Zingg is really starting to look quite terrifying. More and more like a mannequin with each passing production.
Why the glassy, dead-eyed stare throughout this passacaille? Everything about it screams superficiality.
The blonde woman dancing to the right (stage left) of Zingg manages to at least endow the thing with some humanity.

The Passacaglia from 'L'Armide' is even better. That's my opinion at least.

Well, the passacaille from Armide is a lot longer. Lully was composing longer and longer passacailles as time went on.

Better? :S You can't compare a lion with a tiger, or a panther with a cheetah. When music is perfect, and the composer ascended to the throne of Mont-Parnasse, there are no better or worse pieces.
