Schöne Erinnerung an meine Kindheit, lief damals im Deutschen Fernsehen........Hudson, den Butler, fand ich am besten, und die dicke Küchenmamsell, Thanks a lot! Danke!
@fairhillnorrie Board, fed up, had enough..... Same repeats day in day out and how some of these people got jobs on tv is beyond me. They have no talent what so ever, except the talent to bore you to death and we have the privalage of paying double not only a tv licence but if you have sky or virgin as well ....A time machine would be good right now.
My first meeting with british tv as a child. Now I can´t live without the british tv series like Sherlock Holmes, Upstairs downstairs and the Period dramas from the BBC. Love the british tv landscape!
UNA SERIE VERDADERAMENTE ENTRAÑABLE, ALGO PARA RECORDAR TODA LA VIDA JUNTO CON SU TEMA MUSICAL QUE ES TAN HERMOSO COMO INOLVIDABLE. EL ACTOR DAVID LANGTON, VERDADERAMENTE ERA Y SEGUIRÁ SIENDO ADORABLE, LO AMARÉ TODA LA VIDA. GRACIAS POR ESTOS MARAVILLOSOS RECUERDOS.
The BBC mounted a simlar series to UD also co-produced by John Hawksworth, The Dutchess of Duke Street, but it was ex Rediffusion drama man Rex Firkin as Head of Drama at relatively new LWT got UD to the screen, alongside Manhunt, Budgie, Seven Faces of a Women, Wicket Women and, Within These Walls, set in a women's prison, with Googie Withers..
The BBC are filming a remake and when LWT created Upstairs Downstairs it was orginally filmed in black / white due to a technicians strike over colour and the episodes were mothballed.
Then LWT controller Cyril Bennett was asked by ITV for a filler series for a Sunday to air 10.15pm after the ITN News. UD grew ever popular and was re-commsioned. I gather that's why actress playing Lady Marjorie was written out, sinking with the Titanic committed to other things. when the series took off
Just brilliant

I want more, now! I am so upset it has finished on ITV3, why don't they bring it back and all the old actors too? :-[
