The music of Simple Minds, plus the vocal love child of Ian McCulloch and Marc Almond. Add a sprinkle of Worthy Farm pixie dust and you have an exceptional track.
I always get the feeling this band could play on a ship in the middle of the sea fully decked with marshalls speaker/amp but no these guys could play in a garage and still be appreciated i think probably one of souths dark secrets certainly not to be mistaken for those north boys like the verve. great band
@jitkaczek most beautiful singer?? well, there's hope for us all then if that's the case. Agree with your first statement though, one of the best bands around at the moment.
@m1kerotch huh I don't even remember I wrote this comment, but I see it has received some good points :-) I really can be intelligent when I´m drunk :-*
This is great (although I liked the old stuff better)..... The one thing that is bothering me is Rhys' floral grandma sweater.... He awesome as always, but the sweater... the sweater...
I liked the horrors old stuff and heard this on the radio the other day, fucking fell in love with that dreamy riff at the beginning! haha. Their new stuff is so rad, cheers for uploading this!
@DarkAngelEU I'm looking into them too, if you really want to have the elite in delay/reverb pedals, look at Eventide, they will empty your bank balance, but the sound is second to none.
@V100BB they seem amazing, but indeed very pricey (and prob takes some time to figure out all the knobs)... for what I need/want in tone, I'll prob just go with a dd-7 :p
and tbh, the pedal is expensive but still cheaper than a Moog Murf ;/
@V100BB what I wonder is: is an expression pedal the same as a volume pedal? It is, right? :p For the cheapness of it, I might just buy one to see what extra it could give ;)
@devolotl58 theyve evolved amazingly. staying motionless makes you stale. go listen to you bands churning out the same stuff over and over. ill always appreciate progression. its natural.
@phanco Thank you for the polite answer. Objectively seen you are right. Personally I like their early stuff more, I was fascinated by the continuous motion, the theater and the pure energy of the group's stage acts. But ok, that is something you can't do a lifetime without getting the orthopedists best client (i.e. Spider Webb with his typical position on keyboard ;-)) )
@phanco I like this band but when you say 'evolve' you also have to acknowledge this tune and most of the others on the album sound like they are a throwback to bands such as Simple Minds from the 80s. I'm not knocking it, I like this a lot. There's a bit revival in those big analogue synth sounds of the late 70s and early to mid 80s. All good stuff.
Jim Morrison and Marc Almond had a singing love child...Love it Haha!

well executed. not easy to keep a dead solid and even tempo with a song like this which is itching to burst out of its skin. builds well too

@DarkAngelEU: Boss DD6/DD7, but I reckon DL4 will do the trick as well.

I want to know what pedal he uses to get that "reversed" effect, it sounds great
DarkAngelEU 6 months ago
@DarkAngelEU my DL4 does that. . .
phlips01 6 months ago
@DarkAngelEU He makes his own pedals so evey sound is unique. Pretty awesome
lorrypants 6 months ago
@DarkAngelEU A digitech digiverb pedal on reverse mode, dont listen to lorrypants, he doesn't make anything else apart from fuzz boxes.

@DarkAngelEU True, the dd-7 is a great bit of kit, get the expression pedal too for like 20 quid and you can make really abstract sounds.

It is like having been in love with a Citroen DS and your dealer wants you to convince of normal car.
My god, I had been such a fan of the group ...
To hear them now is so disappointing, so lame, sleepy.
Faris was a fantastic "shouter", but he can not sing really.
After reuniting 20 years later they will remember their garage/punk/psycho image.
But like The Who or Devo they will be too old to rock.

Yes indeed a great tune, but I agree that the guitar seems slightly out of tune, vocals and keyboard seem correct.
