  • I love the original but this is a bad ass cover!

@fayafoxlilly: there was never any video made as far as I know. It was on the Punisher soundtrack (the Thomas Jane version)

  • Good cover, I like that they ddin't completely tear it apart and make it completely their own. Very respectful to Romeo Void, and the original feel and sound of the original version.

  • where is the video.. im staring at a blank screen.. Nice cover

  • I am a QOTSA fan and a fan of 80s music but without youtube I never would have heard this.

  • interesting.... its respectful to th original, but has its own style...

  • Love QOTSA but the solo sounds like they're playing kazoos....

  • You don't get the full effect unless it's you fullscreen it.

  • i like this version better, but i was born in the 90's.

  • Take some acid, smoke weed, the put on this song.

  • was that a kazoo

  • was that a kazoo

  • This gets a thumb up b'cuz it's not a dupe of the original music!

Still, nothing touches the original! She could kick all your azzes!

  • Pretty good cover. Give it up to the origional!!!

  • wow this divides us all doesn't it? The original is friggin' badass, this cover is also badass. I love 'em both. The kazoo? I thought it was a guitar effect?? If it is a kazoo i think it just makes this even more awesome :D Peace, Love, Respect x

  • pretty good cover but no romeo void. they need to dirty it up some more, just a little to slow.

  • i dont remember this song being on the punisher... which part is it in?

  • not a bad cover, good on it's own, but nowhere near the same frantic, urgent, almost unhinged sexual energy of the original. i am sure that it probably sounded great when QOTSA played it live, though, especially if they picked up the tempo.

The original Romeo Void track is definitely one of my favourites of all time. It made Grade 9 slightly more bearable.

  • who originally made this song

  • @iplaydrums18

    romeo void.

  • Ah..takes me back to seeing the Punisher at midnight all those years ago

  • time itself was his demeanor

  • awesome song

  • awesome song

  • Kazoo...wait, what?

  • ORIGINAL ,,,, SORRY!!!

  • niiice cover

  • A pretty fair cover, I think. It lacks Deborah Iyall's raunchy vibe, and IMHO, the kazoo doesn't do justice to the original's sax player. Still, it's a good rockin' tune and it's WAYYYY better than the shitty version by Vandalism.

    4/5 stars.

  • @themaxxfan the vandalism version is awesome! im just gonna say this to start shit and have some fun but ROCK IS DEAD (:

  • @jhultquist000 Not dead, but on life support and barely hanging on.

  • there's always something creepy about hearing a guy sing a chic's tune.

  • wow they're not bringing anything to this version. the original slaughters this lameness.

  • no! it's Queens of the Stone Age!

    ;D

  • Eh, not so hot compared to the original. Still, it's cool someone took on the job of doing the cover. And I like the kazoo!

  • is that a kazoo I hear during the guitar breaks? Awesome.

  • whats all the flap about doing a cool cover ?

grow up , or maybe regress,

    cool is cool !!

life is too fucking short not to have fun with it . :)

  • were can i download this cover?!

  • I'm an old grandmother, but I loved QOTSA the first time I heard them. This is a wicked cover. Gives me hope for the future of punk/grunge.

    L:D

  • @louiseduvee i thought you were gonna say it gives you a chill down your leg. XD

  • @louiseduvee sorry but i cant quit picturing an old lady in her chair knittin and rocking to this thanx gives me hope ha

  • You're entitled to your opinion....but I dig the cover. You're cool because you actually know romeo void...Good job

  • @93steven and you're entitled to yours...but you don't explain why; i dont think i'm cool, it's just a song i remember from 80's and i liked 20 years ago...it is common that actual bands destroy classic hits when they cover them songs cause they are more worried to be cool than to be interested in understand the sound of another time...

  • My band is starting to do a cover of this song. Im not sure whether I like it or not. We are covering a version similar to SLUNT's tho.

  • Wicked beans

  • everything Josh Hommes touchs turn to gold... i watched the original music's video.... it's pretty good too

  • Amen!

  • the cheeziest song ever but i can help singing along

  • mean song

  • The julien-k version rocks both versions. But i still prefer the original to this.

  • b4- Your absolutely right

  • Julien-K owns in all respects. I really can't stand the singing in this version or the original. Ugh...

  • I Now love this song, Josh makes it sound "rather" *wink* sexy :P Lol x

  • Homme's vocals are so much better than Romeo Voids.

  • greenlong your just wrong- this doe's not top the original- this version is too controlled-

  • Doesn't top the original, but is respectable not only performance-wise, but for the band selecting it to record in the first place.

  • This is a cool cover choice, but the original is much better.

  • This one is so much better than the original.

  • tyster- Nah- your full of crap- by what measure are you asserting that this version is better than the orig.??? this version is way too controlled are you a control freak? The original was way looser and that's why it caught on like fire.

  • I like the original much better!

  • what original?

  • By Romeo Void! By far..the better one, as usual.

  • dpmduran- absolutely right- and it's usually correct that the orig. is better than any cover-...

  • so.... what inspired you to say the same thing three times to completely different people? do you just like to get your opinions across in a large and 'controlled' way? oh and by the way josh homme does in fact mean sex in the dictionary

  • superlostswainguy so.... what inspired you to become an asshat? can't you live with the fact that this version sucks compared to the original and these clowns shouldn't have bothered? and how is it that this tightly controlled piece of fluff cover appeals to your sensibilities so overwhelmingly that you feel desperate to address my obviously right on assessment of it? and also why are you so desperate to talk about sex?

  • because i'm addicted to that shit man. sex practically IS my life. also i think you need to just chill out. smoke a fat pound or 7 of weed and enjoy the fact that someone wishes to have alternate opinions to you. i personally admire anyone who wishes to cover a song and change it up a bit. that's the whole point of a cover. i also am a huge josh homme/qotsa fan and so therefore i get erections when i listen to this. you interrupt those fabulous erections :D

  • I give you 10,000 internets for using the word "asshat" :D

  • just get the fact that some people might not agree with you, or even care about what you think. you're not really that important mr. alphaomega

get some real friends instead of blabbering on about things we dont really care about

if you like this song you do, if you dont then we dont really give a fuck

sex rules you should try it sometime

  • Daproloserdude- the conversation has nothing to do with sex and yet you infantiles can't address any issue without involving your pecker- what's the problem there?

  • well sometimes I just feel like giving a message to my fellow homo sapiens, especially the lost ones

  • this is sick kicks the original by far queens fuckn rock

  • Sexy as focK!

  • Josh Homme's voice is so good for this song =]

  • Great cover! Romeo Void's version is a little better.

  • joshua homme is so hot

  • Indeed.

  • QOTSA did a great cover of this.

  • @lilrascal014 well, technically, this IS their cover. it's not like they're covering their cover. (they don't call me persnickety for nothing.)

  • @lilrascal014 , it actually sounds as if it was from the 1980s!

  • @ultimatemegadeath It is. Romeo Void's first album came out in 1981.

  • Instrumentally, I like the cover. Voice takes some getting used to. Nice effort.

  • Damn! This is one of the best covers I have ever heard..they do absolute justice to Romeo Void..thanks for posting..this song still kicks ass..

  • this track is also a b-side on the cd-single off "feel good hot of the summer"

you cant miss that cd since the packshot shows the letters of "feel good hit.." put together by various substances (adressed in the song) on a table

one of my QOTSA faves, sadly a neglected song even by most q-fans

  • love this song but it sux vus u can't by it on i tunes unless u buy the whole punisher soundtrack :(

  • love this song thx man!
