+1 because of Eric Johnson. Seems to be only one who can shred with self control, won't go too deep with that but still plays so soft and smooth. I.e. Steve Vai can't play calmly.

But I completely ignored Satriani which is amazing too. In that stage there really is three guitar heroes, and all of the has their style to play. And in my eyes Johnson is the only one who don't get carried on.
