  • Hi, does the timing change when turning in the same direction as the aileron rolls? My roll rate seems to speed up when circling (or turning) in the same direction as rolling, i.e, rolling right and cicling right increases roll rate.....thanks.

  • it took me a month to do it both ways

  • it took you 4 years??!!??!! it took me 4 months! im not kidding!!!!

  • rolling circle

  • is important to keep a clear mind while trying to do this manuver and just let your self do the manuver after you learn the rythem?

  • Heyy!!!!!!! This is at the Arizona Model Aviators field!!!

  • It's a harrier roll. He says that less AoA allows for a faster roll rate. There is a still an angle though.

Transitioning from a faster roll to a slower one looks real neat.

  • 5000hrs in 4 years equal 3 plus hrs a day on the sim????

  • im only 15 and i can do a harrier roll.

its hard as fuck- think of it like this.

writing 2 different sentances with both hands simaltanously while looking at the plane, not the controller. its really that hard my brain hurts cuz ive been doing it for half an hour.

  • I find knife edges harder. I still cant do them as well, but i can do rollers in both directions.

  • srsly?

cus a knife edge is easy to me. maybe im doing it wrong. i can do a harrier roll tho

  • Technically speaking this is not a rolling harrier because it is not post stall but the rolling circle is usually only a couple rolls in one circle so plus with the fact that he points out its a lower angle of attack its every person to themselves in the debate whether this is a rolling harrier or rolling circle. With the showtime it was not entering the post stall but with the white bibe it was so...

  • Still a Rolling harrier because the wing on the showtime and the 260 are not producing any lift. with that roll rate how can they?they are stalled.

what you are talking about is a high Alfa rolling harrier

  • THATS THE WORD I WAS SEARCHING FOR HIGH ALFA lol.

  • is it possible to do it in mode one?

  • rolling harrier/circle...call it what you will, its cool, he's on top, and this is the video that taught me to do it.

  • do you suck leisbergs balls?

  • Just pause the video at 1.43 and look at the angle of attack, It is a harrier, can anyone actually fly one i can, and on a plane not a sim. QQ yak 86 all the way, this is one of the best and you're complaining, wow love to see you guy's fly, put up you're rolling harrier figure of 8s so we can see you, you tube experts at work.

Go fly have fun!! Cirkus style

  • What is called is semantics. He's really good at it & he could do it with a high AOA if he wanted. Why waste time over such a petty thing. Some people call an engine which I consider a internal combustion engine, a motorm which I consider electric. who cares unless your writing a dictionary on the moves.

  • Oh, here we go again with the debate on rolling whatever.

Mark Leesburg knows his stuff, so don't question him, unless it's definatively wrong.

Also, he did mention he likes to keep his AOA lower to increase roll rate. I do this as well to keep roll rates up, and overall, make it look much more impressive to anyone who watches.

  • I don't care if it's jesus christ saying rolling harriers, that's not a rolling harrier. A harrier is characterized by a very high angle of attack and sub-stall foward speeds (being kept aloft by the engines strength, not the lift on the wing).

This has none of that. It's a rolling circle plain and simple. Your argument is called an appeal to authority, and that's known as a logical fallacy. Learn Google.

  • were you bullied at school?

  • Listen: 3:39-3:49... Still a Rolling harrier but just a shallower angle of attack... :)

  • @BlacklightTV

Still a Rolling harrier because the wing on the showtime and the 260 are not producing any lift. with that roll rate how can they?they are stalled.

what you are talking about is a high Alpha rolling harrier

  • @BlacklightTV Sorry dude, but Mark Leseberg is one of the most respected RC pilots in the world. FWIW, the stick inputs to hold a harrier and circle are identical.

  • @BlacklightTV....This is NOT a rolling circle "plain and simple." You have implied correctly...that wings are not stalled in a rolling circle; however, with the rolling harrier the wing is stalled and that can occur ANYWHERE between 0 degrees and 90 degrees. The stall point and angle changes based on thrust, weight, ect, hence an airfoil can stall at any angle between those points...this is proven science...Proofed many times. Jesus aside, your a victim of Optical illusion...fallacy.

  • This is not a Rolling Harrier, its a Rolling Circle. The Showtime is at a much too high AOA to call it a Harrier. Keep it in a straight line at high AOA an THEN you got a Rolling Harrier.

Im no better, but no need to misinform people trying to learn.

  • The video is named Harrier Rollin with Mark Leseberg, Mark Leseberg says himself "Rolling Harriers" in the vid so therefore everyone out there watching this vid can be assured that this is a video depicting the 'ROLLING HARRIER'

BTW, I don't use 'elevator' in my rolling circles, and that goes for all my planes indoor and out.

    Mick

  • mark leseberg not andrew jesky, dude

    ^_^

  • LOL!

    Thanks Dude!

    Fixed

  • VERY cool... Thanks for taking the time.
