  • HOLY COCAINE!

  • man this guy is a legendary songwriter

right up there with lynott and daisley and some others

  • Rizzdog: You are absolutely correct. Joe would not sing about hate and that is only a part of what makes him such an icon. That is not his style(I did not mean to infer that it was). As for Obama, Joe will have ample ammo by the time Obama runs this country further into the ground. Either way, as long as we are able to continue to be able to express our views this country rocks. Once we lose that, we are done for. So I appreciate your comments. Did not mean to offend.

  • Whenever a band has Joe Lynn Turner as singer you know that the band is good.

Rainbow, Deep Purple, Brazon Abboth, Hughes Turner Project and lots of others.

  • @AjmessMD -- he's liberal and proud of it! Good for him!

  • Martybop and NightmareSnake: Actually, being liberal does not make you intelligent or stupid. I've just found waaaay more hypocrisy and intolerance from liberals than most others (including hate groups). Any group which tries to villify you as a racist, sexist or narrowminded because you do not believe in what they do does not believe in free speech or in looking at things from all angles. Keep going Joe, focus on making more albums for us and feel free to write a negative song about Obama.

  • @AjmessMD That's not liberal, that's hate. JLT would have no problem penning a negative song about Obama if he wanted; it's just that those songs are more likely to be aimed at the right.

  • Fandango, Rainbow, Yngwie, Deep Purple, Over The Rainbow, he's done it all and made his claim. He deserves to be called an icon.

  • Joe Lynn is phenomenal. The only sad thing is he is a liberal

  • @AjmessMD No, that makes him intelligent.

  • @AjmessMD Is being a liberal sad? Being liberal means having a broader tolerance for things you may not wish to do or agree with. It takes more courage to be liberal. It's, sometimes, harder. For me, the non-liberal agenda is an opportunity not to think something through. Not allowing one to see something from all sides. As Leonard Cohen says "there's a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in". (But I do like you taste in music :-)

  • Great voice,great great great

  • Rock n Roll is so idiotic. I am not saying I even came close to being a rockstar, but I played in bands and dreamed of making it to the top one day, like many teenagers. Thank God it never happened! These guys are all whacked! It's like they never grew up, they live in the past.

  • He already wrote against Reagan in 1981 with the song "Can't happen no here".

  • joe lynn the voice,,,

  • He sure seems like a Nice and humble guy.....He deserves his place in Rock history.

  • Canta como lo angeles.del puto cielooo

  • LOVE his singing voice, but man is his speaking voice different...

  • Joe Lynn Turner, hey fuck face Bush spent more money trying to save the folks of Africa than any other leader in history. Get it right dumbass. I was NOT a Bush fan btw. Get you facts straight shitface before you claim otherwise.

  • he's the MAN ! AND I LOVE HIM! someday i'll rock the scene like him..i know it!

  • very spinal tap.

  • Old ladies working in the tax office I worked for long years ago still love your voice Joe Lynn!!!

  • Come on baby and Slide It In...;)

    And David Coverdale would answer:

    Right To The Top, Baaaaaaabe!!!!!

Turner delivers the goods in this interview;D

  • Another amazing singer and nice guy who is 100% clueless about politics.

English lit major. That explains it...

  • @doghousepiiman ...why because he doesn't agree with you?

  • I don't think JLT was one of the best singers Blackmore worked with.

HOWEVER, I do think he has sung on some of the best songs and albums.

  • @Staticnz JLT was ok but your right he wasn't the best. The best Ritchie worked with imo was Ronnie James Dio.

  • Comment removed

  • I agree he's a great singer, but the I've seen him live only once with Deep Purple in Paris, with the Slaves and Masters Tour,in 1992 I guess, and he sung terrible.I was so dissapointed...but the work he done in the studio with so many albums was just great.

  • Wow, really? He must've had an off day then, cause he was great :)

  • spot on :]

  • Methinks his real last name is not "Turner".

  • True. He's looks like Lenny Bruce and Jackie Mason's love child. Oy!

  • I noticed a little Richard Lewis in that.

  • I think his real last name is Linquito

  • Joseph Linquito :)

  • Spinal Tap????

  • when he says "i dont write lyrics like slide it in"and then he says "excuse me dolly" is he refering to coverdale.

  • Yep... think so. SLIDE IT IN, RIGHT TO THE TOP

  • Well, at least he's gone out there and done it and made a name for himself (i.e., Deep Puurple, Rainbow, etc). Hearing a lot of nay-sayers who think he sucks but...where is THEIR material? Where is their legacy? JLT is a cool guy and has sang for the best.

  • I did not realize what an articulate and critical thinker JLT was. I appreciate hearing his views.

  • this guy is a genius

  • who is he??? what band

  • Rainbow, Malmsteen, Deep Purple and many, many others.

  • It looks like he has a black eye.

  • This is a brother who has LIVED and LEARNED

  • all i can say is OH BROTHER

  • It's amazing how so many entertainers think they are such EXPERTS on politics, foreign policy, national security, etc. Half of them never even graduated high school, yet they know EVERYthing...

  • Then I can tell you that hes been study a lot, and is very inteligent! He knows what he talks about, and is not a nother stupid drug head.

  • Joe lynn turner is amazing guy, very down to earth and you know he speaks from his heart

  • This is an amaing interview!!!! Thanks for sharing JLT's own philosophies!!!

  • Joe,is a smart man, been around the block a few times, and is very philosophic about it. Saw him in Rainbow in 1981 at Georgetown University (the field House). Pat Travers band opened for them. Rainbow was hot that night!

  • I saw that tour in LA. Great show.JLT kicks ass!!!
