  • Fascinating little snippet. Despite it being so short, it *does* help fill-in a detail -- $2,000 is top dollar by this point, and *not* New Year's Eve as I had previously thought.

    Logically, this comes from the same tape that the 12/13/79 episode of "Mindreaders" was on, since "Wheel" and "Mind" aired back-to-back during the latter's entire run.

  • And in those days, promo V/O's as heard over the end credits were done by Vic Roby (who's heard here).

  • I remember seeing the episode from New Year's Eve 1979, and I know the two values that were increased in 1980. That tan $150 became $250, and that red $200 by the $1500 became $800. So for a total layout increase of $700, I wouldn't say that's too bad for the standards of the time. BTW, kudos to that lady who bought that car!
