Real men in action...a wonderful thing to see...best use of "state's resources" I can think of, and it's great practice for when they rescue people too. Rescue workers regularly do practice drills...any idiotic whining animal haters in here need to just put a sock in it.
nice!!! people are so strange though, all that rescue effort into the night... covered the deer in a blanket, then people slaughter animals for food, and hunt them down.
i will never understand the messed up mind of the human race.
I am not saying that we shoudn't oppose animal cruelty, or do our best to care for and if necessary save wildlife and animals...but with the state that modern human society and civilization is in, this is just hypocrisy and has no meaningful effect...other than to the unfortunate Deer :)
Reminds me of how the U.S government invades countries under the pretext of "freedom and democracy promotion" yet takes away the freedoms and democratic rights of it's own people, and countless world wide...
LOL what a joke, in the capitalist world, when 27,000 or more children die every day of malnutrition and other easily preventable causes...yet it is saving the life of animals that attracts the attention of media...
@BonScottAC Population growth and famine barely have any correlation. The population of British-ruled India was also growing throughout the 19th century, all the while tens of millions died of starvation and famine in the countryside.
Growth in population in the developing world is largely a result of the social-economic conditions that make it necessary for families to have multiple children so they can subsist.
@wnxsilence Human compassion can't save those people only science can. When we have so much more that us helping those who have less won't affect us in any way. I hope I'm wrong and we'll get to see a better, kinder, gentler tomorrow without the master of puppets.
@BonScottAC On the contrary, human beings already possess sufficiently advanced technology, resources, and technical ability to easily alleviate problems such as severe poverty and starvation. Even a fraction of the capital given by developed countries to their financial institutions in the form of "bailouts" could massively improve the health conditions of the poorest in the world if directed accordingly...
@BonScottAC People who say that the massive suffering and deprivation in the world will somehow be solved through science in the future, are simply refusing to look in any way at the flaws in the international social-economic structures that exists in the world today.
Why in a world of such material abundance should billions of human beings suffer and die in the most miserable poverty? I don’t think any “expert” from our modern schools in economics has an answer to this simple question.
@TsuKing I am not talking about everyone individually, but society in general. Wouldn't it be rather difficult for just one of these rescue men to go out in to the ice and save the deer by himself, rather than the collective action of a team of rescue men with all the needed equipment?
@TsuKing The whole point of approaching any of these problems, whether it be a stranded deer, or millions of human beings in miserable poverty is that it will require the effort of a community, perhaps the whole global community....not the actions of just one individual. It's obvious to everyone who suffers, that no matter how many millions a billionare donates in the spirit of "philanthropy" the problem of severe deprivation and mass misery around the world will not disappear.
My deer hunting season is over .I went to my camp for one week and killed my deer limit of 6 deer. Now they are processed and in my freezers for my family to eat all year long:)
It should be mandatory for presidents worldwide to be a fireman!
Putting out fires instead of spreading them, rescue poeople instead of endangering whole nations, helping cats from trees instead of throwing puppies from hills...I very much like that attitude!
I agree, while these was a really nice thing they did, and I would have done the same in their shoes, risking human lives for a single deer does seem a bit silly.
Un-Fucking-Believable. Who gives a shit about a deer on ice? There are more pressing issues in the world besides this bullshit. I'm sure there's a family not far from this place who needs help. This is the same shit the news channels do to people......they feed lies and play on emotions and distract you from the real issues in this fucked up world we live in. 9 times out of 10 this deer would have ended up being somebody's food. I have a 30/30 waiting to bust his ass so I can eat dinner.
The people who decided to rescue him cared about the deer. Sorry if 30 seconds to remind people that not all humans are blood thirsty compassionate drones was to much for you.
@nameofthepen LOL. Grinch? Far from it. In fact, I give PLENTY of my hard earned money to various charities. I love wildlife, but human-life takes a huge priority over a frozen mammal. So, STFU.
Figures it wasn't in the USA-Americans love to slowly torture and kill animals, and even use bow hunting so the pain will be as agonizing and slow as possible. Seriously. And law makers defend animal cruelty.
