  • dam. what a great song. my grandma loves this song too cause she was a bartender when she was younger and she served george jones drinks many times. what i wouldnt give to see the things she has. shes also the only person ive met that saw hank williams sr the night he died. RIP.

  • @mescalinebandit420 hank sr died during the day

  • @cowboyfan1113

Hank, Sr., died in the back of his limo. He was found dead on New Year's Day of 1953. He might have actually died on New Year's Eve of 1952.

  • Great Song George

  • George is the Master

  • The Master.

  • Moms birthday is today and she's 72. This is her favorite country artist. She also told me that she hadn't heard Bartender's Blues since the 50s. She also said her and dad before they got divorced used to ride the horses at George Jones' ranch in Red Oak, Texas.

  • @gammastation

Your mom must be whacked out on some pretty serious pills then, because "Bartender's Blues" didn't exist in the '50's. It was written by James Taylor in the '70's.

  • Doesn't get any better than this

  • i love george jones songs i would listen to them all day

  • He is one of the few people who has the unique ability that can actually sing THE SHIT out of a song ! lol

  • if it wasnt for george id say fuck country. toby kieth is just as bad as lil wayne or any gay lame pop star. this shit is real music and deserves more respect than any mtv corperate artists

It's both a James Taylor and a George Jones song.

Inspired by George, written by James, performed by both.

  • i real Love Geoege Jones with all my heart

  • I saw James Taylor talking about writing this song and in his mind trying to write it as George Jones sang it. But George asked James to sing it ... and then tried to sing it like James. So, as Taylor said, he was singing it like George, who ended up singing it like him.

  • Thnks4post:)

  • George...the Cadillac of Country!

  • george is so good and heartfelt. you gotta love it

  • I had to buy the JT original online today... it's great. Superb.

GJ brings GJ to the table and that's something unique. I think he's the only guy who's covered Ray Charles and succeeded (I'm Busted). If he can cover Ray, he can cover a-ny-bo-dy
