  • I came back for Millie and Bobby : ))

Ooooooh.... I was only in my 40's when I first came here!! haha

New Year greetings for you xxx

  • one way street!

  • This song is definitely a lesson in love.

  • @thejukejoint Still loving this! Thanks again.

  • Great Artist and her lyrics are so touching!

  • I love this song!

  • Millie, your music is so real and touching , like the melody of life. I enjoy the art you left us!

  • A legend no doubt about that but because she uses street language or (real talk) she never got the airplay she deserved. I love you Millie *******

  • @kathlick5 (Thanks for posting. I agree with everything you said. It's sad that the industry didn't give her a chance and pay more attention to her vocal ability. Please go listen to (In My Dreams - it was produced by Gerald Levert, and Living With A Stranger - produced by Betty Wright) (they both on youtube).

  • "my heart has its own eyes"& "let me quit before i get bitter".serious lines. i love this women!!!!!! i got introduced to her in a time of my life where i could really appreciate her stuff. much thanks "k". where is she?

  • She's still around. She's in Atlanta, but she has a radio show out of KKDA in dallas. I just heard from her a few weeks ago. She said she wasnt' recording because of the bootleggers. But she's working a TV variety show. I hope it get's picked up. It would be cool to return back to the TV variety show days like Carol Burnett only this time with Millie J.

  • The professor likes this track!

  • This has got to be the best of all Millie's tracks and i've been listening to her for the better part of nearly 30 years. Her more saucier rap-like tracks are fun and very commercial but this.. is just incredible in terms of the soul, the feeling the message and the more importantly the rhythm, pace and melody. Never get tired of listening to this.

  • So true! You really listen the lyrics. Most people don't listen to lyrics anymore these day. Most songs, don't really have message or a story. I feel exactly what you are saying "she's strong, but had a heart that hurt". I feel her pain especially when she says "All you do is take.. and I give". I'm sure we all relate at one time or another. Thanks for listening.

  • I'm not a lady either (smile). But I'm still enjoying this music. I love it! And just started guitar lessons in my middle age. One day I might be able to play the guitar to this song (hope so). Millie's great!

  • Hi love millie jacson, but trying to find the name of a song that i have of hers. it has the phrases excuse miss bitch i still would like a word with that nigga on that shoulder. best friend took her man, she went to the bar and put on her good wig and clothes. can u ladies help me out.

  • I'm not a lady, but I can help you out (smile). It's called "Lovers and Girlfriends". "Neva! Let your girlfriend hang out with you and yo man too often. LOL. It's posted on youtube with a caucasion girl doing one of the best impression of Millie I've seen. Type Millie Lovers and Girlfriends samantha.

  • great track..it just feels so 70s, millie jackson, absolute beautiful, productions to song....congratulations for this video y very good this channel

  • I'm sorry I'm just getting back with you. I just saw your comment on Millie Jackson "Lies That We Live". I like the production. This song was written and produced by Betty Wright.

  • Hi thejukejoint - would you know where to find the extended version of "Last night I loved a stranger" I know i have heard it before (late 70s) ... Its the one where she says "What I am trying to say is "Last night i loved a stranger".

Also does anyone know which record she was referring to when she said "the people who heard me do this record the last time but didn't know what i was saying"

    Thanks!

  • thejukejoint...If you were to choose one of Millie's albums, which one would you recommend me to get? I guess it would have to have this song on it. Or is there an album of hers that you like better? Thanks. You're doing a good job, posting this nice music.

  • thejukejoint...Yeah, I love it too! I've looked at some of her other work here, and she's excellent. She's got attitude, too! Anyone else that you could recommend? Thanks again.

  • thejukejoint...I'm still diggin' this. Thanks mate.

  • You're welcome. I'm glad that you enjoy it. Betty Wright wrote and produced this. I love it!

  • Thanks for this, thejukejoint. I'd heard of Millie, but I'd never really listened to her music. This is real nice. I've been listening to Deep Purple's Child In Time, and Free's Mr Big - music like that from the 70's. I like the great guitarists from those days. But this is nice too. Thanks.

  • i'm looking for a song i think it's by millie called goodbye you hello him can anybody help me pleeeeeaaaase?? going crazy trying to find i

  • Hello. That's actually "Betty Wright". It was on a single and 12" inch. It wasn't on one of her albums. It was the single "What Are You Gonna Do It" (side B). It was an answer to Richard Dimples Fields and "She's Got papers". She was saying "Goodbye YOu... and Hello to her new man". I remember the song well. She says I'm tired of taking, yo you know what. I'm free at last and I'm leaving yo butt. I thank the lord. Goodbye you. Hello him. LOL. The record is on eBay. But I don't have it. Sorry.

  • jukejoint there was ..is a cut by millie ,not sure of the name ..but has strong bass line ..i think itz called feeling bitchy, do u have?

  • Somebody Help Me If you can.

Millie had a song from the mid 70'S. The lyrics were " standing at the doorway, listening for the phone.Lord I can't ever remember feeling so alone. I look out my window...Yesterday seems like two million miles away, our lives have gone astray we've run out of things to say.And the way we used to be is just a bittersweet memory he'll go blind if he can't see, that I still Love you.

Any one who has it and can help me please post it Thanks .

  • Yep.. I have it. I will post it up this week when I get the chance ok? Thanks for watching. If friday gets' here and I haven't posted it or no one else, please remind me.

    take care.

  • It is called "I still love you (You still love me)" - it is on the Live and Uncensored album, and probably on others as well.

  • i know you posted this 9 months ago, but in case you never found it, the song you are refering to is "I Still Love You, You Still Love Me". Thats one of my favorite Millie songs

  • I always thought Millie Jackson could have been a distant cousin to the jackson family, My favorite Millie album is Back To The S*, Muffle That Fart lol. I didnt know Millie Jackson had something new out thanks for telling me verbatimmags, The last Millie cd i bought was the Younger Man Older Woman project.

  • I love this track, but then I've adored Millie's warm soulful voice since the early 70s. When she sings, it feels like what she's singing about is really happening & I could not give a singer a higher complement.

  • You should hear the live version on her DVD she just released. I agree with everything you said! Millie sings with so much passion. Listen from 3:01 to the end..."

  • Thanks for your comment. Even though her saucier stuff is fun, I appreciate her subdued stuff as well. She really is a great vocalist. I like Tina and Gladys, but Millie has a little more soul. I love Millie and this is my favorite Millie song (written and produced by Betty Wright)

  • Great to hear she still sounds so soulful. Always preferred her more subdued material to the saucier stuff.
