@sherbert500 What I've always thought (or usually think during Maladroit-era shows where he's in a suit) was that Rivers didn't give a shit what he sounded like. This was the part of the era where he became an arrogant asshole.
In his mind, he was the best musician in the world on that stage.
this is one of my favorite songs... but weezer is old there all 40 years old and scott is 45. but... i respect that and the best thing is their coming up with better songs. the thing that sucks is they JUST HAVE to put Josh Freeze in the band... they messed the band up because rivers just wanted to be free. and i respect that. BUT I LIKE OLD WEEZER BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome song. You know It's nice on Hurley how it shows this type of evolution of Weezer, from a washed up garage band to a rock super-tastic-awesome that is Weezer
Used to be washed up? Now "rock super-tastic-awesome"? I think you have it backwards. The Blue Album and Pinkerton are considered some of the greatest albums of the 90s. Weezer, now, is looked at as a joke pretty much. I still love em. But the new albums aren't half as good as the first 2.
No, that would be Rivers by far. Or at least Patrick before Scott. Anyways, Shriner isn't half as good of a bassist/vocalist as Matt Sharp (Weezer's old bassist).
The Weezer drummer is so amazing. One of the really good things about him is he knows what not to play and just plays simple beats throughout, but his fills are just awsome and stuff :p
Regardless of missteps this decade (Make Believe in full), I think Maladroit is a contender for this decades most underrated classic. Keep Fishin, Burndt Jamb, American Gigolo and the heartwarming Slave are brilliant.
Every Weezer album is quality , except Raditude. That one has failed me. I get tired of these Blue / Pinkerton purists. They are anal douches who smell their own farts
im not biased as hell mate why the fuck would i even be biased there is nothing to be biased about... i have listened to the new albums i actually have the red album and i think that its very poor except for pork and beans and the angel and the one, raditude is awful except for if your wondering if i want you to and put me back together.... pinkerton and the blue album r both amazing and consistently amazing all the way through ...IMO
Agree with you completely mate, I always thought it was Matt who kept Rivers on track, because after he left Rivers turned Weezer into a "Please give us a top ten hit" band. Scott seems like the wrong sort of person to be in Weezer, he's a great guitarist, just seems wrong for Weezer.
I get what qwerty887 is saying...the red album is definitely wayy more experimental than pinkerton and the blue album. I personally like their older stuff better...but as a musician, I know it's fun to experiment with songs and let the ideas flow. I don't like the red album either.
@fuchalo yeah but ratitude and red and make believe (the start of it all) completely says Sell out. Not even for the sake of music. It's kinda ridiculous that the same genius that wrote blue and Pinkerton and even Maladroit could write such crap like Beverly Hills and call it a Weezer song. It's like having sex with animals. you just don't.

Dude Pinkerton was the beginning of the sellout...They were supposed to come out with Songs from The Black Hole...but it never happened. And then they went lazyyynesss with it.That SHOULD have been Pinkerton. But it wasn't. They released it, and even though it was a commercial failure, it was still sell out. Not to say I don't LOVE Pinkerton as it is. XD
BLAH BLAH BLAH EVERYONE IS A SELLOUT, I LOVE TALKING OUT MY ASS ABOUT EVERYTHING. Everyone needs to shut the fuck up and just LISTEN to music, instead of bitching about it for once.
Rivers doesnt look right in a suit or with a Les Paul...and Pat was too bald. Lol
