The 'lather' effect you get from shampoo is the sulfates in it. Shampoos that lather are really bad for your hair.

I wash my hair like 3 or 4 times a week xDD at most, but I started washing it less over the summer so that when it got oily then it wouldn't matter because I'd be at home but after a while of not washing your hair so much it doesn't get as oily near as quickly! (: So I'm able to go a week only washing it about 3 times, but I still shower and everything. Lol.

its actually good that your shampoo doesnt lather, lathering shampoos contain sulfates which strip your hair of natural oils :)
