  • Great video Is it possible for the piston to be top dead centre and not be on the compression stroke?

    Thanks

  • @stampy7777 Yes. The piston is at top dead center between the exhaust and intake stroke. Thanks for watching!

  • Good video. Can you replace the T-30 bolts with standard ones?

  • @FlyBoyMike1000 I guess you can as long as there the same grade and there is room. Thanks for watching!

  • What brand lift bench is that

  • @th19940305 Its a Harbor Freight motorcycle lift.

  • How'd you learn all this?

  • @MRSketch09 Reading, listening and doing. Thanks for watching!

  • @smallengineshop Thanks for the answer. Now another question, wherd'd you get the confidence to feel like you could do it? Serious question.

  • @MRSketch09 I have always enjoyed working with my hands and working on engines, so I don't really have a point in time where I went from feeling anxious to confident. If this is an issue for you, and you want to learn small engine repair, than take a class with hands on work with an instructor to help you.

  • @smallengineshop Alright. Thanks very much!

  • I did this and the fumes made me VOMIT; then I SHIT MY PANTS! :-D

  • @waterfordjim Messy!

  • i have the same one mine has a problem its blows oil out of the fill tube every time i try to start it can it be the piston rings seized to the piston?

  • @sasquach18990 Check the crankcase breather, and the oil level.

  • lol just it sounded like you threw every tool down

  • @dwarf365 Oh, that's what you mean. Ya, I guess I do toss the tools around. : )

  • sounds like you hate your tools.

  • @dwarf365 I like my tools. Thanks for watching!

  • Excellent vid! I think my lash is wrong on mt 14.5hp tech rider. It's very hard/slow cranking and won't fire up. Before, it would run and be fine for 30-40 min. Once it was real hot, the motor would die. It Would only restart and run with choke. It'd still die completely till cooled off. I've done all the easy stuff: carb clean, check flywheel key, filters, hoses, etc. You think it needs re-lashed?

  • @flubyux2 Sounds like a fuel problem, but its hard to say for sure without having the engine in front of me.

  • I have a quick question. I completely took apart my spar lawn mower engine to thoroughly clean it. The problem I have ran into is this, I cannot find a cheap piston ring compressor. My piston has 3 rings and I can't put them in by hand. I bought a cheap one from Harbor freight but it is too big.

  • @PBballer23list Check ebay for "briggs & stratton ring compressor" Thanks for watching!

  • What are the chances of finding the exact mower/engine and issue I needed to fix on Youtube, outstanding!

  • @mjmpiano Glad it helped, and thanks for watching.
