  • My ears hurt

  • @STANDINGBEARz why did you listen to it then???!!!!

  • @SulAnthony what am I supposed to call people from AIM ? I support them all the way, and I want to be a part of AIM, but before I do, AIM should do a few massacres to get the message across.

  • @Bluefirefoley and act like those whos eye were trying to open you dun fight ignorance by becoming it. you fight by understanding it.

  • That dude needs to put that hand drum away he's throwing the natives off their beat.

  • i wouldnt want them to sing at my protest.....

  • My great-great grandmother was a full-blooded Crow from Montana. And I am proud.

  • Needs work.

  • quit singing on the fucking beat! you know how terrible that sounds!? damn...

  • anyone know the lyrics...Youth need to know!

  • @wkttygrl There really are no lyrics to the AIM song. Just listen to the song itself. It has a very set tone: a beautiful melody followed by a bone-chilling legacy of resistance within it. Record it and learn it.

  • My My name is Nathan Sack from Shubenacadie First Nation. This song is very often sung in honour of one of our band members that was involved in the AIM movement. This song is not a sundance song.

I would be very upset if i came across that type of song anywhere on youtube, as they are not meant to be posted here.

  • @n8v2hire Aho!

  • Real american music be PROUD!

  • yeah what wackassndn said about the handdrum, sheesh! idjiT! bet he got shunned good afterward...

  • My kids came running in the room when they heard this. They remembered the song from their Papa singing it to them when they were babies. He sings it to all the grandchildren. Love it!

  • I just happened upon this video and you know what? F%&k that dude with the hand drum. Idiot.

  • i posted a year ago on how horrible i feel this song is sang then put on video i would of loved to see the lead singer seriously crack that dude

  • it semms like the guy with the hand drum was messing them up

  • what the hells up wit the lead singer dood, im a hater when they all up in front of people reppin real ndnz, then sound like that. practice up fellaz

  • This is A powerful song Love it Go A.I.M ha I'm not racist but I am Lokota Myself and this song has too be remembered for all the ones who sang it while going thru war know what I mean NE ways love it

  • its not bad singing, you listen to older groups like back when cassette tapes were the thing, alot of them sound like this, plus, the respect of this particular song, you dont need to have any singing skill, its about the power thats been with this song and what this song has seen throughout the years, respect, is what this song needs and is getting with these men you are watching before you

  • A very POWERFUL song that is, me and some brothers sing this in our sweat. Let the drums rumble are the world with prayers for brother Leonard Peltier!HOOKAHEY!

  • Thats some pretty terrible singing there. Good song though.

  • right!

  • I actually know a guy down the street who was a member of AIM, and fought @ Wounded Knee, and he's in a drum-group called Red Land, and every once in a while, they will still sing the AIM song at pow-wows.

*FUN FACT* When Red Land did the AIM song back around the '73 seige @ Wounded Knee (and since about 90 % of Red Land were members of AIM) @ pow-wows all over Oklahoma, they were usually forced to leave the pow-wow immediately !!!!

  • how many full bloods do u think there are

  • why does that matter?

  • OMG...they still singing this song...I remember sinigng this song from way back...ho la

  • OMG....still singing the same song....ho la

  • very nice i love this drums...thank you for sharing awesome :))

  • ~!~I love this song ~!~

  • well st3v3h4py the "WASICU" to correct your proper LAKOTAH should not have been introduced to the DRUM! One of the most SACRED beings of the LAKOTAH since you obviously know it is a spirit, so just because you've probably spectated a sundance dont act like you know DRUM PROTOCAL! We now have Pow wows in Europe DRUM GROUPS from Europe NON NATIVE AMERICAN but i guess thats what we get for WASICU playin INDIAN and NEW AGE Traditionalist selling our ways...

  • thank you for posting the AIM anthem.

if it wasnt for AIM (American Indian Movement, not AOL Instant Messenger) singing this for the people in the 70s Internet Indians wouldnt be posting opinions about drum protocol today, or know what the Lakota word "wasichu" means, or know what a "Sundance" is.

  • lol instant messenger

don't wasichu mean white man in lakota??

  • the AIM song sadly has been molested over the years by those who do not understand our culture we now have wasicu singers who obviously do not know "drum" protocol and if its not the wasicu its the new-age traditionalists AIM was a good idea but later turned into a big dick contest for women and publicity not to take away from the legislation they did change for the betterment of the people but they fumbled the ball yo with only peace in my heart

    HUPAHUDUTA

  • where is wally feather?

  • tradition alwyas moves on otherwise it becomes sterile and only good for museums. so does morality

  • By the way, the people of Pine Ridge need donations for them to order what they can to keep themselves warm for this winter. As you know South Dakota winters are terrible. So donate at least twenty dollars if you can. Thanx.

  • I always wondered what this song was called. Now I know it's the American Indian Movement anthem. Sweet! Hey, it is true. If anyone here is truely protesting on Columbus day here, then speak up! We need to hear more words about this matter, not who sings this song and who is white or whatever! All our relatives need our help to make our voices be heard!

  • why they singing a sun dance song? Your not supposed to bring politics into the sun dance way of life, of course bunch of idiots like AIM members wouldnt know that,if they came to Canada they would get a good ass kicking for that.

  • wat the hell? this is the AIM song, its not a sundance song, damn cree's wouldnt know anything about that, get your sundance facts straight. go ask a lakota since they originated it. damn cree

  • True, true. But it was the Ojibwa who created the movement. The Lakota's were just a part of it like the Cheyenne and Mohawk, and all those other tribes who were asociated with AIM.

  • If you are learning this song at a sundance then you must be walking in everydirection getting culture from anyonwe who tells you.my grandmother was one of the ORIGINAL AIM MEMBERS,When women were not members-She was there over 89 years ago.Sorry its not a sundance song-I SAY WITH CONFIDENCE.

  • You can tell they are not bona fides considering they can't even get the drumming and singing down pact. They sound like a bunch of new agers.

  • lmao

  • Someone needs to straighten out Native American youth coz they are calling south-east Asian and Middle East folks sandniggers, camel jockeys, towelheads, etc yep Native American youth saying that to those people and making them walk away from Natives. If I was one of you guys, I'd work on correcting that problem coz it's making you look bad in eyes of us other indigenous folks and everyone all together. Brainwashed halfbreeds and churcher fool bloods, no good.

  • BUH! some or most of the guyz that are singing are natives of north america. A.I.M. is an acronym for the american indian movement that represents north america. not south-east asia. all derogatory names such as what u mentioned were not made by north american indians but by white people. all negative responses are usually by pow wow singers and dancers across the u.s. and canada, why?, becuz these guyz are tearin it!!! and besides u just wanted to say bad words on u-2b. whos the racist now?

  • dude i have no idea what u r talking about , but I'll tell u this . There's a big guy here he's Melanesian indigenous guy, black. If you call him a nigger in his face I think you'd be sent home to your hole in pieces. haha I think it wouldn't help you after that if you say you are Native from America and Pow wow and whatever that would just make it worse next time someone says they are from your location :|

  • hopefully one day people that dodgen mentions plus himself will stop bending over for whites and join in with the rest of the indigenous world. have hope

  • wif are u talking about ive been around native ppl and got a mom whos native n a dad whos north african ive never heard that stuff u talk about

  • I do agree...so how do you reply when some racist calls native american youths sandniggers, and so on? My son has come home so many times with this upset....when I was a kid I would get called wagon burner, and prairie nigger. I had no idea what this meant when I was a kid, but I knew it was mean. I try to tell my son to ignore such blatent ignorence, but people are just mean!

  • my daughter's a lil brown and she's tall and best student in her class surprisingly the kid that bullied her till Creator answered cries and that kids hand broke, was a Native half breed kid. When they hate on her, I tell her that they hate on themselves because they see their bad condition when they compare themselves to her, so they hate themselves and express it as hate towards her. Kids can understand that if you tell them on their level of understanding-if dog barks at you, you bark back?

  • this makes me laugh!!! the guy holding the eagle staff is like "i know this bitch aint tryin to lead!!!" then the handrummer gets a call from his mom, he says "mom, im jammin wit tha ndns, they luvin my leads, i think we're goin to gatherins to set up. call you back!"

  • LMFAO

  • The best wy to preerve tradition is to continuoulsy reinvent it...

  • Then what good is tradition if you reinvent it...that is why it's called tradition...

  • Blame the Christians who are hypocritical to their faith.

    Insha'Allah --> إن شاء الله

  • I do not blame the whites for everything. It is just that a lot of us cannot trust them so easily. Some of them are adopting our cultures and are learning what their fathers didn't understand. Toksha.

  • Maybe, if the Europeans hadn't shuned out our culture from us for a while. I mean they practically tried to make us ashamed of our heritage, but couldn't do it. Now here we are, still a strong Native people living life as it is, and still trying to survive.

  • we cant blame all whites.

The english did the same to the irish and scottish.

  • it is a beautiful culture...we can all learn something from it. i understand the notion of sacred knowledge, however if people took the time and actually cared, why not include people with European ancestry? wouldn;t the world be a btter place?

  • Ok, FYI the "Hollywood Indian with the hand drum" is actually Glenn Morris. He is a member of the Leadership Council of the American Indian Movement of Colorado.

  • That does not mean he knows shit about the culture or how to sing. Anyone with a brain knows that you dont drum on a hand drum than move your stick over and do honour beats on the big drum.

I could careless...he should stop being an idiot. AIM is poilitical first and cultural second!

  • you can't just drum to DRUM drumming has to come from the heart !!

  • AIM FOR FREEDOM

  • horrible, the lead , the second coming in like ok which way do we go how about the tail horrible if your gonna sing the aim song sing it right don't blame the whit guy w/ the handdrum blame the lead singer for not grabbing his beater and stopping him why post that on you tube it's horrible being a singer from a prominet east coast drum we have cd's etc just this song was meant to screamm cry so to say not be a lost where's the beef commercial

  • I agree the hollywood indian is a tart.

  • That Hollywood Indian with the hand drum messed it all up!

  • thats glenn morris, one of the originators. everyone on here needs to stop writing and fight for your rights. how come i dont see anyone from here out protesting columbus day?

  • i for one protest columbus day, the dumbass was looking for spices, being greedy, and wounded up here! so he got lost, yippee! really smart guy!

  • this song is the best song EVER

  • As a singer abd drummer of one of da best groups in modernpow wow country. I am appalled at the guy with the hand drum, singing trad songs while talking, than switching from the hand drum to the big drum to do honor beats! WTF is that! Drumming is sacred and special and thats not to say not to have fun, cause everyone that knows our crew knows we joke alot. But that dude is just wacked doing that, why not drum with everyone else if you wanna sing the song!

  • Great song! AIM will forever live on! Hokahey!!!

  • I like the honour beats *couch* *couch*...hoo waa. and whats with the white guy on the hand drum WTF...and the second lead was awesome.

    Good song though.

  • I dont know why the white people are so obsessed about out traditions. White ppl will never be able to undrstand the culture fully, this is not grey owl or dances with wolves. Our culture is very real and alive and I take offense when I see these white people trying to practice it! It is a shame and dishonor to us! They look at us and wanna be like the romantic indian they see of T.V, but its not like that, and even if it was..the whites will never understand it.

  • Thanks for posting this! It is great for lifting my heart when it gets down from the constant stuff the world piles on. AIM Forever!

  • Props and well wishes from a yucatec mayan in northern california. Our struggle is your struggle, all indigeneous people from South Dakota to Chiapas to Argentina.

  • Brings back memories of a struggle that I felt very passionate about growing up in the 70s. I was on the trail of broken treaties to Washington DC in 1976 (Bicentennial). The Aim song become so much a part of who I was and still am today. Feels good to hear and see the song again. Thanks so much!

  • Long live the AIM and may the Earth's desire fr justice be heard! I am a Shi'a Muslim but I have great respect and admiration for American Natives and the AIM. My prayers go to you!

  • This is the AIM SONG! A true Native Nations Anthem! Long live AIM and it's Warriors, men and women!

    Denise Bellecourt Levy

  • This is so beautiful...thank you, Denise, for posting this. It is so meaningful to many....

  • Denver AIM rocks!

Cool, theres a member of Blackfire singing there too!

    Respect!

  • hey Phana24JG,Phana24JG Fuck you you dumbass racsit skinhead fuckers quit fuckin hatin on Native American Music...go listen too your hillbilly bluegrass music punk-ass bitches

  • ahah phana rocks..

  • I will wait for intelligence, your right, so I conclude with..good riddence.

  • I is believed that Columbus was Jewish, and fleeing persecution, because of heretics who believed that after killing most of the cat population, then pigs; they decided that Jews were practicing a type of witchcraft and caused the second break out of the bubonic plague, but you probably know all this, considering how smart you are, but I do know that you are only public school educated and probably no further, just a bit of enlightenment..no charge.

  • there has been some assertion that COlumbus was a jew, but that possibilityis sketchy at best. he was most likely itialian or portugese.

  • Well I had much to say and only 500 hundred characters are allowed, so I tried to shorten it as much as possible without losing the point, but it appears worthless and useless, so I won't waste my time with the American trash.

  • Long live A.I.M. , without them who would combat the racist stereotypes like those of Phana24JG.

  • october 12 1492 will always mark the day when the massacre, rape, slave trade and theft began in America. Columbus Day is an insult to all of us and the consequence of an ignorant society. It should be abolished

    Ya'at'eeh

  • @huaso97 exctly you are most right. The begining of the massive holocaust of american indians

  • Lol, an OPINION, is personal taste, and YES RIGHT TO YOU, but in regards to the aesthetics which support such music, your opinion is wrong. LOL

  • Your opinion is just that, soley of your own personal taste, while many others hold this music as ideal. Also, are you indicating that posting negative messages about videos is "better" than what the people in the video are doing?

  • It amazes me that you are able to detect who has jobs, and drinks "fire water" through a computer screen.

  • A.I.M. song such a powerful song DENNIS BANKS one of the cofounders of AIM a man full of wisdom.

  • lets dance, lets go, lets show them what we can do to the world. We believe in native music. our brothers and sisters trying to show you back to our ways. We beleive in native music.

  • I honor and support A.I.M. Keep strong guys! Toksa: John Wind
