Thank you for being an authentic person sharing how to honestly and realistically pursue an acting career. You seem like someone I can listen to. I am at the beginning of pursuing my acting career. At the moment I have private lessons with an acting coach and I have very few jobs on my resume. Tom, what would you suggest I do at this point? I am 22, have taken classes for about 1 year. I want to be an actress so badly! I am 14 years old and I'm a girl. I have been looking at local agencies but first I'm trying to build up a resume. I have been in only 3 plays but I am looking to audition for many before sending a resume to an agent. I am having trouble finding commercial auditions because to me that would be good experience. Hi this video was great I've just finished reading Breaking into acting for Dummies which sticks it to you as well along with Anna Devere Smith's memior to a young Artist along with Tony Barr's acting for the camera and your advise is on point I knew I wanted to act since 7 and I've just recieved my BA from USC in Theatre so you hit the nail on the head but I'm very serious and willing to hone this craft and soak up any and all knowledge about it please keep posting because I'm listing

I started acting lessons,singing and dancinglessons at the age of 8. I really want to persue an actingcareer but the belgian market is really limited. So I've always toyed with the idea of trying it in London, New york or LA. But I have no idea where to get started. Could you give me some advice?

Hello :) I'm 13 years old. and plan to spend my life building a career out of it. I have been doing local plays for some years. I've been in around six musicals, improv classes, character development classes and other such things. I plan to major in theater, but what can I do to move forward even before collage? I would like to get an agent, but my local agencies all focus on modeling which I'm not interested in and certainly don't have the shape for. How should I move forward from here?

Dear Becky, You seem to be doing everything that is availiable to you, i.e. acting class, improv, etc. I assume you sing and dance as well since you mentionned being in 6 musicals. You are becoming what we call in the business a triple threat; acts, sings, dances. If you want to pursue a career in theater those talents are indispensable. I plan to do a vlog on how to find an agent in the coming weeks. Thanks for your subscription.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, we've been looking into agencies, but I have four siblings and it doesn't seam like we'll be mobile enough as a family to do audtions or jobs outside our city. It frustrates me because we live about 2-4 hours from new york, but that is just a BIT too far for everyone else :(

Iam a guy who has found himself an actor again at 40 after more than a decade away from acting.

I first acted when I was 28 or 29 with a short-play experiemental theater troupe.

After 21/2 years, the troupe closed shop and I quit acting.

10 plus years later, I decide to relcutantly audition to kill time.

After my second audition, I get a part as a football coach in a student film.

I then ended up doing 4 more films-both student and indie last year.

Weird.
