when will strike models be coming out with a big gun kit and electronics for big gun or can you use fast gun electronics for big gun and one last question were do you get depression systems and rotation servos for big guns
@mom352 Strike is almost ready with their Big Gun cannons. They're just ironing out a few last production details. However, they also have to fill orders for current hulls, cannons, etc. so I cannot give you a specific date.
They already have depression servos and rotation servos for Big Gun cannons. Their sail winch servo is for rotation, and their thin-wing servo is for depression.
@TheJebus12341 I've got a submarine, along with several other skippers. They don't see much action due to difficulties with maintenance and reliability. When they work, though...
@alfthebest101 Most battleships have rotating guns, although the feature is more rare on smaller vessels like early dreadnoughts and cruisers. It's pretty hard to sink a battleship in 1v1, but if you get a good concentrated assault with a squadron of torpedo-boats, or a few well-placed broadsides from another battleship, and sinking becomes a much more likely event.
@ChrisisBass13 That depends heavily on what tools and equipment you've already got. A significant portion of the starting costs are tools. So while a veteran skipper with several ships already built might expect to assemble a simple torpedo-cruiser for around $500, a rookie without a screwdriver to his name should expect more than that, to cover tools, materials, and mistakes. The other option is to buy a used ship, reducing your initial tooling requirements significantly.
Depends. A simple transport uses 2 channels, torpedo-destroyers and torpedo-cruisers use 3-4, gun-cruisers and simple battleships use 4, and more complex battleships with gun depression, remotely operated pumps, and other features can use 6 channels. I can't think of any ships that need more than that, though.
Most of the battleships have rotating turrets, controlled via RC. Smaller ships usually have non-rotating cannons, simply to avoid the extra complexity, space, and weight of the rotation systems.
how many people are needed to control a ship, mainly a large one(battleship) like the hms hood. also, were dose this take place and how much dose it cost to get/make/maintain?
Just about every size of ship, from the smallest destroyer to the largest super-battleship, can be controlled by a single person. Having additional people only really helps on shore, because the largest battleships are over six feet long and weigh more than 70 lbs. If you're interested in joining, do a google search for "RC Naval Combat" and introduce yourself on the forum you find.
Yes, they shoot bbs. The cannons are custom-made pneumatic cannons powered by CO2, similar to paintball guns. Each ship is controlled by hobby RC radios, just like RC cars, tanks, and airplanes.
Aww, that's no fun! Everyone likes it when ships sink. Sinking is like a clown throwing a pie in your face every time you screw up. There's cheers and jeers, then everyone laughs and gets ready to do it again.
These ships in particular may be scratchbuilt: most built for destroying each other are. Most will design the turrets to shoot ball bearings or BB's. The sprout you see coming out the top of the ships is a pump that is removing water that is coming in through holes. A fully completed ship that will do what these do in the video will cost in the ballpark of $800-$1400USD. The one I have built (it doesnt fight, but drives) costs in the ballpark of $500, and is made from a pre-existing kit.
how do you guys form a team?

@coolio123454 Do you mean how do you pick sides, or how do you start a club? One is easy, the other is not.

do you know where i can get a typhoon class sub that fires
rammsteinfan19908 4 months ago
@rammsteinfan19908 Alas, I do not know about that. Try asking for help on some of the RC hobby forums, and they can point you in the right direction.

Is there a rugulation on the size of the ships?
ChrisisBass13 1 year ago
@ChrisisBass13 Yes, all ships must be built to 1:144 scale, 1 inch = 12 feet.

@kotori87 thanks. I know you have been asked this all the time, but what is the price f the cheapest shittiest ship that shoots and runs?

i whould so cheat and give my boat a metal inner casing :<

@vett3l0l you would so get caught by the tech officer on first inspection, and get banned from the club. Blatant cheating like that is NOT tolerated.

wait a sec those shots are coming from the rc boat or is someone shotting a pelit gun at them
stupidvideoalert4 2 years ago
Yes, it's the ships themselves firing. It's so much more fun that way than shooting pellet guns from shore.
