  • very nice im in highschool and just built a gl in my bedroom just putting the hindges in today and covered the fues and stabilizers yesterday. Any tips for flying?? I have never flown an rc plane. (buddy box) a bit and a crappy sim (g2). It was a blast to build. WHat is good weather to fly in? (Texas)? Thanks any help would be greatly apreashieated. Noah

  • I think this kit was originaly designed by Martin Holbrook who lived in Ross on Wye - uk I have one in my garage loft.

  • The Gentle Lady hi-starts very well. With a little bit of wind I frequently get flights 5+ minutes sometimes longer with no motor at all off of a standard hi-start. The GL is the plane I learned to fly on twenty years ago.

  • That's good to know. I'm actually thinking about putting a motor on my own gentle lady. I just got a zagi flying wing and a Free Bird sloper so I haven't been using it much. It would be nice to be able to use the motor to pull it up to a few hundred feet then glide it back down.

  • The Gentle Lady is a thermal soarer, rather than a slope soarer, but credit to you anyway.

  • Oh, I know. I was using it until I could get a dedicated sloper. Actually though, any sailplane can make a good sloper, as the wings produce alot of lift. A thermal soarer will not go as fast as a sloper though.

  • It's more wing loading than lift - a decent sloper will have a wing loading close to that of a power model. I think I calculated it for my Gentle Lady as 9ozs/sq foot (before I desecrated it by sticking a motor and propellor on the front)

  • i wish my gentle ladys tail would stay on so that i could do that. looks like fun.
