  • i have the same but cold steel

  • Fantasy sword, nice wall hanger, but not even close to a Roman sword.

  • Funny story...

I started collecting swords a few years ago, and before I knew good from bad quality, I bought this exact same blade off of Ebay. This YouTube channel stole the same description of the product off of the website, complete with the same typos and everything. Let me just say:

This thing is terrible. It isn't carbon steel, it's just terrible quality stainless. The handle is plastic, and the "wing" on the hilt broke right off. Stay away from this sword!

  • not like a Roman sword at al.. what a peice of crap

  • I got this short sword at a place in Upper Michigan a few years ago. I'm using it as a "beat-up" sword now.

Tip's chipped off, one of the "medallions" from the cross guard fell out (replaced it with a quarter that I hammered in), pommel fell out and i smushed it back in with some duct tape wrapped on it, and its really rusty from being left outside in the yard for a winter :P

But this is all of course a result of years of abuse haha.

  • That looks so fake...

  • what is the exact name of that sword...I used to have it and loved it

  • @gh3master69 spatha

  • @HoboCopStudios do you know what the brand is? where can i get 1

  • @gh3master69 try google and spatha or armor of a god .com

  • hey man whats that sword called? i used to have it but it got lst and i really liked it

  • @EdwinMarc Hey, no more a waste of money than buying video games or whatever else you buy (assuming that the blade is high quality and not fake)

  • @pyrea17 all of Zebrafirm's swords are low quality

  • @pyrea17 I was actually reffering at the fact that this blade is shit. I buy blades, but stage style blades, which last and are historically acurate!

  • what is the lengh of the blade???

  • I have a sword of this kind that i made the mistake to buy many years ago. The blade is all cast in copper with a silver-ish finish. And if there are one thing that i really hate in this world, it would be those mirror-plastic-overpolished metallic surfaces. It really ruins the sword and makes it look more like a plastic toy. This sword makes a very annoying sound when you handle it, it's VERY easy to pull apart and last but not least. THERE ARE F*****G WELDMARKS ON IT! All and all ugly.

  • My Gods..... This sword is so damn FAIL. And no, I agree that it's no Gladius. The gorgon and the pegas on the crossbar should be perfect proof of that. But nor do i thinks it's a Pugio. This is a fantasy replica of a Pugio. And a damn BAD one.

  • i got this same sword.

  • @IrishClanKing allright i got a question im a sword collector and ive recently become a fan of spartacus blood and sand and i like the sword design is there a place that offers real swords that arent replicas or wallhangers??

  • @thomas242007 Do you seriously believe that swords from beyond 2000 years ago still exist in original form? Basically none.. only heavily rusted remains still exist, plus illustrations and suchlike from old roman books.

  • @IrishClanKing from wher?

  • First, this is NOT a gladius. This is a pugio. Second, the gladius was NOT a "last resort" weapon. The Romans threw their pilum (spear), so yes, they would tend to lose them. The gladius was a close range killing machine, they used it when they met the enemy, wars were not fought with just spears. The Romans would get close to the enemy and kick their ass with the short swords. And yes, the gladius was based off the spanish sword. The Romans saw how effective it was.

  • You must of course remember that the Spanish were not who they were at the time. Back then they were still populated by the Celtic people. However, you are correct that the gladius was used, most often in the Roman legions' turtle of shields. God bless.

  • Celt-iberian tribes along Hispania (current Spain & Portugal) are the genetic basis of current spaniards & portugueses. Like celts are the genetic basis of current irish, walesh scottish or french people, and anglo-saxons respect english.

If you want to say that celtiberian tribes aren't current spaniards ok, idem that anglo-saxons tribes weren't current englishmen or vikings aren't current scandinavian people.

And yes, this isn't a gladius hispaninesis rather a kind of elongated pugio

  • the gladius had straighter edges, and was used practially as a last resort if he lost his spear

  • the gladius is a spanisch sword!

  • must agree not a roman gladius

  • This is not a gladius sword. This sword is short like a gladius but it is not even remotely close to resembling one in the way it is made. First of all the gladius had thick hand guards at the blade side of the handle as well as one at the butt of the sword. Of the three different styles of gladius the only one with a straight edge is the pompeiian gladius which looks nothing like this sword. All others are leaf blade designs adopted from Spain.

This is not a roman sword. Not even close.

  • this is definatly not a gladiusits likely looking at the art on the scabard that its not even roman, i might be wrong

a gladius has an enlarged tip and normaly two hand guards

  • WOW!

Thats really nice metal!(not the song but the sword yeah!)

  • why so short?

  • it was more of a knife that a sword, it was meant to be light weight and flexible against the romans enemies who often carried heavy swords or spears that could not be used efficiantly

  • Lol, brush up on your history, Romans used a lot of the phalanx tactic where they would make a wall of shields, throw spears as the enemy came at them and then draw swords, pushing them with the shields and then attacking them with the short swords I.E. see the very first fight scene vs the Persians in 300, after that it's all shit

  • That is a Gladius right? glad for response

  • sweet man

  • i got the same sword, just different designs on it!

  • gladius?

  • Lol! It's the sword of Hercules. I've got it as well. I got mine from Athens, Greece though. And it's really a piece of shit.

  • i know were to get 1

  • gladius i think, where can i get one? and how much? or r they unbuyable?

  • you'll have to look around there buyable though there rarely made from bronze anymore

  • That's actually a benefit, isn't it?

  • you could take a sword from the bronze age, sharpen it and still use it as a weapon today(and its just as strong as it was when it was first forged) lol they knew how to strengthen it back then but the art has been lost. a good carbon spring steel sword would do just fine especially if you want to do some cutting practice just make sure if you do its not a wall hanger it can be very dangerous. wall hangers are known to shatter or have the blade possibly fly off

  • Oh, alright. I see what you mean. What's a wall hanger? The kind made just for decoration?

  • yeah, wall hangers are really cheaply made so there only good for display purposes

  • that's not a gladius... thats something else

  • nice sword ! is it steal or carbon ?

  • i got the same at my home lol
