Hello, I'm looking up videos concerning Ahuacatitlan. My dad was born there, and we stumbled upon this video. He recognized the name of this town because his mother used to speak a lot about it...and her last name happens to be Brito as well. Coincidence?
I'm trying to track down my family's history, so if any of these names ring a bell, I'd love to hear from you. If not, well....it's worth asking. Thanks!
@ant2090hi there, we are all originaly from ahucatitlan and i my father give me a lil info, doñA MARTINA BRITO which still alive living in AHUACATITLAN AT HIS TIME doughter of PALEMON BRITO(father)LORENZA DE BRITO(mother) SISTER OF JUAN,SIMITRIO, AND MARCELINO, so if you guys wanna contact her she will be there with her mother LORENZA.
Usually ppl who go visit these rural places in Tierra Caliente act prety silly. I don't blame them: life there is pretty simple and there isn't much to do. But everyone who had had grown up in these places would agree that there's much more than their activities - these villages are kind of magical: you feel as if time slows down and thus, life is less stressful.
Hope your vacations there are as special as I experience mine. Happy 2010.
The people in the village were real poor, so none of the children had any toys. But this one little boy had gotten an old enema bag and filled it with rocks, and he would go around and whap the other children across the face with it. Man, I think my heart almost broke. Later the boy came up and offered to give me the toy. This was too much! I reached out my hand, but then he ran away. I chased him down and took the enema bag. He cried a little, but that's the way of these people.
i dont think its rural i think its beautiful, you seem to like to explain are you a teacher? anyways you should concentrate on how to enjoy your stay there how to have fun exct.
What?...why is this a fairy-like village? I'm from Chicago and have friends here that are from La Concordia...I too am also curious to know if you are from La Concordia, you seem to really know the place.
Yes...I am a native of La Concordia, Guerrero. My family and I live in Olympia, Washington and we visit this fairy tale like village about every 2-3 years. You could be born in a poverty stricken war torn country..yet this does not detach you from your place of birth. This is why I call it my fairy tale like village...a place of magical adventures.
I also have distant cousins who live Chicago like the Bustamantes, Britos, and Reynas.
That is awesome, the videos are great, and the little girls insight adds a nice touch to the documentary. I plan on going to Guerrero(Ometepec & Cuajinicuilapa)and doing a little bit of the same seeing as all i have are videos of Acapulco which is nothing compared to this. Here in Chicago they have "bailes" for La Concordia, which serve to collect money for roads, education and such.
