Think of it as using the first "tap" to push off/get your kong started, and then finishing off with a regular kong. In other words, use the first tap to take off instead of just diving into 1 kong.
unnecessary first tap? i think it helps to overcome a long obstacle with less physical strain. instead of doing one huge kong, you just break it into two smaller ones.
@AudienceKiller66 Do monkeys first. Just incase you don't know: That's a kong except you don't jump AT the obstacle but rather start out right in front of it. You jump UP and pull yourself over the obstacle in one fluid motion.
That'll teach you to get your knees close to your chest. Then you can start trying kongs as they are just the in-motion-version of a monkey. Instead of tucking your legs under your body you now stretch out further and have your hips higher. Maybe this helps.
