@pastorg22 Despicable lies. Liberals do not want to "wreck the military", and it's insane to think that it would. Contrary to your vomitous bigotry, there's not a thing wrong with being gay, and the blasphemy of claiming God will "deal with" his gayness shows you don't know who God is. God CREATED gay people, and loves them just as much as anyone else.
The military is already "dealing with" his courageous actions, and as one would expect doing so in a way that is cruel and illegal.

@pastorg22 And I do HOPE there's some "past org" thing in your name, and that it's NOT "pastor g", because the vile slur you called him, and in such insulted ALL God's children who happen to be gay, is as unChristian a thing as is possible. Bigotry isn't Christian, homophobia isn't Christian, and neither is mass murder wrapped in the phony packaging of "patriotism".
@RadarGuidedVermin Manning did nothing remotely unAmerican or traitorous.
Just as I've done, and said, NOTHING remotely racist. Asked, dozens of times, for examples of this supposed "racism" you've hidden like a scared rat .
@RadarGuidedVermin Pointing out facts isn't crying. You've still failed to show one word I've ever said to be racist, unlike yourself who has attacked blacks and civil rights and used vile, racist slurs. You cannot muster the brainpower of a drunk earthworm, so instead of defending your despicable ideas, you just turn around and call those who point out our racism "racist."
Bradley Manning's actions were the best of America. He's not vaguely close to being a "traitor." Not even close.
@RadarGuidedVermin Lie after lie. Manning didn't 'steal" these, these are the actions of a HERO, the war crimes AND trying to hide them from the American people were the traitorous acts, as are the torture of Manning AND refusal to grant UN access to a held prisoner.
I've pointed out nothing but points, which is what infuriates this rodent so.
@RadarGuidedVermin I'm am not stupid, I am far more aware of what happened here. Thank GOD, Manning courageously blew the whistle on the REAL illegal actions, those of our military and government. But you're FINE with those illegal actions, no matter how many people were tortured and murdered. He is NOT a traitor, the people he revealed to have committed war crimes and to have ENCOURAGED terrorism with their mistreatment of prisoners are. Manning's a hero.
@PrisonerNumber9653 The UN isn't a super government that gets to infringe upon our sovreinty whenever it wants to do so and he had access to secret information putting him in a general population would be stupid.
@TheMurmen Fuck "sovereignty" which just means "we live how we want and screw everyone else".
Putting him in the general population? Are you fucking KIDDING?? This isn't some mad-dog who stabbed people to death! He was a whistle-blower who let us see information we had every right to see. The US government is violating not just international law but our own laws and standards. The idea that being in the military means the rules don't apply is fascism.
@PrisonerNumber9653 Who exactly wants bradley manning jailed for what he thought? I want him jailed for what he did and it was not free speach. If he had done the same with nuclear secrets would we even be having this conversation or would you just acknowledge that the effects of his actions are the same as if he had been involved in espionage? The diplomatic cables did not reveal anything insidious but he released them all the same. he wanted attention and an end to a boring life not justice.
@TheMurmen Those in the government and military who want their lies and crimes hidden. He committed no crime and has no place in jail, and has been tortured and badly mistreated in custody, which should lead to immediate dismissal of all charges. This claim that his actions should be compared to "nuclear secrets" is off the tracks, they're not remotely connected.
The cables DID reveal a GREAT DEAL that is insidious, and justice IS what this was about not, "boring life" or "attention".
@PrisonerNumber9653 If he didn't just want attention then why did he release so much information that makes the world a more dangerous place. For instance the names of informants in both Iraq and Afghanistan. China's support for a unified democratic Korea, that one release may lead to a limited nuclear war BTW. The Arab world's almost unanimous support for a US invasion of Iran, again might lead to a nuclear war in the middle east. Why were those releases necessary?
@TheMurmen He didn't, jackass. He released information that will make the world a SAFER place. The fact that the US is committing these atrocities SHOULD be the start of getting them ended. Except here we are months later, practically nothing's changed, and Manning is still being mistreated in jail. The press did NOTHING responsibly.
The idea that FACTS are going to lead to war, while we're ALREADY murdering hundreds of thousands of people in a war is awfully far-fetched.
@PrisonerNumber9653 look dude I'm not going to respond to you if you straight out insult me. There's no need for people to treat each other that way in political discussions that have no bearing on actual policy changes.
@PrisonerNumber9653 What treason did he reveal?! name me one thing that came out of the diplomatic cables he stole that people didn't already think was going on and makes the US gov't look like dicks. Also when you join the military you lose certain civil rights for the greater good and they tell that to you upon entry into the military. How else could you be treated so badly in ranger or sear school.
@TheMurmen You're kidding, right? That MASSIVE amounts of torture and mistreatment of prisoners was proven is suddenly OK because "people thought it was already going on"? We were TELLING people it was and NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. This SHOULD have brought about massive change, sadly, the right wing media is too cowardly to report what we revealed.
NO, you do NOT lose your rights when you join the military, and hiding war crimes is NOT "the greater good."
@PrisonerNumber9653 "What treason did he reveal" still unanswered. As an officer in the United States army I can tell you that you sure as shit lose most of your rights when in the military. What other organizations can jail you for not being at work or execute you for quitting abruptly. What other organizations can torture you or deny you food (ranger/sear school). Also the torture aspects didn't exactly come out in the diplomatic cables now did they. Read whay i write before posting.
@TheMurmen The war crimes AND attempts to hide them from the American people are acts of treason, this is a nation where we do NOT have a mililtary dictatorship which gets to commit any war crimes it sees fit, hide them from their BOSSES, the American people, then lock up and torture those who try to get us the information we're MEANT to have is sick and wrong, directly counter to what we believe in as a nation.
@PrisonerNumber9653 From my understanding none of the war crimes outlined were systematic and almost all were accidental, airstrikes and all. Also the worst ones, the prisoner abuse, was being prosecuted even at the time of the leak. As for the air strikes we live in a world of industrialized warfare and mistakes are going to happen, you can't just stop using airpower. If the American people didn't know that was going on then they need to read a book.
@TheMurmen Wow, what a tool you are. Yeah, we accidentally tortured people. Oops, sorry. That we continue to "accidentally" blow thousands of people off the face of the planet should NOT be hidden, the military's kept the blood and the dead hidden away, the press ignores the anti-war movement, and it's all PR to make it a happy little war we can old hold hands and sing behind.
We MADE the world of industrial warfare. "Mistakes are going to happen"? If your child were killed, would you buy that?
Bradley Manning, period...If you want to fight evil, as we all should do, take out the uniform and don't do by jeopardizing the lives of 300,000,000 Americans while sharing our own secrets (even if they are some dirty secrets) with the whole fucking world; Is this guy a retard or what? What he did is not a fucking joke. He deserves the death penalty. Hopefully, he would fry in the electric chair the same way the Rosenbergs did in 1953.
@Gilbert2112 Oh, the pathetic lie that he "endangered" everyone in the military isn't hysterical enough, now by TELLING THE TRUTH every single person in the nation will be killed. Good grief.
No, what he did isn't a joke, it was incredible brave and noble. Why are we mad at him and saying NOTHING about the terrible things OUR NATION and OUR MILITARY is doing?
It's perfect that bring up Rosenbergs, more innocent people murdered by far right hysteria. NOBODY deserves the death penalty.
@PrisonerNumber9653 I totally agree with you, nobody deserves the Death Penalty, no one, except this little piece of shit. He enlisted in the US Army to become an intelligent analyst so he could gain access to secret documents that involves US diplomatic tactics and intelligent operations. Then, he would expose to the World how we conduct our private affairs. Before anything else, comes National Security and Defense. This little punk is a traitor and he must be executed.
@Gilbert2112 This "little piece of shit" who's ONLY "crime" was TELLING THE TRUTH? You'd have him murdered for that, while ignoring the real criminals here? Truly vile.
If we conducted our "private affairs" (this is OUR GOVERNMENT, OUR MILITARY, this shouldn't be considered "private"...they work for us) in a way that was NOT an overwhelming violation of the law AND what this nation is supposed to stand for, it wouldn't have happened.
He is NOT a traitor, and murdering him would be a crime.
And this country (USA) positions and propagandizes itself the most democratic and free country in the world? The lie and hypocrisy of Americans doesn't know a limit! The USA - the EVIL OF EMPIRE!!!
@deglomerant Thats funny a polish person calling someone else an idiot. Hitler conquered your country by walking in backwards and saying he was leaving. You don't like the policy? Too damn bad you're weak and you are not important. As for Manning execute him. As for the guy in this video that looks like he was struck by lightning, you don't have two good points to rub together. Fools.
@madashell1200 This man changed the story without killing any man .. This man had lived in 1939, maybe that was not the II war....sry for my poor English
Manning is curently being psycologicaly tortured. He has been in compleate isolation 23 hours a day for 8 months. That leavs permanent scars in your psyche.
Investigate the Bush/Obama Demoreplican war monger 911 set up and trial them for killing citizens in other countries - In plan words for terrorism and free Manning
@AmerikanPatriot I think you should change your Youtube name. You're not a patriot, you're a drone and an activist for willful ignorance. The only thing that is more dangerous than the dillusion that America is this utopia that is superior to everyone else, are the people like you that believe and support that notion.
my question is simply this,.. if he is in custody and the government says they do not know the details of how the leaks actually happened ,.. will bradley be WATERBOARDED so they can find out ,.. and if not, why not,.. it was ok for them to do such deplorable things to others , why not him ,.. it's a lose -lose for the governing powers.
What about a dishonorable mention to Davis Fleetwood for misinforming people about history, suggesting the government knew about and let happen the tragedies at 9/11 and Pearl Harbor when that is in fact demonstrably not true?
Person of the Year, lol. He is a criminal and will spend the rest of his life in prison, I would personally seek the death penalty for this traitor. He took and oath and signed a contract to serve and protect as an intelligence officer, he's an idiot.
@murk2002 What part of wikileaks do you think doesn't fall under the mandate of serve and protect, and what part of the american military involvement in Iraq, in your opinion, does?
@Fullprime This person who leaked this information is not a memeber of the media or a civilian. He was maliciously searching databases, which were not part of his job in Iraq to do harm. This was not his job in Iraq, did he join the military to spy? So you think he should be able to continue to serve without any consequences?
@murk2002 No he joined the military to protect his home country, but to his disgust discovered that the military was instead being used for personal greed by the lobyists and Religious nutters in governement against the best interests of the very people he joined the military to protect. In any free thinker's opinion, by supplying the information he did the job he was paid to do, protect lives. Dishonerable discharge yes, jail sentence and possible execution, no.
@Fullprime To begin with he joined the military during a time of war/conflict meaning Iraq & Afganistan. Are you that simple to think he didn't presume by joining the army as an intelligence officer he wasn't going to the conflict zone? He "joined" the military which could mean you could go anywhere. If you get a "dishonerable" discharge, the means you did something wrong right? Stop making excuses for bad and illegal behavior. It's not like he stumbled on these documents he searched for them
@murk2002 I know the leaks will cause dangers to some people, they are in Afghanistan and Pakistan without guns and rockets. And now, Zionist controlled wiki pedia dot org so you won't be able to find out details about unarmed civilian death tolls anymore.
@murk2002 WHEN YOU SAY ILLEGAL ....IS THAT LIKE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT....ILLEGAL MEXICAN...ILLEGAL MUSLIM TERRORIST FROM IRAQ AND MEXICO....ALL PEOPLE IN THE U.S. HERE ILLEGALLY....BECAUSE MUSLIM PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AS PUNISHMENT WE TRUE AMERICANS WILL PAY FOR THEIR COLLEGE......PUT BRADLEY MANNING IN COLLEGE FOR HIS BAD AND ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR OBAMA......STOP THIS WAR....AND YOU BUSH AND BUSH GO TO IRAQ FOR SAFETY!!!!!!!
@murk2002 WHEN YOU SAY ILLEGAL ....IS THAT LIKE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT....ILLEGAL MEXICAN...ILLEGAL MUSLIM TERRORIST FROM IRAQ AND MEXICO....ALL PEOPLE IN THE U.S. HERE ILLEGALLY....BECAUSE MUSLIM PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS SAID THAT AS PUNISHMENT WE TRUE AMERICANS WILL PAY FOR THEIR COLLEGE......PUT BRADLEY MANNING IN COLLEGE FOR HIS BAD AND ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR OBAMA......STOP THIS WAR... THEN YOU BUSH AND BUSH GO TO IRAQ FOR SAFETY!!!!!!!
@Fullprime So exactly how did a PFC see these thing? I'm a junior officer and if they exist I'm not at a high enough rank to see them. They aren't in any of the wikileaks. Read them they actually make the US government look pretty good minus the accidental lighting up of that reuters crew. All manning shows is the failure of US army mental health programs. He had access to the secret internet(siprnet) after he had been banned from being issued weapons
@Fullprime well, im pretty sure to serve and protect is the mantra of law enforcement. as a soldier I took an oath to ensure the survival of the constitution. not any one person or office.
@krasnovianSPY So in your opinion, the invasion of Iraq which has since been proven to increase the personal risk of terrorist reprisal, is OK but wikileaks isn't. What do you define as the survival of the Constitution? Are you aware that over the last 10 years the constitution has undergone more changes than Joan Rivers? For instance, in the original document the Government was forbidden from allowing Religion to influence their decisions? So much for survival.
Where did you get your belief that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's rally was a "rally against rallying" or a "protest against protesting"? That was certainly not their aim. It was actually an EXAMPLE of how to have a proper protest or rally. A group of sane people getting together for the purpose of demonstrating the proper way to gather to express your opinions.
They most certainly have nothing against the constitutional right to gather or protest. You just lost at least one viewer...
Lol yeah actually he does care since he just sent out a spam message asking me to tell my friends about his channel. Check my profile page it is in the comments section. Man I am sorry you have such poor timing, that sucks. That is besides the point though. Lets not fight, you are cute as hell lets have gay sex together.
I listen to Driftglass and Bluegal podcast. They're basically like a podcasting... well, Davis Fleetwood. Spicy, intelligent liberals podcasting from their apartments who aren't afraid to verbally bitchslap the president. Check it out if you want.
@davisfleetwood Oh, wait, I'm sorry, they sarcastically go by "The Professional Left," now, after Gibbs shot his mouth off, that time. I'm glad you're interested.
You know, Garuffalo's endorsement really turns me off - she is neither funny, nor intellectually honest. I may share some of her opinions, but my arguments for them make sense, rather than being just a useless, impotent tirade. She really bombed here in the UK - her act relies on the audience both agreeing with her and finding what she says at all 'edgy'. Here, even in front of sympathetic fringe audiences, she just comes across as a simple-minded journo, lacking wit or warmth.
I feel sorry for Bradley, going to jail for exposing the lies of the goverment. I guess all freedom fighters and rebels have to sacrifice something for the greater good. It wouldn't even be necesarry if so many politicians didn't think "The Prince" was an instruction manual.
i don't know if i trust assange. information he leaks seems to make the case to benefit the global governance campaign more than the people. whether he is in concert with the plot to diminsh freedoms or he is being used as a tool for some other means is still up in the air. we know the medias talking points are bombarded by buerocrat talking points, so why would the new york tiems leak the information from assange? everything needs to be analyzed, the powers that be seek to distort perceptions.
Democracy Now! is the only podcast I listen to. I have seen a lot of informative tv and web shows, dozens of different newspapers and magazines, hundreds of websites, and yet I think Democracy Now is the best single source of information about world events.
@blueridger28 Yes, the docs were located on a servers that only people with classified clearance could access. Turns out MILLIONS of people now have such access. No joke. MILLIONS.
@xchainlinkx definitely. Everyone who opposes the START streaty. They're the worst, and should be hunted down like Julian Assange, by which I mean more effectively than bin Laden.
@olofpalme63 well, I could say the same thing about any person who ever wore a uniform and followed orders. But I won't, because there's almost always more to it. And I'm glad Davis made video, because otherwise, I'd never have thought about the guy this much. And i might have forgotten about Bradley Manning. He's already being forgotten by many, his show stolen by Assange (like Steven Wozniak's was by Steve Jobs). And it shouldn't, because this man is the most influential soldier since WWII.
Oh, and another deserving honorable mention: Glenn Greenwald from Salon.com, who has consistently documented criticized US-civil-liberties abuses during the last decade and has continued to do so without fail, despite the change in who is in charge of the executive branch...
@Brandt761 I have no axe to grind w. TYT.... i just never really got into them. only so many hours in a day, and I need to create and consume content.... i will give them another shot though, on your say so
@davisfleetwood I'm glad to hear that, tell me what you think, especially if you don't like it, because frankly, I find it a little eerie how much I agree with them, and wonder if I've been brainwashed. i mean, all my other news outlets, I can list their transgrassions.
Salon? Sucking up to the religious left, Michael Lind's DNC liberalism.
Daily Show: false equivocation.
Olbermann: overly dramatic, but I don't really watch anymore
TYT? Lame jokes that I happen to like, and it isn't pertinent.
the _only_ podcast you listen to, Davis? Are you seriously gonna tell me you don't tune into TheYoungTurks? They really are the most reasonable show in America, in the best sense of the word (which is decidedly _not_ the John Stewart sense). Or is that really just me?
In my opinion, Cenk Uygur blows Stewart, Olbermann and Maddow out of the water (not Colbert, since that guy does a very different kind of job). And talking of Uygur he should definitely get an honorable mention.
@Brandt761 In fact, Cenk would probably be my pick for Man of the Year. But I can't argue with Manning as your winner, since his actions, though they could be seen (and are portrayed by the media) as a little punkish, were probably good for the world on a totally different level.
All of your choices were excellent, except you severely misunderstood what John Stewart and Colbert set out to do. The rally, as the title suggested, was meant to call attention to the fact that politics are completely, well, insane. And, as your video coverage of the event proved, it was NOT a slacktavist convention, given that lady handed your ass to you on a silver platter when you called her one.
I love that you put up Citizen Radio! I've been listening to them for months. They brighten my days when, even though I go to an art school, the bleakness of my narrow minded peers gets me down.

TheMurmen 3 months ago
@TheMurmen Fuck "sovereignty" which just means "we live how we want and screw everyone else".
Putting him in the general population? Are you fucking KIDDING?? This isn't some mad-dog who stabbed people to death! He was a whistle-blower who let us see information we had every right to see. The US government is violating not just international law but our own laws and standards. The idea that being in the military means the rules don't apply is fascism.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 Who exactly wants bradley manning jailed for what he thought? I want him jailed for what he did and it was not free speach. If he had done the same with nuclear secrets would we even be having this conversation or would you just acknowledge that the effects of his actions are the same as if he had been involved in espionage? The diplomatic cables did not reveal anything insidious but he released them all the same. he wanted attention and an end to a boring life not justice.
TheMurmen 3 months ago
@TheMurmen Those in the government and military who want their lies and crimes hidden. He committed no crime and has no place in jail, and has been tortured and badly mistreated in custody, which should lead to immediate dismissal of all charges. This claim that his actions should be compared to "nuclear secrets" is off the tracks, they're not remotely connected.
The cables DID reveal a GREAT DEAL that is insidious, and justice IS what this was about not, "boring life" or "attention".
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 If he didn't just want attention then why did he release so much information that makes the world a more dangerous place. For instance the names of informants in both Iraq and Afghanistan. China's support for a unified democratic Korea, that one release may lead to a limited nuclear war BTW. The Arab world's almost unanimous support for a US invasion of Iran, again might lead to a nuclear war in the middle east. Why were those releases necessary?
TheMurmen 3 months ago
@TheMurmen He didn't, jackass. He released information that will make the world a SAFER place. The fact that the US is committing these atrocities SHOULD be the start of getting them ended. Except here we are months later, practically nothing's changed, and Manning is still being mistreated in jail. The press did NOTHING responsibly.
The idea that FACTS are going to lead to war, while we're ALREADY murdering hundreds of thousands of people in a war is awfully far-fetched.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 look dude I'm not going to respond to you if you straight out insult me. There's no need for people to treat each other that way in political discussions that have no bearing on actual policy changes.
TheMurmen 2 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 What treason did he reveal?! name me one thing that came out of the diplomatic cables he stole that people didn't already think was going on and makes the US gov't look like dicks. Also when you join the military you lose certain civil rights for the greater good and they tell that to you upon entry into the military. How else could you be treated so badly in ranger or sear school.
TheMurmen 4 months ago
@TheMurmen You're kidding, right? That MASSIVE amounts of torture and mistreatment of prisoners was proven is suddenly OK because "people thought it was already going on"? We were TELLING people it was and NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. This SHOULD have brought about massive change, sadly, the right wing media is too cowardly to report what we revealed.
NO, you do NOT lose your rights when you join the military, and hiding war crimes is NOT "the greater good."
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 "What treason did he reveal" still unanswered. As an officer in the United States army I can tell you that you sure as shit lose most of your rights when in the military. What other organizations can jail you for not being at work or execute you for quitting abruptly. What other organizations can torture you or deny you food (ranger/sear school). Also the torture aspects didn't exactly come out in the diplomatic cables now did they. Read whay i write before posting.
TheMurmen 3 months ago
@TheMurmen The war crimes AND attempts to hide them from the American people are acts of treason, this is a nation where we do NOT have a mililtary dictatorship which gets to commit any war crimes it sees fit, hide them from their BOSSES, the American people, then lock up and torture those who try to get us the information we're MEANT to have is sick and wrong, directly counter to what we believe in as a nation.
PrisonerNumber9653 3 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 From my understanding none of the war crimes outlined were systematic and almost all were accidental, airstrikes and all. Also the worst ones, the prisoner abuse, was being prosecuted even at the time of the leak. As for the air strikes we live in a world of industrialized warfare and mistakes are going to happen, you can't just stop using airpower. If the American people didn't know that was going on then they need to read a book.
TheMurmen 3 months ago
@TheMurmen Wow, what a tool you are. Yeah, we accidentally tortured people. Oops, sorry. That we continue to "accidentally" blow thousands of people off the face of the planet should NOT be hidden, the military's kept the blood and the dead hidden away, the press ignores the anti-war movement, and it's all PR to make it a happy little war we can old hold hands and sing behind.
We MADE the world of industrial warfare. "Mistakes are going to happen"? If your child were killed, would you buy that?

What he did is not a fucking joke. He deserves the death penalty. Hopefully, he would fry in the electric chair the same way the Rosenbergs did in 1953.
Gilbert2112 9 months ago
@Gilbert2112 Oh, the pathetic lie that he "endangered" everyone in the military isn't hysterical enough, now by TELLING THE TRUTH every single person in the nation will be killed. Good grief.
No, what he did isn't a joke, it was incredible brave and noble. Why are we mad at him and saying NOTHING about the terrible things OUR NATION and OUR MILITARY is doing?
It's perfect that bring up Rosenbergs, more innocent people murdered by far right hysteria. NOBODY deserves the death penalty.
PrisonerNumber9653 9 months ago
@PrisonerNumber9653 I totally agree with you, nobody deserves the Death Penalty, no one, except this little piece of shit. He enlisted in the US Army to become an intelligent analyst so he could gain access to secret documents that involves US diplomatic tactics and intelligent operations. Then, he would expose to the World how we conduct our private affairs. Before anything else, comes National Security and Defense. This little punk is a traitor and he must be executed.
Gilbert2112 9 months ago
@Gilbert2112 This "little piece of shit" who's ONLY "crime" was TELLING THE TRUTH? You'd have him murdered for that, while ignoring the real criminals here? Truly vile.
If we conducted our "private affairs" (this is OUR GOVERNMENT, OUR MILITARY, this shouldn't be considered "private"...they work for us) in a way that was NOT an overwhelming violation of the law AND what this nation is supposed to stand for, it wouldn't have happened.
He is NOT a traitor, and murdering him would be a crime.

@murk2002 What part of wikileaks do you think doesn't fall under the mandate of serve and protect, and what part of the american military involvement in Iraq, in your opinion, does?
Fullprime 1 year ago
@Fullprime This person who leaked this information is not a memeber of the media or a civilian. He was maliciously searching databases, which were not part of his job in Iraq to do harm. This was not his job in Iraq, did he join the military to spy? So you think he should be able to continue to serve without any consequences?
murk2002 1 year ago
@murk2002 No he joined the military to protect his home country, but to his disgust discovered that the military was instead being used for personal greed by the lobyists and Religious nutters in governement against the best interests of the very people he joined the military to protect. In any free thinker's opinion, by supplying the information he did the job he was paid to do, protect lives. Dishonerable discharge yes, jail sentence and possible execution, no.
Fullprime 1 year ago 12
@Fullprime To begin with he joined the military during a time of war/conflict meaning Iraq & Afganistan. Are you that simple to think he didn't presume by joining the army as an intelligence officer he wasn't going to the conflict zone? He "joined" the military which could mean you could go anywhere. If you get a "dishonerable" discharge, the means you did something wrong right? Stop making excuses for bad and illegal behavior. It's not like he stumbled on these documents he searched for them
murk2002 1 year ago

@Fullprime So exactly how did a PFC see these thing? I'm a junior officer and if they exist I'm not at a high enough rank to see them. They aren't in any of the wikileaks. He had access to the secret internet(siprnet) after he had been banned from being issued weapons

Here, even in front of sympathetic fringe audiences, she just comes across as a simple-minded journo, lacking wit or warmth.

the _only_ podcast you listen to, Davis? Are you seriously gonna tell me you don't tune into TheYoungTurks? They really are the most reasonable show in America, in the best sense of the word (which is decidedly _not_ the John Stewart sense). Or is that really just me?
In my opinion, Cenk Uygur blows Stewart, Olbermann and Maddow out of the water (not Colbert, since that guy does a very different kind of job). And talking of Uygur he should definitely get an honorable mention.
Brandt761 1 year ago
@Brandt761 In fact, Cenk would probably be my pick for Man of the Year. But I can't argue with Manning as your winner, since his actions, though they could be seen (and are portrayed by the media) as a little punkish, were probably good for the world on a totally different level.
Brandt761 1 year ago
All of your choices were excellent, except you severely misunderstood what John Stewart and Colbert set out to do. The rally, as the title suggested, was meant to call attention to the fact that politics are completely, well, insane. And, as your video coverage of the event proved, it was NOT a slacktavist convention, given that lady handed your ass to you on a silver platter when you called her one.
