i took my salt gen back. it had to run like 10 hours just to make a pint of salt cloride bleach. So now i just add a little clorox every other day. perfect!
If I want to be wet in my garden, I just have to walk out into it. English Summer - not that we haven't got hose pipe bans on the horizon because of the "drought".
20 000 litres water and 60 kg salt gets a 1/3 % saline concentration, isn't that a bit low? ( sea water 3 - 4 %) Does a higher concentation occur along the intake doing the job of killing bacteria? ( UV as well ?) Hope you get a good chance to enjoy it this summer, Cheers.
@SaintCog The beauty of this system is that it doesn't need a lot of salt to produce a safe chlorine and algaecide. The concentration is no more salty than ones tears.
Interesting. Except I live in Ireland and the weather here right now is probably what you would expect to have over there in .... say ... January. Ugh.

@GoMetricToday I'm wondering if it's possible for a man to say "moist" and not sound gay? I suspect not.

@SaintCog The bags of salt needed are 18 kg per bag. For a pool that is 1.2 m deep and 5.4 m round. 4 to 5 bags of salt is all that is needed.
