Keith and Jerry Lee blow the roof off! I watched this when it originally aired, and have it on VHS somewhere. As I recall, Dick Clark started saying goodnight, and Jerry Lee and Keith kicked back into Whole Lotta Shakin' again, drowning him out. You just knew they were about to crack a bottle (or whatever) and rock all night long. This is the real stuff!
jerry lee and keith jammin and slammin. Boys and girls, it doesn't get any better than this . It really doesn't. The last 10% of this video is priceless. I think it,s safe to say Keith kicked some serious ass with that guitar..
if that isn't the coolest thing iv'e ever seen,i don't know what is -- despite it's p.c. indy-rock detractors, there is no substitute for true, real rock-n-roll,of which this is a prime example -- thank you so much for posting this,i'm drunk and about to jerk-off and go start a fight at the closeset shit-kicker bar-n-lounge i can find, all off the fumes of this great energy you've passed down to us mere mortals -- peace to you and yours, whomever you are
Thank you for posting. This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen on Youtube. Keef can definitely hang with Rock-n-Roll royalty like the Killer.
I've already put this on DVD. I was so blown away the first time I saw this tape. It came with The Stones Live at Hampton Coliseum 1981 (2 Tapes) which I got because my dad was at the concert and we were both interested in seeing it.
Another thing I noticed was Gary Busey's name which was interesting as he played Buddy Holly in the movie of the same name. Buddy Holly was a huge influence on the Stones (Not Fade Away)and after his death (plane crash along with Richie Valens and the Big Bopper) many who knew him thought the young Keith and he were very much alike. I recommend you check out another Gary Busey movie called Point Break and see if you can spot the Chilli Pepper who appears in it as well...have fun!
Here's the track listing Great Balls Of Fire - Jerry Lee Your Cheating Heart - Jerry Lee, Keith Richards & Mick Fleetwood Little Queenie - Jerry Lee, Keith Richards & MIck Fleetwood For The Good TImes - Jerry Lee Breathless - Jerry Lee & Ruth Buzzi Mexicali Rose - Jerry Lee High School Confidential - Jerry Lee, Gary Busey, Keith Richards & Mick Fleetwood Crazy Arms - Jerry Lee & Emmylou Harris I'll Fly Away - Jerry Lee & Little Richard Whole Lotta Shakin' - Jerry Lee, KEITH Richards & Mick Flt
thankyou very much my friend...just imagine being there for that performance...hope you were lol....did you notice how 'blank' Mick Fleetwood looked....think he was going thru tough times then but at least he smiled here and there...once again thanks very much for your time and effort....Rad
Glad I could help with the set list. I wish I could have been there but I wasn't born until 1991 (8 years after this performance.) I got it ebay out 5 years ago. I imagine it would be pretty hard to find. I wasn't even looking for this tape. I got it with 2 Rolling Stones tapes. I guess they through it in there because of Keith. Little Queenie & High School Confidential are great on this show!
Far out , by my reckoning that makes you 17, great to see you are showing rock maturity way beyond your years...all looks good for the future...what were the two Stones tapes btw...if you ever want to know anything about the Stones ( I have been a fan since I first heard a tape of my brothers which had Let it Bleed on one side and Sticky fingers on the other when I was a little younger than you...once again thanks for your time and try to put that tape on dvd (it's worth a fortune in many ways)
There are nude photos of Keith Richards on the website Clublove dot com. I am NOT KIDDING, I just saw them for myself if anyone wants to check them out!
At 4:21 you can see in Keith Richards face the love he has for Jerry Lee. Honorable mention to Joel S. and Kenny L standing behind JLL, Mick F kept the beat!
