Great job Raquel! Wynton Marsalis played recorded this, the album title is Carnaval. The full name of the piece is Napoli - Variations on a Neapolitan Song. If you liked this then Carnaval album is a must own.
Hi tpm. I have the "ultimate" recording of Napoli. You can't find or get it today. It's Del Staigers with the Goldman band. It's on a 78. then there's a story that goes with the recording. Staigers came in to the recording session so drunk that he couldn't even sit in a chair. They propped him up with pillow on both sides. He made the recording with no mistakes or squibbles and also the recording on the other side which is the Carnival of Venice.

I am from Napoli. The title of the song is "Funiculi' Funicula' ". Here are some references:
Wikipedia, search for Funiculi Funiculà
youtube: there are versions by Mario Lanza, or Andrea Bocelli

What is the composer of this piece? It's incredibly hard to search for a song when all I've got to go on is 'Napoli'.

Herman Bellstedt is the composer.
