Interesting thing about summer in Victoria 2008/2009, it was below average temperatures for the 3 months of summer, only 10 days over 35 and 5 days over 40.

Out of 3 months it's been a short but hot summer, don't believe the hype about man made climate change, there is more and more evidence the eco freaks are using disasters as an excuse to push there cause and to exstract our hard earned money out of us.

Man made climate change is obviously happening, and it's not just global warming, because that is one of the lesser problems, it's changing weather patterns, and as observed in the summer just gone, changing rainfall.

awesome video, great insight in to what the true CFA go through, I was at home on power road when this happened, so it's 'good' to see what was happening down there at the time.

Its too late now but next time the government should be prepared ready to evacuate anyone with black hawk helicopters in the line of fire. This was a foreseen event and yet the government made no provisions for evacuations. We send troops and helicopters to war to defend our nation and yet we dont do the same to protect our citizens.

God bless Australia and the real heroes the cfa and all emergency crews.

nothing short of marshal law could stop this from happening with 24hours notice.. yes all through winter back burning and getting rid of fuel would help but nothing would stop it once it started

i was headin down power road when this was happenin n could not see about 20-30 meters ahead of me cops shut the road down n made em turn around ...was amazing to see the kind of speed a bushfire has
