  • theres chunks of glass all over the ground there at the old ppg site..when i was a kid, i used to pretend they were rocks from the planet krypton, and i was superman

  • I haven't watched this video in 11 months and it gave me the same feeling watching it again.

You're able to capture that moment, that feeling, that time which is truly motivating for other to act upon.

I have a feeling your creating documentaries full time and you should be.

I really think you are doing good work & I hope it continues.

  • Thanks. I needed to hear that.

  • that smelter is gonna be someones new job so close to home thats gonna give their family a a damn chance - a new car or a new home christmas presents under the tree and shit and for that butt dagger to say send it to china I hope u get hit in the head with a big rock

  • give it to the chinese go screww ur self

  • Jobs are easier to find in ND right now.

  • Well I'm sure they can find a nice town in China for the smelter.

  • lm,ao yea . hahaha

  • We cant compete against chinese slave labor! You are the next Chinese slave laborer. Kiss America goodbye and oh by the way thanks for all that cheap merchandise chine. We saved a few bucxks and lost our country. R.I.P. AMERICA

  • great video & a true reflection of the crisis enveloping small towns across america

  • If you want to see disaster, just wait until our no guts do nothing Congress lets the big three go under. Hope you people like breadlines because it's coming.

Auto factories are not big polluters and employ a lot of people, but it doesn't mater because we will all be driving Chinese cars in a few years, begging them to feed us, and flying the Chinese flag over our Capital one day. I wonder how much money the foreign lobbyists are giving to members of Congress to let the big three die?

  • Bailing out the big three is only delaying the inevitable. Unfortunately, the trickle down has caught up with us. If congress bails out the big three, are more people going to buy cars? I'm not sure about bread-lines, but we are going into a depression weather you like it our not. Remember, America is not the only one hurting, because of our way of life, we created many jobs overseas, and now people are suffering worse. Be ready to help your neighbors friends, we are all in this together.

  • Squizzoo, your attitude demonstrates exactly why corporate America is failing. Government and regulators have stepped in repeatedly over the last decades to bail out mega-corps with dinosaur like business plans. It is time for the American people to regain our independence. Believe me, we would be all better off without the "crappy three." Sorry, but get with the 21st century or you will be eating breadlines...

  • Never before has our country been in such a mess. We are in more trouble; depression wise" than my grandparents during their depression. We have too many things stacked against us. 1) the war. 2) bad housing market. 3) greedy and crooked stock market 4) not only loss of the big 3; but all types of manufacturing & businesses in U.S.(NAFTA or just greed)??

Forget about getting a loan for a new car.

  • Great video on a subject that is close to the hearts of so many of us all across the country.

  • Good documentary. Nice editing & use of B-roll for cutaways.

  • i sent you a song i wrote working with a machine for 13 years.sorry there's a curse word in it.i should of used another word, but nothing else seem to fit.and i heard thier tring to get it in the dictionary it's used so much.well take a listen, and good luck.i think your video turned out good.

  • DGW -

While I appreciate Stephen's point, I think your video's story and presentation were right on. In my humble opinion, the story encapsulates what many small towns throughout America are currently undergoing. In short, the story is the struggle for survival of a small time and what people are willing to compromise for that survival. Excellent on all counts and good luck.

I really was quite amazed with all of the submissions.

    Cheers

    -Rich

  • Thanks. It's reassuring to know the message came through. I think this is an issue confronting communities all over the world. We are fortunate in the U.S. to have the luxury and opportunity to debate what industry is built next door to our homes.

  • I agree with richprince78. Change the company names and the people's faces, and you could have made the same documentary in Cleveland, Ohio, or anywhere along the so-called "Rust Belt."

    Great documentary!

  • Thanks for your comments. Not sure what you mean by "visually routing."

  • This is ASTONISHINGLY beautiful! Amazing work. Well done.

  • Thanks Vanessa!
