@HomelessBaka : Good comment. I think there are two reasons: 1) I wasn't very good at playing pianissimo/mezzo piano; 2) the recording was made with a digital camera, which tended to align all sounds to the same loudness level. I'm working on both, though.
@TheAndixChannel : Thanks Andix for the compliment. Thank you also for subscribing to my channel, and I hope you'll enjoy the new piano videos that I plan to upload in the near future.
Aha, I smell a challenge. :-) I'll continue to post new recording of my performance (either solo or with others) from time to time, and hope you'll like them. And, thank you very much for subscribing to my channel.
Incredibly beautiful. Beethoven must be proud of this duet because I think he imagined to provoke the feeling you provoke... Pianist: never let her go away... You two together may be great!
@R073NG3L: Thanks for the high praise, R073NG3L. Very kind of you to say that. I hope you'll also enjoy the other classical music recordings on my channel.
@eyh5 Yes, I did. I listened the records of your channel... But this is still my favourite for good or until you show something much (very very much) better than this. Best regards and have my congratulations again.
@zhouyu88 ha ha...jerk....they're not playing for a 'cornell' audience. they're playing for you and me. Do you really care that they're wearing shorts and a halter top? Just listen to the musics dude.
I think that this is a very good performance, but I think it would be even better if the balance between the sounds of the two instruments were better. The piano needs to soften the tone in order to let the violin stand out more.
Your point is well taken. You're right about the coordination between the two instruments. I also realized that the piano was overpowering the violin at some passages. I didn't have prior chamber music experience (been playing solo most of the time). Now I am learning to play chamber music with other musicians, and that gives me a better understanding of what a piano's role should be in a group.
@eyh5 the piano over powers sometimes because it's actually a violin piano duet. so the piano also has the melody at times. but you are right too... the piano over powers a bit when it isn't supposed to. but they still play this very well :)
Well, if you put it that way...how can I disagree? :-) Maybe your message was intended to the other guy? Anyways, thanks for the encouraging words, Tara.
Thank you very much for the compliment. And also thank you for subscribing my Youtube profile. Hope you'll like the uploads of my piano performance in the future.
Nice, but try some dynamics. I think the piano is less than inexpressive and it's allways above the violin, and this should not be that way. Good job, over all! Mine are costructive comentaries!
I have this persistent problem of no being able to play soft (piano or pianissimo), for fear that the keys won't sound. You're of course right about some lack of dynamics on my part. Any suggestions on some good technique of practice to play softly?
Good eye, Hannah. My digital camera has a 10-minute recording limit. For this recording, I had to run back and forth between the camera and the piano, adding extra few seconds that exceeded the time limit. So we recorded the piece twice, made the cut in the middle of each, and pieced the two parts together.
No other digital editing was done to this recording.
Thanks for the compliment. We'll see if we can record the other three movements later in the future.
Thanks Kisha for the compliment! :-) Also appreciate your subscribing to my Youtube profile. I try to post new video recordings of my piano playing (both solo and duets) from time to time.
