

  • You're so welcome!

    Sadie

  • this is very interesting. I just tried about 5 mins and I already feeling the stretch from my muscles. but I have a question. Is that normal for beginners? tnx sadie

where can i download your yoga videos aside from youtube? tnx again.

  • well excatly what's wrong is i broke my L2 vertabrae when i was arond 11. it was an impact fracture. i never knew i did it (i dont know how that happened) and it healed the wrong way and it's possible that fluid is whats causing my discomfort

  • So I think it's good for you to work the abs and keep the back long, as in yoga. I'm sure your doc just doesn't want you to pressurize the area too much, but staying away from getting the abs stronger, releasing out your lower back and strengthening your torso muscles isn't serving you. You'll be in more pain if your back and ab muscles are weak [abs] and tight] low back]. I'd suggest you find a yoga teacher near you who understands the back, and work with them to create a healthy back for you!

  • you inspire me thaankyou

  • You're welcome!!

    xoSadie

  • thanks sadie - had to rush off but i'll come back and watch that again, it looks great!

  • If that's where you live can i move in with you? We'll do yoga all day baby ; )

    How tall are you?

  • Heheh...I've moved, but that was a nice place.

I'm five foot eight inches. I used to be 5'7", but the yoga made me taller.

    xoSadie

  • Good going! Let me know what you accomplish!

    xoSadie

  • It's all the yoga, baby! Keep it up and you will too!

    Sadie

  • Hey...it takes practice and commitment to see changes. I couldn't do 5 minutes of this the first time I tried. Keep going, push for new habits, and before long, the ball will be rolling smoother, and you'll look and feel GREAT!

    xoSadie

  • i have back problems and am not aloud to do the usual work outs people to in order to keep the stomach tight and toned. im not aloud to do situps or any sort of crunchs. basically anything that has to do with strengthing the abdominal muscles or back muscles.. will theses poses help flatten my stomach and get rid of belly fat without straining my back?

  • Great question. What's wrong with your back, exactly? If I know this, I can give you better advice.

    Thanks! Sadie

  • This is the BEST VIDEO ever ^^

I could only do the first 4 minutes, how lazy am i? :( but i could really feel it all!! so... THANKS :)

I will do this everyday a few times ^^

    P.S You are beautiful ^^

  • Thanks, PageSix!

4 minutes is about what I did the first time I tried yoga, but keep breathing deeply, go at it, and let me know when you can do the whole thing!!!

    xoSadie

  • You make it look so easy!

Will be ages before I'm able to do any of that!

Good tips to *try* to incorporate into my sequences though, thanks!

  • Yes, well it's still not easy...but it is transformative, no matter how much you're able to do. Go for it--you might surprise yourself;) And in time, you'll rock the full poses too.

    xoSadie

  • Okay so im 13 and i think yoga looks way fun but im not flexible at all and all these poses on this video are really hard for me to do and keep up with! So do you think you could possibly make a video for unflexible beginners ,but also for toning in it?? That would be so amazing thanks!! =] - Shaina

  • GREAT idea!

I'll do a Yoga for Inflexible People tomorrow.

    xoSadie

  • Thank you this is really helpful

  • Welcome--glad it's helping.

    Sadie

  • this is going to be impossible for me to remember.. :S still gonna try though!! thanks!

  • Hey--just listen to my voice and you'll get it with practice:)

    Sadie

  • thankyou for posting his asome! i been doing 3 days week!including running eating right:) lost 2 pant sizes yayy

  • Rock ON!!!

    xoSadie

  • Wow you have a gorgeous body! And I hope I could do all these you're an inspiration for the body. Unfortunately I'm horrible on flexibility.

  • Thanks!

I was horrible at flexibility too when I started. Now you can see the difference. Just do yoga, go where your body stops you and work there to open...and it will change all that over time!

    Sadie

  • your videos are great! thanks so much for sharing your knowledges and routines! yoga is awesome :)

  • you're so welcome!

    Sadie

  • wow! this is a great video!

    your so amazing at this.

im trying to lose weight around my hips and tone my abbs any thing specific for that?

  • I'd do my Power Half Hour series, or the Power Hour videos, also Yoga for Weight Loss and all the core strength videos. Watch what you eat and do lots of yoga, and you'll totally transform. It's a commitment, but you'll end up feeling and looking fabulous, so it's a good trade-off;)

    xoSadie

  • very cool, you have an awesome body

  • It's all the yoga!

    xoSadie

  • hello, i am from india . technically your poses and asanas are the closest to the ones which are taught here in our schools which have been passed on from generations. but the small improvisations are really awesome. keep up th good work. Namaste.

  • Thank you--I'm glad to hear that! I try to keep close to the classical poses, but find creative ways to help people into them.

    Namaste!

  • omgggggggg u r so flexible

    lol

    gud work

    keep it up

  • I didn't start out that way AT ALL. In fact, the opposite. yoga Rocks!

    xoSadie

  • Thanks so much for the tips Sadie, I will practise and let you know how I get on.

  • Great--love to hear...

    Sadie

  • hi sadie, could u giv me any tip to grow taller as now my body is becoming bigger in width...lolz.. remembered wat i told before abt my yoga practice?? anyw hope u can provide me some useful tips for trimming ma body as wel as becomin taller..

    love ya...Thanks,

    Eve

  • Hi Eve,

Keep doing lots of vigorous yoga, eat well, and not too much [1500-1700 calories a day is good to aim for] and you'll lean out. Good luck!

    xoSadie

  • Hey there,

I've never heard of this in 15 years of teaching, so it may be you had a dry nose and this just made it bleed, or if you get more nosebleeds, you should go see your doctor. Being inverted causes more blood to rush to the face and nose, so maybe if you were going to have one anyway, this made it happen. xosadie

  • its so hard for me to do 5:56 :( . nc vid anyways :)

  • I know--this has somewhere for everyone to work towards. Keep it up and you'll do it someday soon!

    Sadie

  • I have real problems getting from downward dog to forward lunge position. My arms are not long enough to allow my leg to swing through. What do i do, HELP!

  • Hi there,

It's not your arms---i used to think mine were to short, too. It's that you need to build core strength. Practice the Core Plank Poses I teach here and in my Core Sun Salutations video, and with enough practice, you'll get it. For now, really lift into your hips, rounded back and abs with the knee, then swing the foot forward from that higher place as far forward as it will go. Then grab your ankle and bring it the rest of the way up. In time, you'll step it up all at once. good luck

  • Comment removed

  • Thats hurtssss

  • WOw! Good job. Im 13 eyars old and to ballet. I tried what you just did and it refreshed me. i have been doing ballet since i was 4 anyway does this help me get skiinnier to? because my scale says im 109.6lbs and im not fat.. it's because i have mucsle.. annyway my frined's tell me im skinny/noraml for my age but i want to be skinnier im not anerexic i eat ALOT lol! Anyway does it help me get skinnier? luv yah sadie!!!

  • HI honey,

First of all, everyone's body type is different, and I want you to be healthy and happy with yours. Even skinny models are imperfect. And they're also 6 feet tall. Yoga will give you long, lean muscles, so you'll look the best for your body type, and remember to stay strong, happy and healthy--not perfect. There is no such thing.

    xoSadie

  • can i do yoga at night? its hard to do this at morning with 3 kids

  • Of course--do it whenever works with your schedule. I usually do night yoga...

    xoSadie

  • Hi..

I am 20 female and 4'10 . A while ago i read that there are yoga exercise that help you to grow taller. Is it true? If so can you help me?

  • Hi there,

Yoga can make you longer and leaner. It releases space between your bones so you might grow an inch or so because of it...but you will also feel strong and lean and awesome, so that's another reason to go for it;)

    xoSadie

  • Your videos are very informative and inspirational. I can't wait to try out some of these moves. Thank you.

  • good techniques

  • You're so welcome! More coming soon!

    Sadie

  • EVE: If it's neither, have someone measure your hips and arms with a measuring tape and see if they're really getting bigger, or you're just noticing new muscles. Yoga won't make you gain big muscles or fat...weight training and food will do those. let me know! S

SPIDER: check out my Yoga Detox Breath video. Then use that breath with this workout for 45 mins 4 times a week, watch what you eat, and you'll turn into a skinny ant!

    xoSadie

  • Hey Eve,

When you do yoga, you'll build some muscle, but it's long, lean muscle. I don't know what your body type is, so if you're super skinny, you might notice some new muscles but you won't ever get bulky. If you're overweight, and still eating a lot, or still overweight, you may still be building fat on top of the muscles. Continued...

  • Pull your belly button into your body as you tuck the tailbone for the abs to contract more. Have fun!

  • you just try any of my videos, maybe start with the Core Strength for Beginners, the Core Sun Salutations and Yoga for Overweight Yogis and do what you can, and keep pressing to do more over time as you build strength and flexibility. It will happen!

    xoSadie

  • Hi Eliza,

Can you use your wrists at all? If so, I'd keep the knees down in your Planks and Chaturangas, and if not, skip the vinyasas, and remain in the standing poses for longer. You can also practice placing the knees down and forearms on the floor for Forearm Plank, hips lowered till your abs work for a few breaths. Then put your hips on the floor and arch your spine into Sphinx Pose.

Work into the full vinyasa over time, and really press your fingertips into the mat to protect the wrists.

  • You will....just keep going--and breathing:)

    xoSadie

  • Thanks! Hi back from NYC!

    Sadie

  • Good question, actually. It's to help you ground and not slide so you can get much more power [and more results] out of your practice. I recommend the Harmony mat. It's the non-slippiest!

    Sadie
