  • this is big issues with 50cc scooters. and the reason why your moped idles high, it's because your chock is on, as the bike gets hotter, the idle should go down, chock is now open. remember, tighting all the engine bolts, if air is getting in you engine, it fucks up the idle as much, 17 or so parts air, 1 part gas. thats the norm for what needs mixed to make you bike run right. clean your engine real well, then look for drips, and there is most likely your problem.

  • i love how it says future champions

  • @countrymankdx200 Hahaha makes me feel good about myself even though I'm riding around on a 2hp scooter!

  • @apricotsnms516 ya you will be a champion just not now

  • @countrymankdx200 Haha exactly.

  • I have a X19 super pocket bike. When the engine is cold, it only runs for half a second then it dies unless i rev it but the bike will take off. When the engine is hot, it starts sharply like it should. What wrong? please help. Thanks

  • You need a new electronic choke

  • @6cody91 i believe ur right, have the same issue with mine... im going to order one now.

  • I aqm sorry, but this video is bad. This is not the way to adjust the carb idle, it is about 25% of how you do it. 75% is some nonsense about hbow to open the seat and how your scooter looks like.

    1. You only adjust the idle with warm engine

    2. there are two more screws from where to adjust the carb

  • @kittymaris Yeah thanks dude, it does suck. I did it without any thought, preparation, or script. Thanks for watching.

  • what maufacter is tha scooter from

  • @ilussion32 Sunl.

  • My Aprilia 125 did the same thing...the idle was set so low that it when setting at a traffic light it would occasionally die. I had to do the same thing. My Italian scooter idle screw is in exactly the same spot and the compartment lid is held down by one screw just like in your 50. Good video. This is a very common problem to have to fix.

  • @dkw12002 Thanks dude glad you could get it working! And yeah Chinese scooter companies like to copy the real deal, I'm sure yours is 10 times nicer then mine haha.

  • ok that work and i have another question or request lol can you make a vid to show me like how the fuel lines and all the hoses go connected just dont know cuz i connect 3 but i lose one so i dont know where that go i relly say thank you for help me out

  • hey bro i see your vid on the scooter and i just wanna know if you still have the manual for it and if u can see what is the right size for valvle calibration thank you so much or if some one know guys cuz i try .004 for both but still not work is start for a seconds but is go die again

  • @DJTAKTICA I believe .004 is correct, you might want to start looking into other things. Does it have any other symptoms?

  • Do your proceduews again and this time use a drop light, your camera shots are too dark, also don't forget to reduce the throttle cable adjustment under the hand throttle first all the way back and then adjust it from the Carb, other than that good info.

  • @Max1Chase1 Good tips, but can someone make another video and post it as a response please?

  • i turn mine way down when i race so i always have to be on the throttle so if i do fall off (we race in snow) it turns off and dosent screw anything up

  • @funnybone16 good idea and can save your bike if you do fall off but when you stop at a roundabout it is a pain in the ass

  • @NobbysPcHelp ya but i just change it back when i go on the road im thinking on making a cable or some sort of thing so i can change it without getting into the seat

  • bike starts fine and runs fine the only prob is that it cuts out at a stop normally i pull the throttle back and bit and it stays alive. I have tryed the idle and it does not fix the problem

  • @lankysamboy94 hmm, my bike used to do that exact thing, and that's why i adjusted the idle, but that didn't work like you said. i can't quite remember what i did or what happened, it did stop doing it after a while. it might do it because the motor's cold? possible adjust you throttle cable? or clean the carb? let me know what happens!

  • @apricotsnms516 when i start my bike it sounds like its not getting enough gas, i feel like that is because the throttle cable is too loose. when i have the bike running and im looking where the screw is, it sounds like its going to turn off and its a little loose, and when i pull the throttle taught it sounds much better, but i think my screw cant be adjusted any further.

  • @WGMedia Have you tried adjusting idle? It can run with no throttle cable as long as the idle screw is set right.

  • @lankysamboy94 its most probably going to be your throttle cable same thing happened to me on my pit bike easy fix if it is the cable

  • no but it does when i first start it in the morning but that the choke kicking in to warm the bike up. i have done 1200km

  • @lankysamboy94 so what sound does it make when trying to start? and does it start with the back wheel up off the ground?

  • my bike keeps dieing when i stop at a roundabout or at a stop light. i have adjusted the valves and the idle but the back wheel will not spin or get to the point where it will spin at all.

  • @lankysamboy94 will it turn on while the wheel is on the ground? how many kilometers does it have?

  • Just wanted to say thank you so much for your video!! Scooter was dying everytime I let go of the throttle and I can't imagine what it would have cost if I brought it somewhere. A simple tweak with a screw driver and the scooter runs perfectly. THANKS!

  • how fast does your ped go aND WHAT HAVE U DONE TO IT TO GET IT THAT FAST

  • @lankysamboy94 Hmm, the top speed (indicated) was 50+MPH, that's where the speedo topped out lol. Of course, the speedo was wrong by a few MPHs. So I would guess about 40 - 42MPH? And the only thing I've done to it (performance wise) is stick a uni filter on the intake. Which does have a noticeable power increase.

    Thanks for the comment! :-)

  • @apricotsnms516 - You cant get that just from a air filter lol. what have u realy done to it also with a new air filter what do you do with th exhaust air intake and out-take of the air filter.

  • @lankysamboy94 Haha, I have adjusted the points.. And i tried to derestrict it, although it was already un-non-de-not restricted lol

And the only thing I know of when you install a mod, and have to calibrate another competent. (make sense? lol)

Is when you install an after market exhaust, You then have to adjust the carb. (float maybe? or air screw? don't remember... haha) But anything else you just slap it on and go! :D

  • I found how to do this quickly, my scooter was shutting off when idling but increased the throttle speed, and is much better!

  • cant see shit

  • @LutMejiaJ sorry lol

  • Thank you captain obvious. I appreciate the video, but holy cow, I know how to read "future champion," I just wanted to know where the Idle adjustment screw is at on my carburetor. Again thank you for the video.

  • @HolyGrunt92 your welcome? it was one of my first uploads...

  • Thanks man

  • got a bit of a prob the throttle handle has to much movement and has a gap between the handle and block (electric start) and it is about 1 cm gap and my friends have a gap of like 2mm what is wrong with mine and how can i fix it.

  • @lankysamboy94 From what i know... The slack (Or "free play") in the throttle handle, is adjusted by an adjuster for this problem. The adjuster's lodaction will vary from scooter to scooter. Although it will commonly be on the throttle cable. it should look like a screw, with one small, and long screw nuts. To shorten the free play, screw the long nut counter-clockwise, then tighten it down with the short nut.

Again, it will vary from scooter to scooter. But generally it's what i stated above.

  • Also, it could be a faulty throttle cable. Replace if needed.

As for the gap between the throttle and kill switch area. it may just be that your scooter was built that way. Or a manufacturing problem (which is common on Chinese scooters).

So if it's not causing any problems, I wouldn't worry about it.

    Thanks for the comment! Cheers!

  • what you mean not vibrating too much and low hum. If you can't explain

could you make a quick video of it with the camera next to the hole under the seat

  • @sambeale94 i would start it up, let it warm on a ~10-15min ride. then turn the idle screw down until it starts to stall, then go back up until it starts to sound like its not struggling. but low enough that it doesn't start to move forward I.E. put the kickstand up and without sitting on it (hold it up with one hand on the left bar) see if it moves forward (on level ground) if it does, the idle's too high

so in basic terms, it has to be between not stalling and not moving forward :)

  • @sambeale94 but higher is better if you're still unsure :)

  • what kinda sound should it make then for it to be in the perfect rpm

  • @sambeale94 from experience it should make a nice low hum and not be vibrating too much. also you gotta wait till it warms up before you adjust it and that should be just a nice neighborhood run.

  • need help i have no rpm dial so cant tell what rpm my scooter is on. So could anyone tell me how i could adjust it so it is perfect and is on roughly 1600rpm.

  • @sambeale94 i would just go by sound. thats how i do it on my other non-tach bike.

  • should be set to idle at 1000 to 1500 rpm

  • Ive just got a scooter and the electric start doesnt work help (brand new scooter chinese)

  • @TehNerdGaming hmm does the kick start work? does it run at all? do the lights (blinkers, tail light) work when you turn the key one the "ON" position? did you make sure you did the starting procedure correctly?

let me know and i'll try to help a little more :)

  • My scoot starts up with quite high revs, then drops as it warms up. This is the auto-choke, I like to start mine on the stand and let it warm up, before I adjust the idle. you need to take into consideration having the headlight on too - because that slows the revs down.

    I have a Chinese made one too, it's a SK50QT Top 1..

    Great video.

  • true im going to re-adjust it once the weather warms up to be a little more accurate :) thanks for watching!

  • the idle is higher when you start it is because the choke is on. You adjust your idle when your bike is warmed up (after driving for like 3-5 minutes) then adjust it to 1800rpm. If you others dont have a rpm meter its a easy trick to do. Adjust it so high that its not shaking (you see it on your mirrors, and not so hight that the rear wheel spins) so fo it right. =) have fun

  • thanks man will do!

  • also its a good idea to take some carb cleaner froma car parts shop and blow trough the main jet, the idle jet and all the holes in your carburetor.

Also take of the electronic choke unit, clean it and squeze the choke nedle few times so you see that it dosnt stick anywhere. And the default carb adjustmen is 1.5(in winter) 2(in summer) turns for the air and about 2.5-3 turns for the idle screw

  • sweet thanks again!

  • I had the same problem with my scooter.I let mine warm up.

  • It sounds like it has dirt in one of the carb jets, you may need to strip and clean to get an even tick over speed, but try running a carb cleaner through the fuel system for a tank or so , see if it helps.

  • thanks! i will try that as soon as next pay check! lol i have had problems with the carb in the past so i wouldn't be surprised if it came back to haunt me. lol

  • thnaks that pretty interesting, as i need the idle on my scooter adjusted

  • i did a vid about cleaning the carb so check it out. Im just uploading it
