Over the last 5 seasons, Ovie has outdone Crosby in most if not close to every statistical category. The reason ovie is smarter is because he is able to create space like no other, that is how he gets so many shots and that is he he gets so many assists. Nobody does that like him. The key is being able to open up space for teammates and himself.

Look at it this way, without Crosby the Pens would have never won the cup and Team Canada would have never won the Gold. Moreover, Crosby makes every player he plays alongside a threat to score because of his remarkable ability to read and create plays, Ovechkin cannot do that he just rushes in and takes a shot and if he misses he makes a 'big hit' to keep his momentum going.

And for how he gets all of his assists. If you add up all of the assists he has, the ones off of rebounds amounts to 5 or 6 a season. Ovie doesn't care how they go in, as long as they go in. @sismoupm prove it. Crosby has had one better season than Ovechkin. Crosby plays like a pussy. No hitting, not fighting. Ovie is smarter, scores more goals, has more assists, has a better plus/minus, has more hits, more penalty minutes, in the last 5 seasons and plays on a team that doesn't have a cup contender every season and he still puts up first place stuff. One bad start and now Crosby is better than Ovechkin. There are some dumb hockey fans out there if they can't recognize this.

@Tupac4Everz no, no, no. Crosby may eventually be better than ovie, but I am not arguing potential. Over the last 5 seasons, Ovie has outdone Crosby in most if not close to every statistical category. The reason ovie is smarter is because he is able to create space like no other, that is how he gets so many shots and that is he he gets so many assists. Nobody does that like him. The key is being able to open up space for teammates and himself.

@omegaultima990 doesnt matter. if he is supposed to be a goal scoring winger to crosbys setup center postion then he isnt doing it. yea the first 4 seasons or whatever it was ovechkin was the goal scorer that crosby wasnt but sid is making that look like decades ago when ovechkin was the scorer. sid has 20 more goals than any other player in the last season and a half and you cant honestly going to think hes going to slow down? hes 23 he hasnt even peaked. its unreal to think what he can do

@athlete9393 You analyze things statistically but even then Crosby has a higher points per game average than Ovy. Look at it this way, without Crosby the Pens would have never won the cup and Team Canada would have never won the Gold. Moreover, Crosby makes every player he plays alongside a threat to score because of his remarkable ability to read and create plays, Ovechkin cannot do that he just rushes in and takes a shot and if he misses he makes a 'big hit' to keep his momentum going.

@SonnyA89 I'll analyze the other way too, I was just going with the flow. Anyway,there you are right, Ovie hits ppl where Crosby doesn't. Obviously he helped Canada and the Pens win their chamionships, he is their best player. How is it then that Ovie has more assts in the last 5 years if he all he does is shoots. The things he does is incredible. The only thing I can say I probably give Crosby is the defensive game, but even then, Ovie is more physical and can be more of a threat defensively.

@athlete9393 He has more assists because of the amount of shots he takes on net. Not all of his shots go in and those that don't get in are rebound goals scored by teammates. Ovechkin will never be a playmaker like Crosby quit dreaming. Crosby is still improving his game and will probably score more goals than Ovechkin for the next few years. Again Crosby has a higher points per game average throughout his career than Ovechkin and also has a higher shooting %.

@SonnyA89 Ovechkin has so many shots because he creates space and gets open. That is a key part to hockey remember. Just because he takes a lot of shots doesn't mean he is a puck shot. And for how he gets all of his assists. If you add up all of the assists he has, the ones off of rebounds amounts to 5 or 6 a season. Ovie doesn't care how they go in, as long as they go in. Also, I am not arguing who will be better in the future, the point is, Oive is better now.

So you back the guy with one of the greatest goaltenders ever, and after looking through the list, probably 19-20 hall of famers versus a russian team with less than half of the future hall of famers that the Canadian team had and not as good a goaltender. Again, pick one tournament, but Ovie has been better the last 5 seasons.

"allstar game" is a game between the best players from east and west division of the NHL..
i´t´s in the "allstar weekend"- there´s even a "hardest shot challenge" and "breakaway challenge" and so on.

Btw, I hoope some of you people arguing on here actually realise that All Star weekend isn't just about a big game its about the players going out there and having fun and genereally being silly. Playing hockey is their job so once in a while they are allowed to throw that away and just muck up and play silly!
