  • I think he's totally "In the Flow". He doesn't even need to think he's just one with the music.

  • right! the evil laughing is missing in the end!!! maybe he controls hisself, in conclusion he is in a christly house.....who knews? but a genius work!

  • this song is so atmospheric.......

  • Tu kulturalni Polacy słuchający muzyki klasycznej,PRZEJMUJEMY TEN FILMIK :D

  • incredible !

  • Bach + Religious Atmosphere = Visionary experience guaranteed

  • I honestly dislike the association of this with evil things in horror movies...

I find this piece incredibly beautiful, and Bach delayed the chords perfectly when he wrote it. I love the reintroduction to the chords after the deceptions in between.

  • @hellomate639 i agree with you!!!!!! Bach wrote a lot of music for the church, and Tocata & Fuga is not an exception, this is an entrance music for the church, in this magnificent piece of music we can find the interaction of heaven and hell, holiness and sin within the life of man.

  • @angelideo

I'll mention that I'm an atheist, though I don't think that this has to do with sin, despite the minor chords in it. Power combined with minor chords does not always mean ominous.

Religious music that is meant to represent the love of Jesus can be in a minor chord. Think of it as beauty that is so great that it brings you to tears, but not necessarily in the musical sense. That's what I think is represented in a lot- not necessarily this.

  • That's how you tell folks "I'm not doing it like a boss, I AM THE BOSS!!"

  • This music is far too reminiscent of sumptious grandiosity - golden bedsteads, marble columns luxuriating in luxury for me..

  • Did anyone else think that the organist kind of look like John Cleese at first lol

  • This is played in the right key, however, this instrument likely uses a baroque tuning temperament -- not equal temperament like today, also it is probably not tuned anywhere near A-440.

The performer is Hans Andre Stamm.

  • CROSSFIRE: YOU'LL GET CAUGHT UP IN THE~

  • Not good to cus out God's house

Go to a church with an organ and ask him or her to play The toccata (565)

  • Every time I hear this song played in a cathedral, even though I'm not religious, it still gives me chills...

  • @mrboxingrandy I wish I could hear it in a damn cathedral.

  • @ravenrage07 Trust me, it's epic, especially when your not expecting for it to come on when your in a cathedral and out of nowhere, someone just starts to play The Toccata and then lines of people holding candles and flags come marching into the cathedral not paying attention to anyone and start to do religious practices, you just get chills all over and you feel so out of place but can't help to watch because of how epic it really is, you would just have to experience it to fully understand

  • When he sits down at that massive machine, it is like he is creating something that is more than the sum of its parts.

  • Nagyon jó. Köszönöm.

  • They got a 1/2 million dollar organ and not even a simple light to make the sheet music easier to read lol.

  • The body part

  • Magnificent. Absolutely wonderful. Great for when you need something to listen to when alone in your house. SPEAKERS ON FULL! :D

  • Muse's Plug in Baby was based on this song, you can hear the start of the main riff at 1:09

  • They play this when you walk into heaven.

  • @huqmierocketlauncher did you mean HELL...??

  • @huqmierocketlauncher hell would be better for this .

  • @promethe1304 @musaed91 @huqmierocketlauncher To the two idiots at the bottom on this page thinking they would play this in "hell" *if there is or is not a hell* they play this in cathedrals all around the world...more of a "heaven" thing... just like he said

  • @mrboxingrandy You stupid piece of cow dung , toccata and fugue has allways been seen as an extremely obscur piece , no matter where it is played , even in the part where you've emerged from your mom , music has no specified meaning , and calling us idiots because we understand it the way you don't , just show how near from the wall you'r cradle has been . :)

  • @promethe1304 Not that I don't appreciate the defense of finding your own meaning in someone's art, could you defend your point with better grammar? Please and thank you. Also, argue without the insults please. It makes you look just as short sighted as the one with whom you are arguing.

  • @CCBrown92 Stop speaking like that... you people drive me fuckin bonkers. "It makes you look just as short sighted as the one with whom you are arguing.".. the fuck? You speak like that so you sound clever, but, you are not. Plus, "whom you are arguing"... doesn't make sense. I never knew you could argue someone.

  • @CCBrown92 plus, it's short-sighted, not short sighted. You just failed at your own attempt to be clever. Snob.

  • @promethe1304 I have to ask because I am concerned, What The Fuck are you talking about???

  • Thank you very much!

  • Amazing!

  • That's BS talented! :D Fantastic!

  • wait! something is not complete...oh ya, the evil laugh..MMMUUUAAAHHAHAHA!!!

  • @arit34 Don't forget the NAUTILUS !

  • Comment removed

  • because racecar

  • zajebista nuta

  • Wow amazing, it's in another tunning, maybe very close of the original Bach's tuning, not the 440 Hz

  • Epic Organ Song which transcend time.

  • Who's the performer?

  • @hmAddicted As i read in other videos the performer is: Hans-Andre Stamm

  • Dat craftsmanship

  • НЕймовірно

  • DAT FACE 1:00

  • HOW DO YOU DISLIKE THIS!!!!

  • OMG! is playing by itself 0:36

  • IL ETAIT UNE FOIS LE DIABLE

  • r the keys underneath being depressed as well in the same key ????

  • @paulaos Yes, the manual couplers of this organ work mechanically.

  • ACK! WRONG KEY, WRONG KEY!!!

  • @Wagnerlover777 Right key but is sounds higher than usual! The organ is tuned to 466.8 Hz at 15°C.

  • @francomug Well, I have a hard time listening to things that aren't tuned to 440 Hz concert A. Perfect pitch is honestly a bit of a downfall for listening to period instruments for me.

  • What a masterpiece colossal organ...

  • This seems to be in an higher octave than the version of this composition I usually hear. But I remember in kindergarden, my music teacher told us that this was church music composed for a church, and every one thought it was beautiful. This piece is beautiful (don't get me wrong) But the funny thing is the begining uses heavy minor chords and it does sort of make the hair on the back of your neck stand up when you hear the first phrase for the first time. But it seems unfitting 4 a church.

  • @97Grimsta the story is Bach was at church that day and something happened that made him angry and he went home and composed this :)

  • The three last chords come from Elsewhere...

  • I'll be Bach! (back) ^_^

What did Bach's English teacher ask him? "Where's your composition?"

  • POWER!

  • First time I've seen this video even though it was posted in 2006. The music is FANTASTIC!! The organist.........SUPER CREEPY!!!!! Bulging eyes, no expression in the mouth makes ya wonder if he's plannin to murder someone or just did.

  • Bravo

  • You know I've looked up lists of worlds greatest composers, and johann Sebastian Bach was number 1 on 3 of them

  • I've finally found it!!!! This is a masterpiece, moving and very haunting...............great for Halloween!!

  • This is the Trost Organ in Leipzig of which Bach played on himself in Thomaskirche and where Bach is also buried.

  • @C091000 This Heinrich Gottfried Trost organ is in Walterhausen, not the Thomaskirche in Leipzig.

  • @C091000 This organ is situated at Walthershausen, not at Leipzig.

  • @C091000 are their necromancers near where he is buried?

  • @C091000 Its not the homaskirche.... nice try but its not.... just simply look up pictures of the thomaskirche, not that hard eh?

  • Where is this, and this is the most beautiful Baroque Organ I've ever seen! I wanna buy it XD and here's another musical joke: "How are you? I'm Swell, and how are you? I'm Great!" AKA-swell pedal and Great Pedals are on organs...

  • Holy shit.

  • @GmT0Curwen 2 simple words that describe the whole video

  • That man was born to play the organ.

  • Best playing of this piece I have ever heard

  • I love when we see his face for the first time! it was a shock for me! he looks so constipated :D

  • Nothing beats the classics ;)

  • I think music like this deserves ~10-50 million views, not some everyday crap that got almost nothing good in it!

  • Listening to this with my speakers on high. Ah...such a powerful sound. Anyone know what it feels like being in the presence of one of these? Im sure the bass notes vibrate your inner core.

  • @LotusDragon09 I hate religion but love going to church, just to hear this awesome instrument.

  • @o0oSolidSnakeo0o I wish I could go to a cathedral and jam out on a pipe organ. ...only problem is im not good at it lol. I can play the melody of "Bloody Tears" from Castlevania though. Sounds awesome with the organ sound on my keyboard.

  • OMG....This man looks like Bach .Check out Bach's picture

  • i would sacrifice a testicle for to be able to play like this..

  • @enfielddnepr ha! you are a woman?

  • @ErwinvanderWerve

no, i am not., my fellow dutchman..

  • @enfielddnepr wauw! then you really want to play like that!

  • Best song ever!

  • Good is he good! He plays it *exactly* like its supposed to sound.

  • LOVE. THIS. <3 <3 <3 <3

  • 0:00 *walks into ganondorfs castle*

  • 1:10 sounds like Eddie Vanhalen's Eruption solo, I can see where he got some inspiration from, Bach's are compositions are amazing aswell :D

  • Great performance! I would love to hear the interpret live.

  • Орган the best

  • weeelcome to zeh manor of draculaa

  • @Jadenofthedni3 i play the organ for 7 years noob

  • Playing that thing looks like quite the workout.

  • which part is the fugue and which is the toccata?? help!!

  • @lomeloft it begins at Toccata and then at 2:30 starts the fugue.

  • Bach was essentially playing metal music with the organ. Guitars just weren't there back then.

  • Wonderful! He looks like John Cleese, too!

  • fantastic

also look at his face at 1:00 i have never laughed so much

  • The Organist is Hans-André Stamm and he is playing the Trost organ of Waltershausen. Magnificently!

  • Amazing

  • Phenomenal.

  • AWESOME!!!! This truly is a great perfomance, on what looks like a wonderful instrument. I wish there were more information provided.. who's performing? Where? What are some of the details of the organ? This would be in my opinion, a GOOD thing.

  • Play this on Halloween. Scares everyone !

  • Organ - so powerful instrument. Brilliant. One of my favourite music composed by Bach. Masterpiece.

  • C'est ÇA - un représentaire de Bach!

  • I just organ..gamsd :x

  • geen ural maar wel een dnepr in mijn filmpje. ural klinkt wat makkelijker en is bekender natuurlijk.

  • so good

  • Velcome to zeh house of Dracula.

  • This is why baroque music will liver forever; because ALL modern day music has been somehow influence by baroque music.

  • Шедевр!

  • I wounder who can up with the foot pedal idea for organs. It's amazing but if it was invented now i'm sure it would get some eye rolls at the patent office ha

  • It is a violent song. A powerfull song. No person will say that classical music isn't the best type of music after hearing this. It shows so much emotion. Nowadays all we hear is drums here, electronics there... It's just not the same...

  • Comment removed

  • Just imagine, if you're a poor, poor peasant in the past who's NEVER heard music before. Then, someone leads you to a church and you walk in to hear this. You can NEVER under-estimate the power of Classical music. And this song demonstrates how powerful Bach truly was.

  • I can't get over how epic how 2:42 sounds...

  • so creepy....

  • If it ain't Baroque, don't fix it! Hahaha I love music jokes.

  • @psychic2psychedelic Nope, don't get it.

  • @TheLastMyztery Baroque sounds like broke.

  • @psychic2psychedelic Ah, I see.

  • @psychic2psychedelic Do you mean to say, "If it's Baroque, don't fix it?"

  • @ShaneyElderberry As far as making sense and being appropriate for the song i would, but as far as the joke is concerned, no.

  • @psychic2psychedelic

Ok, here's another one...in case you never heard it before. Bach(back) in one hour. Why did Bach have so many children? He didn't have any stops on his "organ".

  • Is it just me or does the guy playing look a little... pale?

  • Потрясающее исполнение, практически идеальный тайминг

  • Am I the only person who feels like this ISN'T in d minor? It feels like it's up a whole step at least...I see him hitting the D pedal when the pedal statement enters, but it feels a little chipper in pitch....

  • @n4bgw

I think the reason why the organ sounds off key is because they tuned instruments to a different frequency in the Baroque era than they do now. You can't exactly tune an organ but judging by the design of the building and the actual instrument, it would most likely have been built around Bach's time so the pipes would be slightly different sizes to more contemporary pipe organs.

  • Am I the only person who feels like this ISN'T in d minor? It feels like it's up a whole step at least...

  • does this guy make a mistake at 1:15??

  • If you were one of the 55 people who disliked this video there is something seriously wrong with you

  • holy JS Bach! this is great!

  • this guy is frighteningly good at this :O

  • Wow! It ended in a minor chord! I thought Bach almost always ended in major chords to honor God.

  • the name of the executor??

  • @mak300000 Hans-Andre Stamm

  • @mak300000 Hans Andre-Stamm is playing the Trost Organ.

  • Great performance - thank you for sharing

  • Absolutely professional!

  • wordless...

  • i was thinking of this song didnt know the name just typed in organ this was the first one

  • Wow just for this song my new studio headphone worthed the price!

  • This is true talent...

  • beautiful,this is a master pice

  • @VladDraculTepes3 Yes it sure is mate!

  • The only bad thing about this is that my computer didn't have enough volume to let me experience this to the fullest

  • Dracula!

  • Sucha beautiful piece of art!

  • Dios tiene esta cancion en su IPOD

  • every time my math teacher come to class...this song is played in my mind..creepy !! o.O

  • Is this organ tuned a half-step higher, or is it just the recording?

  • What performance is this? Who is this guy?

  • @Belmaktor

His name is Hans Andre Stamm

  • 2:30 - 2:35 Orochimaru's Theme. And I thought that was original...

  • @somagrave

Well, there's a lot more music you'd originally think to be original. But most of it is ultimately derived from the great works of these virtuosos. ;)

  • i want one in my house...

  • The organist is completely expressionless. I would be grimacing like mad if I could play like that!

  • Those organ stops are very large!

  • 2:30-2:37

    show off....

  • Dracula's theme song

  • This is being played at my wedding, and I couldn't be happier!

  • awesome.. weeks of practicing and i can play from the 2:30 mark to the 3:12 mark lol.. that makes about 9 months to a year and i'll be able to stumble through this peice.
