i used the tape repair a couple of times so it didn't let too much water in..but there is still some in there.. is it ok to have a little water in the board?
Wow! First, that board has been to hell and back. Second, don't shove wax into your dings because it isn't water tight and it will be a nightmare to fix later. Watch one of the 5000 ding repair videos and get some solarez if you must. OR, if it isn't a big ding, cut up some glass fibers and mix with uv sanding resin into a thick goo. Sand the ding, shove the goo in, cover with plastic so it's flat, stick it in the sun, sand it, surf on it. Or, flirt with the guy next door. He'll do it.
Expert surfer maybe but not expert board repair. I not an expert by all means but I taught myself. My end results may not be pretty but my repairs are water tight and durable. Disappointed that poor advice comes from surfer sister. In my opinion, if you give advice you should be credible, especially if your represented a dominate population in the community. If the segment emphasized temporary non-desired fix for times when one needs to paddle out ASAP, I find your advice more credible.
