Actually I love the sound of the bass guitar, since it's deep and rich.
But you probably would have to decrease the guitar volume a little bit. I think they still would sound to the front. And/or experiment with decreasing certain EQ frequences for the guitars and drums.
I think it would help, and I have had similar suggestions to my own music.
Also include a track with a muted reference song in the DAW, that you'd want it to sound like, for mixing balance.

Nice tune, but a little loud, isn't it? Will listen any to other uploaded versions though.
Synths works very well with the rock instruments.
Also, at 1.40... hehe, not quite a cowbell was it, but it was immediately followed by a really good drum fill, IMO
