"Henry Rollins is no more a threat to established power (in America) than was Dale Carnegie. And yet Rollins is the king of the rebels --- peerless and ultimate --- is the message hammered home whenever photos of his growling visage appears. ."
"When describing the relationship with his parents for the readers of Details, Rollins quickly cuts to the critical matter, the results that such dedication has brought, "Mom, Dad, I outgross both of you put together," a happy observation he repeats in his interview with the New York Times Magazine."
"If you're unhappy with your lot, the Culture Trust tells us with each new tale of Rollins, if you feel you must rebel, take your cue from the most disgruntled guy of all: Lift weights! Work Hard! Meditate in your backyard! Root out the weaknesses deep down inside yourself! But whatever you do, don't think about who controls power or how it is wielded."
Seen him last night in Glasgow, what a fantastic show. Three hours of pure entertainment. The place was in hysterics at his Ozzy impression and the part where the air blast hit him in the nut at the airport. That was the 4th show I have been to and he just seems to keep getting better!!
in Amsterdam he added that the crowd feedback to them compared to the one Ozzy got could easily have been 15 000 people talking about their shoes or something. At the end people stood up to applaud him. He left the stage in a taking a bow-sneaking away on the tiptoes kind of way with his mouth covered with his hand. Being so humble after all he achieved...And yes, 3 hours without a pause here too...
yep, was also at vicar st. Henry Rollins is a truly great performer and lots of interesting things on him, Rollins Band and Black Flag on the internets and googles....
