A whole lotta fun....you said it exactly! Your journal is what I want to learn to create....something fun, spontaneous, with no rules or expectations.
I really enjoyed looking at your journal books. And I love how you say papers that you are afraid to use because they are your treasured papers....Most of my treasured papers are of the Elsie Flannigan (Larson) days. Thanks for the great Ideas!
I don't know how you do it Paula.....You rocked this book!!!!! Everything is just PERFECT!!!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE your work.....Always have and always will!!!!! x
Such an awesome way to use those papers (so we can get more, right? lol)!!! You are such a genius! Between my hoard of papers, my Bindk-it-All and all those book-rings I have stashed around here, I bet I can make a bazillion of these. Thanks for sharing Paula...you are the best!
Okay I have to admit it I treasure paper too. I need to make the 6x6 book! And just love it for a while. Your a wonderful teacher and I have so enjoyed all you streams and videos!
What a relieve to have found someone who hordes, uhm, I mean treasures paper as much as I do. And I will so steal your idea! I already see me sitting at my desk with a cup of coffee at hand just flipping through the pages and adoring the paper *LOL*
Thank you for your inspirational video! And now I'm off to learn about the "double distressed waxed paper technique" (what a mouthful *g*)
I really liked your video!! It inspired me :) Thanks. I have a question. Where did you get the "wire rings? I live in Toronto. I look forward for your next video! Viv
Yea! A Big Rage, now why didn't we think of that? I'm finding alot of people making there own smash books. I always say wished I had 2 of everything, 1 to use and 1 to I admire. I'm making an Exploding Sm@sh Box, I am working on take 8, oh my. But l love this! Always loved your work. Anyway stop by and tell me what you think. Would love to hear from you. BTW...would like to see more videos from you, have you been real busy? Take care, TFS and God Bless.
I'm the same way with my favorite papers! They're too pretty to use. I can't bear to cut them up!! LOL! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels that way.
Ooo...I love, love, love your homemade smash book! Such a great way to use up our old & neglected paper stash & stickers! Love your creativity! I'm off to make my own too! TFS!
Beautiful projects like always, Paula. I was thinking of making my own smash style book too and I really like your style and vision for yours. you inspire. tfs, hugs, amy k
What a great idea....I was thinking of doing something like that, but actually looking at yours just made me actually do it. I like tha fact that you can choose the paper you use and can take the messed up experiments out because of the way it is binded. love those rings
I noticed that it looked like you have left the paper white on the back side... do you leave that for painting on with different mediums?.... some of the paper I would like to used for my "trash" book isn't very heavy... I was thinking about glueing 2 together... I love your work!!!...
I love this Paula. I'm working up to being brave enough to start an 'artsy' type journal. I haven't a clue where to start but you give me loads of inspiration
I really Love the idea of this, I just have to work up the nerve to dive in and make one of my own! I don't have a whole lot so I tend to "Treasure" What I do have, lol. I'd Love to see It again in the Future when You've got it filled up some more! TFS!
Ugh...I'm so afraid to try this! I just have such a hard time trying to just "let it out" lol. Anyways...thanks for sharing....maybe someday I will get up the nerve! TFS ~Tracy~
Love your books!! I am making one now too, I hope to have a video up this week-end. Thanks for the idea of using paint. I have some white pages that are just too bare and paint will really help!
I agree that many of us can create our own Smash books... but I like that the industry is understanding and introducing the journaling process to more people out there. I think the Smash book is a great start for those who don't already journal.
Cool junk journal, I think it's definitely a nice way to use up your scraps and make a journal for yourself. Much like remains of the day, junque and scrappy journal projects...
love both of your books. i no longer have treasured bits anymore. just like with painting, if you have something you start to feel too precious about, paint over it so it doesn't hold up the entire process.
Fun! Paula, this looks like it is so relaxing and sounds like free creativity ! Brilliant idea Paula. Thanks so much for sharing ! Kind regards, Olga MIA
EXCELLENT! I made one of these after your suggestion on UStream and LOVE it for the same reason you do...just plain fun and easy with no plan needed. I think it will help me be free-er in my reg. art journal. Thanks for yet ANOTHER fab idea!! Hugs, Julie
Hay Paula! I can bare to cut into my treasured (hoarded) 12x12 into 6 x 6! I am making my own "Travel/Smash/Trash book to take on our Vacation. Yours is great! =D
LOVE IT....you're always right on the mark Paula! WHY oh WHY buy a "smash book" when we all have so many more wonderful papers, stickers, embellies, tags...everything... than they can put in a manufactured book??? Make it yours from the start not take manufactured and try to make it your own! Love watching your videos and super talent. TFS and Have a Great Canada Day!!!! RuthAnn
Hi MY PAULA!!! This is one of the most awesome junk journals I have seen (but then again it is made by you) And the smaller one has some of my fav papers in it too! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
"TRASH BOOK" Clever Paula at her best AGAIN! Way kewl and a treasure of a decade of your paper and stuffs (not hoard, lol)....I DIG IT and YOU for sharing. You always bring a smile and giggle for me when I watch your vids. Peace and Love, Dar
AWESOME seeing more of your pages - LOVE the new camera angle also! You have inspired me to cut into some of my old papers - that I was treasuring....LOL!
Love your books Paula, especially the purple page with the mannaquins on the first book. It wouldn't be a Paula journal without finding a random stencil inside! Hehehe These books are so much fun, and inspire me to create my own! Thanks for sharing. you're the bestest P!
You are SO right - why let my fav papers sit in a box! I don't have to make a project - just put them together and look at them, pet them, get inspired! Work on them only if I want to. I am making my stash book today! LOL! Thanks for spurring me on!
Love the papers in your "trash". I'd love to make one of these. Just to see papers, like you said. Love watching your vids. thanks for sharing. Happy 4th in the states. Flirtini
