Logically, this comes from the same tape that the 12/13/79 episode of "Mindreaders" was on, since "Wheel" and "Mind" aired back-to-back during the latter's entire run.

Must not have had time to say goodbye as was the case with WOF through the early syndicated years as well, even when the show was the most watched game show on TV(and still is with the possible exception of prime time WWTBAM circa 2000)
I remember seeing the episode from New Year's Eve 1979, and I know the two values that were increased in 1980. That tan $150 became $250, and that red $200 by the $1500 became $800. So for a total layout increase of $700, I wouldn't say that's too bad for the standards of the time. BTW, kudos to that lady who bought that car!
