There is a reason only amateurs can race any 250 2-strokes in the 250 class since i pro can easily put down faster laps on a slightly modified 250 2-stroke, exhaust and suspension then on their factory bikes thats why the ama doesnt allow it so the manufactures dont lose money. Any skilled rider is faster 250 2 vs 250 4

Hi to all , this is my bike it not a 2012 that was just a joke , it's a 2006 kx250f frame with an 2007 kx250 engine , it was built by me for me in my garage , I've raced it this year and has done me very proud by winning my local club championship, I hope next year with some small mods to the bike I can still keep up with the front runners ,

motors a 2007, you can tell by the stator cover. And frame is 06/07, you can tell by the rib down the center of the sides of the frame behind shrouds. super sick....I built one with a '10 frame....2nd best bike in the world(1st is kx125)
Service Honda make these as a factory unit under licence from Kawasaki...they also make KX500's in the 250f frame... and they make CR500s in the 240f frames.... google Service Honda...

@MrMotox88. im 41 year old , a 250 is more than enough power for me ,i find it hard to go flat out for all the race with a 250 , i think a 500 would be great fun but too much to race with , most track around my area are not wide enough for a 500 ,

Why would Kawasaki make a pre-production 2012 KX 250 2 stroke based on a 2007 KX250f platform? I smell a rat! Nice bike, but it sure aint a 2012. I work in the industry and know Kawasaki will make a new 250 2 stroke, but it will not have an alloy frame. KTM have it right, the Cro-mo frames are lighter and stronger, plus easier to work around. Talk to the factory mechanics... think about it. The alloy frames are cheaper to produce, the only real benefit.
@MotoStyleMX Its not. It's a 250 smoker engine on a 2012 frame. Companies do it for cash but you can make it a homemade project. Google KX500AF. Same thing.

I hope that 2 strokes make a come back! I been riding a 2011 250sx for over a year now and couldn't be happier with the extreme power and low maintnence. I would like to throw some renthal 1 1/8 fat bars on this bike and give it a few hours of my life!
And I thought I was the weird one, raced 125/250's back in late 80's, my son is interested and everything 4 stroke? WTF? No offense to those who like 4's and obviously the likes of the YZ450f 2010 is a technical piece of art. But what happen to the days of even 2 stroke 500's? I used to ride the old mans YZ490 and no matter how good those 4 strokes are I'm guessing they never gave the explosive grunt. As for the racing rules right now, it looks about as stupid as it could be.
@markdlowe Yamaha and KTM still make 2 strokes. The way it looks KTM isnt going to give up on them either. And maybe if people fix these so called "problems" 2 strokes have they will start making them again. But I know I like 2 stroke way more than 4.
@Logaweed you should go to the maico website.. nd look at the forum! awesome storys about the 700maico and the maico what is comming (they say it is going to get around 100hp on a frame what's is a kilo or 2 less then an average 2009/2010 250 weighs..
some of the guys who have ridden the 2010 700 say it feels like a 125 only with a 84hp engine..!
@sevenoh9 definitely not a built up kx250. thats a kx250f frame with a kx250 motor. It may be a built up kx250 motor, but the frame, suspension and everything else look very new and modern. Im guessing an old built up kx250 couldnt even touch this one...

motors a 2007, you can tell by the stator cover. And frame is 06/07, you can tell by the rib down the center of the sides of the frame behind shrouds. super sick....I built one with a '10 frame....2nd best bike in the world(1st is kx125)

Service Honda make these as a factory unit under licence from Kawasaki...they also make KX500's in the 250f frame... and they make CR500s in the 240f frames.... google Service Honda...

@MrMotox88. im 41 year old , a 250 is more than enough power for me ,i find it hard to go flat out for all the race with a 250 , i think a 500 would be great fun but too much to race with , most track around my area are not wide enough for a 500 ,

Why would Kawasaki make a pre-production 2012 KX 250 2 stroke based on a 2007 KX250f platform? I smell a rat! Nice bike, but it sure aint a 2012. I work in the industry and know Kawasaki will make a new 250 2 stroke, but it will not have an alloy frame. KTM have it right, the Cro-mo frames are lighter and stronger, plus easier to work around. Talk to the factory mechanics... think about it. The alloy frames are cheaper to produce, the only real benefit.

And I thought I was the weird one, raced 125/250's back in late 80's, my son is interested and everything 4 stroke? WTF? No offense to those who like 4's and obviously the likes of the YZ450f 2010 is a technical piece of art. But what happen to the days of even 2 stroke 500's? I used to ride the old mans YZ490 and no matter how good those 4 strokes are I'm guessing they never gave the explosive grunt. As for the racing rules right now, it looks about as stupid as it could be.

@markdlowe Yamaha and KTM still make 2 strokes. The way it looks KTM isnt going to give up on them either. And maybe if people fix these so called "problems" 2 strokes have they will start making them again. But I know I like 2 stroke way more than 4.

@Logaweed you should go to the maico website.. nd look at the forum! awesome storys about the 700maico and the maico what is comming (they say it is going to get around 100hp on a frame what's is a kilo or 2 less then an average 2009/2010 250 weighs..
some of the guys who have ridden the 2010 700 say it feels like a 125 only with a 84hp engine..!

@sevenoh9 definitely not a built up kx250. thats a kx250f frame with a kx250 motor. It may be a built up kx250 motor, but the frame, suspension and everything else look very new and modern. Im guessing an old built up kx250 couldnt even touch this one...
