I'm so glad this didn't go through, I wish these carriers would cover more areas however, or there were just more carriers. We need more competition, I hope that t-mobile gets the iPhone and stays going so the phone market can become a little more equal.
What will happen to the tmobile prepaid customers???? Will ATT honor the current plans or will they get rid of the tmobile prepaid plans and introduce their own more expensive and less attractive plans? I was going to buy the 200 dollar Samsung Exhibit 2 and go prepaid with Tmobile tomorrow. Now I wouldn't touch them with a 100 foot cell tower.
Evidently there is a disconnect here between how things "should" work, and how they actually do work. Republicans made it much easier and more profitable for businesses to merge with almost no over-site. This merger will go through because AT&T has the money to buy T-Mobile and that's the end of it. Deal with it.
If At&t buy T-Mobile is going to hurt the economy. 1 alot of T-mobile employees will lose their jobs. 2 Will be less carriers choices. and prices will go up again. 3 This will become a monopoly. And I careless if Verizon and At&t have the iphone. the iphone is over rated anyway and I know that because I use own one is not that great like some people said.
Verizon got Alltel : NO ONE wasnt tripping. At&t is TRYING to get T-mobile : the damn world is on At&t dick. So everyone saying they switching to Sprint. Sprint might just buy Cricket or Verizon might take over Sprint. Point blanket Verizon and At&t have the best phones. their price are the wrost but they got more bars than all the others.
DAVID!!!!! That is exactly what companies DO. They will buy a company that is failing for the purpose of expansion! It's classic cut throat business. I can't believe you are being so "cock sure" about this. Even I, whom does not claim any knowledge about economics/business/accounting, can see what is being done here. :(
Wow that sucks. I used to work for Sprint as Tech Support. The funny thing was that very few people who worked for Sprint actually owned a Sprint phone and service. T-Mobile and Cingular were the number one choices. Sprint, at least used to be, very greedy when it came to their plans and as tech support we all knew that their phones were shoddy.
Right now here in America it costs around 50 bucks to get 10mb internet access on average from our monopoly corporations. In France you can get 100mb internet access for roughly 50 American dollars. How much worse can it really get? If they try and take away something we already have, there would be riots. What would not happen if, t-mobileandat&t stayed separated? What should I look for? 100 dollars for 1mb? People would shit bricks!!
T-Mobile is actually an arm of Deutsche Telekom and though DT posted an $800 million loss for Q4 2010 it was not due to T-Mobile nor T-Mobile's US market share accounting for about 10% of its growth and revenue.
@ImpactChocobo I must ask if you are high? I am not labeling the corporations as victims, I am explaining how the American people are no victims by supporting the corporations. it is the people in the Congo and other nations who are the victims, like I said I have no sympathy for how cheap Americans get their products and services that are covered in the blood of the innocent peoples of the Congo. The more expensive the better. The argument should be, how do we get free trade goods instead.
@ImpactChocobo Forcing you lazy Americans to pay more for your cell phones may reduce customers, reducing the amount of slave labour in Africa to make these cheap cell phones you assholes just throw away after a new model is released.... God forbid you Americans have to pay more money to support an industry that causes systematic rape and murder in exploited countries.... Those companies buy their raw materials from slave owners and criminals. I have no sympathy for how much you need to pay...
