This was supposed to mark the return of Deacon Sharpe, Hope's biological father. In the hospital, Hope was supposed to wake up with memory loss, get out of bed, leave the hospital and start wandering on the streets where Deacon was supposed to find her, take her to his home, take care of her and bond with her. He was going to do all this without notifying Brooke. Unfortunately, that story had to be axed because Sean Kanan(Deacon) wasn't available at the time.

Thankfully, Hope survived this! There used to be posted on here some clips of this crisis (dubbed in German which I only understand a few words of). Nick was discussing Brooke with some guy, not paying close attention to Hope when this near-tragedy occured. Later, Grandma Steph was talking to her CPS friend about this incident and her concern about Brooke's competancy in selecting sitters when a 911 call came in about the fire Hope started with Nick's lighter he carelessly left behind. :(

The fire occurred in 7/07 (sometime after this accident) when Brooke turned her back on RJ & Hope for one moment; that's when Hope was playing with the lighter & accidently started the fire. (Sadly, these incidents illustrate that it only takes one moment of turning your back on a toddler for a near-tragedy to occur).Due to these incidents Brooke temporarily lost custody of her kids.
