what part of arizona are you in? Also, do you have a lot of problems with spiders and snakes? I am going to plant my fist garden ever, and this is the first garden i have seen in arizona planted right in the ground. Did you use compost and till your ground first and at what time of the year? lol a lot of questions i know!
Very nice! Some people also grow pole beans amongst the corn - you can innoculate the beans with nitrogen fixing compound, the bean plant will pull nitrogen from the environment and make it available to the corn, which likes lots of fertilizer anyway... The beans like the shade of the corn, and use it to climb. Two crops in the same space.... :) Or pumpkins like to grow with corn, too.
Hi! We can set out tomato plants here anytime beginning May 1st. I try to start my tomato seeds indoors in early March... but since they I start them growing in tall recycled coffee cups from the espresso shop, they can stay in their interim home until later if you run short of time.
pretty cool
