Matt is the Man! Saw him with the Rock N' Worship Roadshow with 6 other bands, blew my mind. Cooler though was having lunch with him in Seattle for a Life Teen Training Conference. We ate not so great spaghetti and talked music, and ministry. 2006, he still hadn't broken into main stream christian radio yet. :-) God bless you Matt for the gift you are to our faith. Okay so the Roman Catholic faith has been in the hands of some quite evil men and people who we're definitely not following Jesus. But can you label everyone under the same name? I know some amazing catholics who love Jesus with all their hearts and spread the kingdom of God with humility and grace. I have also seen "true Christians" that definitely do now follow Jesus. If you take time to read them you will find out how little was changed. If anything, Vatican II cleared up a lot of misunderstanding and solidified what the Church taught. I know some amazing catholics who love Jesus with all their hearts and spread the kingdom of God with humility and grace. I have also seen "true Christians" that definitely do now follow Jesus. I think it depends on your heart not you're religious label. Matt Maher sings amazing and beautiful praise to the One True God

@AsILayPlaying319 Lets be realistic now, in my opinion and observations it's not the religious person that makes it to heaven and into the kingdom of our everlasting king, but its the person that overcomes religion to have a true relationship with god and lives his/her life to follow what GOD says not what some fake person claiming to be chosen by god (a.k.a. The pope) says. Don't know what religion is the right way to heaven? Then follow the word of god (Bible) to heaven.

wow once again it saddens me that people who listen to these songs can't hear the voice of God through the music. If Matt Maher believed in works based salvation that why would every song he writes testifys to God's grace. Woulnd't he have written "Your Grace isnt Enough"? or "Still dead in my Sin's" instead of alive again or "Our works will Hold us Together?" From the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Matt has an abundance of fruit stored in his heart from the Lord Jesus and shares it!!!

Although I agree that alot of the Catholic religion revolves around non-scriptural rituals and laws that does not mean that all catholics are going to hell. but all "christians" will not be seeing the Kingdom of God either. @3mattz32003 No, we do not believe that salvation is works-based. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned. We hold true to tradition and biblical writings that faith without works is dead - it's not really saving faith. This is one of the most misunderstood thing about Catholics, that we think we earn our salvation. Is it our works that save us? No. But are they necessary? Yes. Fun fact, the only time in the bible where the words "faith alone" are mentioned is when it's condemned

@victord2415 Vatican II changed no major Church teachings. Frankly, the documents released from Vatican II didn't even change the Mass much. If you take time to read them you will find out how little was changed. If anything, Vatican II cleared up a lot of misunderstanding and solidified what the Church taught. Read some of the documents for yourself, you will see for yourself.

Satan is the master of deception and prefer Matt Maher to be stuck in a spiritual rut blinded in sin and silenced from hearing the voice of our Father. Honestly, I looked back to find it but I believe it was flagged for removal because it was so offensive. I prayerfully considered how I responded, out of love. The person was calling Catholics devil worshipers and accusing Matt of singing about Satan instead of God. By asking, "How would Satan shatter darkness?" I was raising the point that clearly the song is saying only God can.
