Want some advice everyone? Sydney is the ugliest part of australia. If you are aussie like me then you will hopefully belive this. I suggest if you want toce to australia go to a noce place like alice springs or the blue mountains where there is lots of wildlife like koalas and kangaroos and kookaburras, not sydney with its huge ugly buildings looming up on both sides.
Cool video, the nice parts of Sydney are very nice, but the bad parts are well, downright terrible. For holidays fantastic, but Brisbane is nicer, even though I run a website called escape sydney ha ha. I love Sydney though, interesting place and pretty vibrant.

It can be warm or cold- some days it can be 10 degrees c, some days it can be 30 degrees c. A few years ago it snowed for the first time ever in Sydney!The water is always cold - even in summer but it is really refreshing in the blistering heat. When it rains, it's usually a huge storm rolling in from the ocean, we don't usually get light rain. Australia is the driest continent in the world. I have lived all over the world and I definitely think Sydney has the best climate.

Drastically reducing migrants coming from Asia and Africa is the first step to ensure a more safe, free and prosperous Australia.

Korea has a huge shipbuilding industry as well as the global leader in mobile phone technology and A global leader in quality appliances and consumer goods, televisions, fridges. It also has a large Auto industry.
taiwan has large industries in computer electronics with big name brands such as Azus and Acer. Many computer motherboards are made by Taiwanese companies as computer motherboards is a major industry. and no, not mass production like China, actual western style economy.

Most Asians will NOT assimilate. Assimilating people along racial lines has worked here but it doesn't work as well with others. Also every year large numbers of South and East Asians come which means their loyalties to their homelands keeps on getting regenerated. Want some advice everyone? Sydney is the ugliest part of australia. If you are aussie like me then you will hopefully belive this. I suggest if you want toce to australia go to a noce place like alice springs or the blue mountains where there is lots of wildlife like koalas and kangaroos and kookaburras, not sydney with its huge ugly buildings looming up on both sides.

Other large minority groups are include Chinese, Vietnamese and Lebanese, and Pacific Islanders. In the last few years there are more and more Africans, in some suburbs they are a significant minority group, and ofcourse Indigenous Australians, mostly sparse in the cities bar a neighbourhood or two, but some dense populations in regionall areas.

It can be warm or cold- some days it can be 10 degrees c, some days it can be 30 degrees c. A few years ago it snowed for the first time ever in Sydney!The water is always cold - even in summer but it is really refreshing in the blistering heat. When it rains, it's usually a huge storm rolling in from the ocean, we don't usually get light rain. Australia is the driest continent in the world. I have lived all over the world and I definitely think Sydney has the best climate.

Well so far the majority of Asians haven't been assimilating. This has to do with race whether you like it or not. Race is an important fault line in every society. Asia is from Turkey all the way across and up to Japan. I should have been more specific. What about Korea and Taiwan? They make half of what Australia makes per capita. In China 250 million people are middle class, and remember there are 1.3 billion of them in China. Most of that country still lives in poverty. This year has been tough but Australia is still in the top 5 of world living standards (HDI).

GDP (PPP) value of Taiwan is roughly 70 or so billion $US below us. Divide that by their population of 23 million and it is not too different from Australia.
Korea is actually richer than Australia. Samsung, LG, Hyundai etc. All big global companies from Korea.
Even if most live in 'poverty' the ones that live in poverty don't get here. no prob.

I wasn't talking about gross domestic product but the average amount people earn per capita income. Its true that S. Korea's GDP is slightly higher but its the living standards and yearly income I was referring to.

To me this is an important aspect of life but what's most important to us is the white Australian people, culture and traditions. With out that Australia wouldn't be Australia.

I agree with you, that the Australian people, culture and traditions is what makes Australia. What I am saying is that immigrants from Asia can adopt this culture and become Australians just like you and me. Some really love the country and would die for the country. Some have BBQs in the back verandah, they go out and integrate with people, they have an Australian accent, etc etc. When they go overseas, they say "I'm an Australian" (not Vietnamese or Thai) That's what being an Australian is

Yes but to get to GDP per capita you must divide it by the population. Anyway, it doesn't really make a difference, we all have high standards of living, Australia Korea and Taiwan.

I still go by my statement that the Chines do not live in poverty, they are extremely poor, but hardly poverty. You haven't seen poverty. Africans live in poverty.
I suggest that you go to wikipedia and type in Korea and Taiwan, you will be very very surprised. Korea has a huge shipbuilding industry as well as the global leader in mobile phone technology and A global leader in quality appliances and consumer goods, televisions, fridges. It also has a large Auto industry.

taiwan has large industries in computer electronics with big name brands such as Azus and Acer. Many computer motherboards are made by Taiwanese companies as computer motherboards is a major industry. and no, not mass production like China, actual western style economy.
and I am not saying that they are better than us because we don't have big consumer brand names. We make our money from different industries with companies such as BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto.

but the thing is, most of our immigrants do not come from these poverty stricken areas. and so what if some do? it's not like they are going to bring their poverty with them. Most Chinese immigrants come from Hong Kong, a somewhat capitalist SAR.

They are handing over our cities to alien populations so that their wallets can keep getting bigger. If our immigration policy wasn't abandoned in 1973 the Asian population would be around 1% today, which would have been fine. Now Australia is more then 8% Asian and rising. This is now a concern...

8% of Australia is 1,717,494 where as 1% is 214,686. If there was only one per cent that means they would only number around 85,000 in Sydney, that's if they really make up 40%.
The less of them there are the better for us. I really don't want Sydney to turn into another New York.

Most people of other races don't assimilate properly or at all and that's been proven. If you're hoping for them to integrate, please, don't hold your breath on it. Remember 1901? Although I see myself as aussie, assimilation for other immigrants is not the answer. We would be a fickle cntry if one was expected to so easily give up their heritage. U yourself do not want to lose your roots. I think the real issue is immigrants need to learn how to speak english and respect each other. Only then can the barriers between cultures be destroyed through understanding. Nobody is threatening to take away what u believe so why would u impose this on others? It all starts with u

I understand that immigrants don't want to give up their heritage, but this problem has been overcome in many cases with ppl of European backgrounds. They've been able to assimilate and integrate with much more ease. This cant be said about ppl of different racial backgrounds. If we are not threatened then why do we have "racial & religious vilification" laws which denies our freedom of speech? If u want to openly practice religion/culture & have loyalties else where then stay in ur own country.

Unlike you, at least the majority of immigrants seems to try to belong and bring a richness of culture that adds to the rather bland culture my ancestors brought.

Most Asians will NOT assimilate. Assimilating people along racial lines has worked here but it doesn't work as well with others. Also every year large numbers of South and East Asians come which means their loyalties to their homelands keeps on getting regenerated. This 8% will turn to 15% then 25% then 35% and then this country will no longer be the Australia it once was.

The ones that "have" assimilate are small in comparison to the ones that haven't. History has shown that multiracial/cultural societies fail in the long run. If you think I'm "racist" then so are the Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Indians, Iranians, Arabs and most of the world. All these people I mentioned are against outsiders settling in their lands but they're free to come here in large numbers and force their ideas and cultures at the expense of real Australians.
