  • I have those hipnopopic or hypnagogic jerks all the time.

  • Déjà vu = LAG easy.

  • Im blind but i can see

  • i'm scared

I CAME HERE FROM MINECRAFT VIDEOS!

  • I HATE THAT HYPNAGOGIC JERK!!!!

  • Presque vu makes me want to rip my hair out during a test. SO FRUSTRATING.

  • It's all french:

    Deja vu = already seen

    Presque vu = almost seen

    jamais vu = never seen

  • I get deja vu a lot from my dreams, where I'll dream of a place 5 years ago and recognize it when I actually go to a similar place.

  • And once again, my mind is blown. I tip my hat to thee, Michael.

  • jamais vu happens to me all the time

  • I friggin' hate that hypnagogic jerk. Deja Vu is kinda cool, though.

  • The hypnagogic jerk happens to me alllllll the time

  • the hypnogogic jerk happens to me a couple times a week. its a strange felling.

  • @agentgta007 I have the exact same thing happen to me

  • stop lying to the people deja vu is when you are experiencing a moment you forsaw in the past but you forgot and now you are trying to figure out why this moment is so familiar

  • That Was easy.

  • The apple thing at the end... Blew my mind!

  • Man, I hate Deja vu

  • Déjà vu is a movie o.0

  • @Emmanprince I think i saw it before

  • I see short seconds of the future in my dreams and i only remember it when i see it in real life

  • I learn more about stuff in this 6 min. video, then I do in 8 hours of school :P

  • One time I had been playing railroad tycoon for hours. I went to go sleep in the couch and guess I started to fall asleep I suddenly saw myself I a train track and the train was coming I jerked awake and was like WTF?

  • Whoa! I remember many years ago, my dad and I were trying to think of the actor's name who was in Ransom and Forrest Gump and many other movies we'd both seen and who we both were very familiar with but for the life of us we both couldn't remember his name. Is this a common occurrence with Gary Sinese????

  • I used to have deja vu,.. but then i took an arrow in the knee

  • @ADudeNamedCharlie how would that stop you frm having deja vu idiot

  • Ah.

That's where my brain got to.

Anyway, is it weird that I sometimes dream places and Minor events before they happen?

  • @TheAlphaShadows you watched a movie?

  • Why couldn't you of been my teacher? lol

  • I have dreams like this almost every week and the length of time between which they happen is starting to become shorter and shorter. I am currently working on ways to control this, and become a clairvoyant

  • Comment removed

  • Can you do an episode on sleep paralysis?

  • I get that jamais vu a lot with words when typing papers

  • I have had all of these symptoms... is that strange?

  • As I started watching this video, I felt deja vu. I thought that I was the only person who felt this and that maybe somewhere outside of our Solar System, someone is using a time machine and it is somehow affecting me. And I have only watched 4 seconds of the video... for now. :/

  • Déjà V0:00?

  • Fake that brain isn't real lol jk

  • False.

Deja vu is simply a corruption in the Matrix. I thought everyone knew that.

  • @Wardog0004 I just ROFL'd

  • @Wardog0004 no time has all ready happen

  • @urantiruslan i think this explains it better than any of us

    /watch?v=z_KmNZNT5xw

  • So many ANSWERS!!!!!

  • Deja Vu is very mysterious. Could be more than most people conventionally think.

  • Deja Vu is more like your mind finding something constant in your life and representing it as a memory. Like when you see a person that you dont know their name and you dont notice them there appears before you your mind relates that to the "prediction" it had made and then goes back to fill in the information about the prediction to finish a "mental picture" that then feels very familiar and gives you the feeling of it have already happened.

  • I hate having Hypnogogic Jerks!

  • You should be my teacher. :)

  • What about long term déjà vu like u see for couple of years then when it happens u change it the events that u saw.

  • i allways get my déjà vu as a dream and when i wake up i remember them then later on i forgot those dreams and when i get my déjà vus in real life i remember them from my dream

  • :43 whoaa, deja vu

  • I have literally never had Deja vu..it sounds weird

  • Bowl, bowl, bowl, bowl, bowl, bowl, bowl.

  • Explain headaches, what our brains doing during one, and why we get a physical "ache/pain"

  • @amionutube Bloodflow to the brain can cause headaches.

  • Oh my god. I had a similar theory on deja vu; that the brain was receiving things just a second before the actual images processed in the brain. This kinda inspires me to study neurology more. thank you so much and please make more videos like this.

  • Are you a teacher?

  • Okay, you told me about presque vu & etc and also the meanings of them but what about when you dream something and it actually happened? Dont you guys wonder about that too?

  • If this is interesting to you, you should research temporal lobe epilepsy and disassociation disorders.

  • I have every symptom but I'm twelve, almost 13 so I geuss it's okay to have them. I always get that muscle twitch like every other day, it scares me :O

  • I hope that in the future schools would belike this vid

  • is it possible to have deju va after seeing the same thing in a dream

  • @darkshadowH4RT thats what happened to me

  • I have every symptoms Michael said...My brain is damaged and I am watching vsause to repair it.

  • My head hurts lol

  • Is time travel caused by this. In class, I realized the bell just rnag and got up for lunch. I then was told the bell hadn't rang yet. I then watched my chair when the bell rang and saw a glimmer of me sitting there. Fo shizzle.

  • @TheSupernerd98 i think thats brain damage

  • I got a presque vu when trying to remember what presque vu was... derp

  • Have I seen this before?

  • Jamais Vu. awesome explanation. I've always wondered when I start thinking about a certain thing, for example: Spoons, spoon, hmm spoon. why is it called spoon? what? it doesn't even :S -mindf****d-

your Vsaucepisodes are extremely educational. how are you NOT a TV show? xD keep up the good info :]

  • You know when you see Michael in the thumbnail holding a model brain your mind is about to be blown

  • I get the word thing all of the time. Where I look at a word I know and it suddenly seems alien. I thought I was the only one, now I know its a common thing. :)

  • What about deja vu from dreams to reality? And no I don't mean dreaming precognition.

  • How about a "vu" or something where I can move my eyes/ see something in a certain way, like seeing a brick wall at this speed and at this angle, and I feel like I knew that was going to happen/ I have done it before!

  • woah. I'm sure i saw this before, but I cant remember when or where.

  • You deserve more veiwers

  • @VultaGamingChannel thx it helps alot

  • i get that! it's like biscuit, what kind of a word is biscuit? it's like biss kit. i mean WTH?

  • is there something like deja vu when you feel like your dreaming because certain noises are very loud to you and you dont feel like you know the place that your in and you feel very muffled, sorry if im explaining it bad its hard to, but when i remember that moment i remember it as a dream recently i have gotten it allot, like now yesterday and many times before but when i take a shower and the water goes really hot it goes away im 11 yrs old if it helps :P

  • Idk if it's Deja vu, but sometimes when I dream I dream of the scene, it's for barley a second then a few weeks later I see that scene again, exactly like the one from my dream. Example; I dreamt I sprinted and then jumped into a frozen lake, then a few weeks later when I went with my friends to a vacation lodge, it happened again. I'm 19 if this helps

  • @Thaonejoel sometimes i write some of my dreams, just when i wake up. and if i got a déja vu, well i can confirm or not if that was what i dreamed about... try it , because for me.... it was astonishing (sorry for my bad english ^^)

  • @Thaonejoel Same! happens to me all the time!

  • @Thaonejoel exactly, that's why I think we can actually look into the future

  • I see what you did there with the hand at the end ;3

  • @MrDupelidoo That's so true :)

  • All of these things have happened to me

  • Mommmmyy... I dont need to go to school anymore!

  • its not presque vuits vuja de

  • one time I have felt like i was falling or not being supported right when i was about to sleep, and im like what the heck.

  • @567legodude happens to everyone , commonly called the hypnic jerk

  • what if deja vu meant that you lost a life and are you starting back up from your last checkpoint?

  • I learned more in this 7 min video, than I learn in a whole day of school

  • @silismo did you also learn that this vid is monetised nows thats Deja vu

  • @silismo a whole fuckin month .

  • @silismo haha funny u say that cuz i just watched this video in school 2day

  • @silismo sorry i meant yesterday

  • @silismo The education system is horrible.

  • finally i know why I have Hypnagogic jerks and what they are called

I always wonder how long i was asleep for and now i know i never was

  • wow....6 minutes and 36 seconds of useful information!!! thanks!! ;) :) c-:

  • there is practical way to cause it mister, a few inhalations of raw ether and u will understand that dejavu is just a delay-slowmotion between parts of the brain for intance u saw something it passed in memory with a delay in time perception and then u realise something is wrong u feel like u have lived that insident long time before it happened but u just lived it a few milisecond ago

  • ive had Deja Vu, Presque Vu, and Jamais Vu. and the one that is most interesting, is Jamais Vu. not too long ago i was just doing that, where i kept saying a word over and over and over. and after a while it started sounding very unfimilar and almost as if it wasnt a real word. i had always wondered why that was. and now i thank vsauce for explaing it

  • AWW I thought I had time traveled or had future sight

  • Love a song.

    Play it.

Over and over and over and over again.

    Get bored of it.

Hear it on the radio three weeks later "OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!" XD

  • I had the weirdest Deja Vu two days ago when I was doing my science homework. I "remembered" doing those same exact questions a few days ago, but I couldn't remember exactly when. The weird part was that I "remembered" the answer to those questions.

  • @MrBelchinator THAT HAPPENED TO ME A FEW WEEKS AGO, NO LIE :O

  • @MrBelchinator Reading your comment just gave me deja vu. i remember reading this comment before, but i dont know when, and the weird part is i knew the rest of the sentence before i was finished reading.

  • @MrBelchinator That, or you just studied a lot

  • @MrBelchinator The brain is WAY more complicated than the theories we have for the way it functions - and that's what leaves room for the idea of a supernatural realm...

That's where God comes in, and not based on the religious bullshit people blindly follow for socioeconomic and cultural reasons, but only in the sense and belief of a higher power somewhere out there!

  • If school was this fucking interesting, I would have A in all classes.

  • whenever i want to sleep, i just watch 5 of ur videos. thanks! (typed with 1 hand due to me falling asleep)

  • THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!!!!

  • I feel like I just watched this video.

  • sometimes when I have Deja-vu I can predict what will happen next.... it is really weird.... and I am always right. Weird...

  • @imask8r i wish i could tell you what kind... after all the tests and everything i had done, all they could tell me was that it *wasn't* epilepsy

but it was very very trippy, and sometimes it felt like the future also

  • Wow, the brain is so intense! Makes me wish I went into Neuroscience. Not for the first time, either and probably not for the last.

  • Question# is dejavu also why we dream like into the future ? Like for example like in a dream you did or saw some thing nd the next day or later on you remember doing the same thing with details?.

  • @roachneck101 In fact, that's exactly what "déjà vu" is. But your brain needs an answer and then assumes that you must have dreamt of that event, otherwise it would make no sense to recall it. That's what Michael explains from 2:35 to 3:10.

  • anyone else just watch these videos to hear his epic voice?

  • Title should be: What might Deja Vu be.... misleading

  • That awkward feeling when the blind guy next to you gets a boner from simply looking at you

  • The only constant as always seems to be.....

    Seems To Be??

    ??

    SEEMS TO BE?

    WHAT IS IT DAMMIT

  • @k0kane He meant "thanks for watching" as the "only constant" dumbass

  • Wow, I can't believe those last two things were actually science!!! XD really cool!

  • yet again my mind has been blown!!!!!!!!!! keep making these videos

  • At 4:31 I instantly thought 'Gary Sinise' from CSI:New York. Then at 5:10 I was so happy xD

  • the outro made me think

  • Deja Vu = respawning from last checkpoint :P

  • Your French is... interesting.

  • i had deja vu while watching this.

  • 1:29 look a little bit to the left and there is a penis

  • It's crazy how you think that all these weird things only happen to you, then you go online and find that the exact same weird stuff happens to others as well. It seems to happen more to me though.....

  • I'm so happy I found vsauce. I love learning :D

  • I just got mindfucked

  • 4:55 "people in the group with seperate brains". Well. They're not gonna have the same brain now, are they?

  • I used to have siezures, and deja vu happened all the time. It was really trippy because it would make me feel oddly euphoric. But it was also pretty scary because I would usually have a siezure afterword.

  • @mostnormal what kind of seizures? cause i got deja vu almost everyday for like 6-8 months and its finally stopped up a lot

  • @mostnormal im asking cause it was Trippy scary and i started thinking i had seen the future before and a lot of thinking went on that shouldnt have because of it, im asking what kind cause maybe i was seizing

  • lol I've seen this vedeo before.. I think.. :O

  • @TeamVikong OMG!! Deja Vu.... or just.....replay... hehe!

  • man...I've experienced all these vu!!

  • He should be on tv! So educate! Fun way for learning! I love you!!! c:

  • When I was about 7 I had a dream where I woke up and fell down the stairs. I woke up and the SAME EXACT THING happened... what would that be? I am not lying, it happened the same way it happened in the dream

  • @XsniperPro1 I had a similar experience. In grade school I dreamed I missed my bus and it was horrible, but then i woke up and was relieved it was a dream. Of course then i looked at my clock and realized I actually missed it! it was very weird. like i told the future in my dream.

  • @zombietomatoeseatinu Exactly! I have done it a few times but I forget the others. It's like, my brain tells me whats going to happen within a few hours of me waking up or even the whole day sometimes. Or my brain will send me ideas of things that might happen. Like I had a dream where I took a test and everything said second chances so I got mad and rage quit. Then, I woke up and talked to the girl I liked and then she just stopped giving me chances and she quit. Littleoff

  • sometimes I see the future days or weeks before

  • I first learned the awesomeness of repeating words until they seemed weird on youtube(communitychannel), learned the philosophical impacts of it here(Phil Kaye- Repetition) and now I understand the science behind it with this video... Awesome.

  • If you experience many jerks, is that a problem?

  • If you experience many jerks, is that a problem??

  • And there I was thinking....I swear I've seen this video before...

  • Comment removed

  • I hate that jerk thing..

    Body: mm sleepy sleepy sleep

Brain: oh shit you're falling wake the fuck up

    BODY DOES SPAZ ATTACK

    Body: AAAAHHH! God damnit brain!!

  • So why do i know for a split second, whats gonna happen next?.. someone coming through the door for example? huh?

  • @JackalzHD Yea i know what ur talking about. It happened to me when i was around 15 years old. The last time it was in a math class probably 15 years old. I knew what is going to happen and everything happened like i was anticipating it was fucking strange. It lasted for around 10 seconds and i was aware of it and i tried really bad to do something to not let the future i was seeing happen. And i tried but failed and since then i never experienced this kind of event. its really strange.

  • @JackalzHD how old are u?

  • @JackalzHD u could try to do something to change the future u see coming. u will fail caus the curiosity of seeing if it will really happen and the surprise effect (u never know when ''the vision'' will happen) will probably won like for myself. And let me know if u experience it after u tried to change the future. Just an experiment.

  • @666TheMetalmaniac666 Its not happened for a while but happened alot when i was around the age 17-19, im 20 now, but it will sound as thought i know the future for 10 seconds or so but i assure you i dont, its just like...

*Aware of the moment is deja vu.

*Remembering what happened in my deja vu (my vision i sought before)

*and trying to think ahead ( for example someone coming through the door, and they did) can be coincidence but freaky.

*all within a small amount of time.

  • Yea i learn more here than in school! Lol

  • Please come teach every class at KU...

  • Pats lost to the Giants today :(

I feel like this has happened before.

  • i feel like i've seen this all before o_O

  • That's not true. Deja vu occurs when something in The Matrix is changed.

  • @yasbyeyeLashgirl touche`

  • 1:30 BRAIN PENIS

  • i think have learned more in these 2 hours warching vsauce than i did in school the last few weeks.

  • I always say words over and over again until i start to question why the heck is it a word? it just sounds like a bunch of wierd sounds o.O i thought i was the only one but i guees not! lol

  • i got the hypnagogic jerk at school i tried to fall asleep during world geography because i finished the final, so then it happends and my parten freaks out because my hand jerked to her face!

  • And I always do that twitchy thing when ure about to fall asleep then you jerk awake, but I was having a dream and then I was falling of a cliff, I jerked awake and realised I had fallen out of bed and was on the floor. -_-

  • I once said 'here' so many times it freaked me out cos it didn't even sound human anymore... O_o

  • I hate presque vu! I once forgot what the sink is called -.-

  • @Larentia95 i hate it when presque vu makes you forget your girl friends name...

  • I swear I've seen this video before...
