Worst 8 years of school. Up to 8th grade they stressed "Get X amount of points, or else X thing will happen." All it does is cause fucking stress. This whole point system is shitty. Why should you have to fucking read a book that is a 2.8 if I want to read a book like Watership down? Story is what should count, I remember reading books that didn't interest me in the slightest because it was worth fucking 3 points. Not this, out of level, not enough points, ect. bullshit.
Im in 5th grade and and I both love AR at the same time its an awesome program to get kids into reading and because of it i'm one of the fastest readers in the school i have an 7.6 AR level and my goals normally range from 20 to 30 points, this one thing makes me almost hate it, it limits the things you can read tons of times I will really want to read a book and it isn't AR, with that i don't really hate it just sometimes gets on my nerves

Idk why I always have to do good on the Star Reading Test. I end up regretting it because I have to get like 27 freaking AR points every 5 weeks. Sometimes it's hard being smart >_<
I am 11 and from cesar chavez elem. school. we do AR and each week our goal is 5 pts. i dont always reach my goal because of the freakin library that opens only tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays
My school uses it... but, it is optional if you want it or not. But the points are crap! They give you barely any. I'm 3 levels above my own, and is there any way to find answers to a book?
