man, i have a total different life and computers is a no go. but how you explained everything and your happiness nearly convinced me to like what i never liked.
if librarian won't work for you in the future-you will make it as a sales person sweetheart. all the best girl.
ah thank you. i actually don't have that course in my area. do you think "information technology" will do if i want to become a librarian? it's a 2 year associate's program
@hotpocket716 AHH! I just realized I never answered your question, I'm sorry!
"Information Technology" is another great place to start - if you were to apply at a Library, you'd be hired on as a technician, which is basically the same as I am.
However, the nice thing about 'Info Tech' is that you can apply anywhere there is information that needs to be organized. Libs, gvmnt, hospitals, business' etc. So a good choice! :D
@kojongau LOL! As a librarian, I love it when people answer their own questions. :D Thanks for all your nice words. Your reference to "kosher" terms made me lol. It randomly reminded me of a "Foamy the squirrel" short: "Kosher Crackers" - if you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry. it's obscure and weird.
I'd actaully be impressed if you did know what the heck I was talking about.
@kojongau Do I detect a Canadian accent in your typing? :D And yes, "Sexy Librarianship 101" is a course we all have to take. That and how to "Shh" properly. ;)
Great video! I've always wondered how to get into this field of work. My mom is especially interested, but when she found out she needed a masters she gave up. It's too bad too since that was her life's dream. I'm going to send this vid to her. She already has top secret clearance so that might be a good foot in the door for her. Do you know if the course you spoke of is available in the US or it is just a Canadian option? She's in her 60s now, do you know if her age would be a problem?
Great video, really informative. Thanks for taking the time to help us who are looking for a career!

@cerebulon Age is never a problem, esp in colleges.
We had ages from 18 - 40 in my class.
I believe its in many US colleges as well, but you'd have to do more research! Hope your Mum looks into it.
