@krawallooo: Mein Kommentar zur 80er Schreibweise bezog sich mehr auf den Beitrag von yapyap, aber ich glaube kaum, daß Hindemith den Stumpfsinn der Arbeit, ganz egal, wann das Stück entstanden ist, darstellen wollte. Es handelt sich schließlich um ein Kinderlied. Da geht es wohl mehr darum, gemeinsam etwas zu schaffen, als jemanden auf die Tristesse des späteren Arbeitslebens vorzubereiten.

Bin viel zu spät geboren und bin gerade,auch durch "Verschwende deine Jugend" dabei, mich näher mit der deutschen Untergrundszene der späten 70er und 80er auseinanderzusetzen...
Beeindruckend, diese Energie die von dem Ganzen ausgeht...

palais schaumburg - hot spot of german early 80s underground Pt.2.! bassplayer timo blunck at last, who was also member of "Skafighter", which turned into "Die Zimmermänner". this band performs sort of intelligent social-critical avantgarde pop from 1980 until today. timo also joined the amazing "Die Nachdenklichen Wehrpflichtigen" and the successfull pop formation "Grace Kairos". today he is active in film music business.
there exits a historic bee-line from 20s 12-tone-technique, (musical revolution), hindemith, serialism, stockhausen to krautrock and palais schaumburg
no..here in this video its ralf hertwig.. who played the drums in PS from sometime early 1981 until 1983... before ralf, in the early beginning, fm einheit hit the drums and later in 1983 when ralf turned into being singer in this band, moritz von oswald played the drums until the bitter end.
palais schaumburg is more dadaism. theyre original from the 80s... and its fantastic how they (among others) actually made something totally new and different. if you look at all the "new rave" bands.. all of them just copy and actually do it boring and make nothing new.. which is sad. if i was them id be more interested into experiments!
an exception are the klaxons i think... i think they're good.
Dadaism as a movement existed, um 50 years before this and its musical incarnation at the time sounded nothing like this. This is much closer to the more artsy post-punk of the early 80s, like The Fall and perhaps even Bauhaus. A modern equivalent is probably Prinzhorn Dance School.
dada means: art is not serious. dada means: don´t use things for art, that you used before. everything is allowed. randomness creates new collages of words, music and so on.
i always thought dada goes pretty much hand in hand with punk... that dada was sort of the mother of punk. and that you can see and hear clearly when you listen to palais schaumburg.

palais schaumburg was the red-hot spot of german avantgarde underground! fm einheit who hits the drums in the beginning was also percussionist and singer in the ahead-of-their-time experimental punk band "abwärts" from hamburg. in 1981 he moved to berlin and joined the famous "einstürzende neubauten", creating their chracteristical metal sound. also member of "vladimir estragon" and producer of innovative drama and film music, a.e. he worked with controversal disputed peter zadek.
regarding ralf hertwig its interesting to know that hes in the filmbusiness since aeons now... writing scripts for film and tv. had his fingers in many successful german films... and i found out that he also had his fingers in the script for "verschwende deine jugend" (the tribute film about the NDW based on the book by jürgen teipel) where also exactly this PS song is used on the soundtrack/film, if i remember right.
you saw the film AND read the book? i guess there is no relation between them?!? :) but respect: what a well-founded knowledge, ralf was co-autor of the screenplay, right! before palais schaumburg he joined the guiding "front" from hamburg and the early german punkband "coroners".

ralf had more music projects:
holger and ralf even cooperated once more after PS!! and that with walther thielsch (who wrote the song "deutschland kommt gebräunt zurück" on the debut and who also sung in PS later)... the projekt/record was named "Hát Vói quê húóng".
ralf also recorded "bergtraum" with ziggy xy of kosmonautentraum. and many more that i cant recall right now. uff.
uff uff uff!!!? bergtraum? this point goes to you, i know bergtraum was a split of kosmonautentraum, but ralf... great. the EP is one of my favorite ndw discs. but it disappeared, i have to search.

there were collabotations before between thielsch and fehlmann; also fehlmann and hiller.. for example on the hamburger art school they were on. i have an record called "das ist schönheit".. it includes two lp's with compositions of the pupils, among them walther, holger and thomas..working together and alone on it.

Stimmt etwas... allerdings musste man damals so aussehen, um alte hippies und 68er lehrer zu ärgern, hehe... damals konnte man noch gut mit kurzen haaren schocken! ;-)

palais schaumburg was the red-hot spot of german avantgarde underground! fm einheit who hits the drums in the beginning was also percussionist and singer in the ahead-of-their-time experimental punk band "abwärts" from hamburg. in 1981 he moved to berlin and joined the famous "einstürzende neubauten", creating their chracteristical metal sound. also member of "vladimir estragon" and producer of innovative drama and film music, a.e. he worked with controversal disputed peter zadek.

regarding ralf hertwig its interesting to know that hes in the filmbusiness since aeons now... writing scripts for film and tv. had his fingers in many successful german films... and i found out that he also had his fingers in the script for "verschwende deine jugend" (the tribute film about the NDW based on the book by jürgen teipel) where also exactly this PS song is used on the soundtrack/film, if i remember right.

you saw the film AND read the book? i guess there is no relation between them?!? :) but respect: what a well-founded knowledge, ralf was co-autor of the screenplay, right! before palais schaumburg he joined the guiding "front" from hamburg and the early german punkband "coroners".

ralf had more music projects:
holger and ralf even cooperated once more after PS!! and that with walther thielsch (who wrote the song "deutschland kommt gebräunt zurück" on the debut and who also sung in PS later)... the projekt/record was named "Hát Vói quê húóng".
ralf also recorded "bergtraum" with ziggy xy of kosmonautentraum. and many more that i cant recall right now. uff.

uff uff uff!!!? bergtraum? this point goes to you, i know bergtraum was a split of kosmonautentraum, but ralf... great. the EP is one of my favorite ndw discs. but it disappeared, i have to search.

there were collabotations before between thielsch and fehlmann; also fehlmann and hiller.. for example on the hamburger art school they were on. i have an record called "das ist schönheit".. it includes two lp's with compositions of the pupils, among them walther, holger and thomas..working together and alone on it.

at hitlers times.. they were brown. germany comes back with a tan, of course... but if i remember right i even read in a sounds article that "deutschland kommt GEBRÄUNT zurück" is actually meant this way how i always understood it.
its hard to describe in words what i feel and have in mind when i listen to that song and follow the lyrics.

hitler was austrian. wörther lake ist historic austrian summer tourism area Nr. 1. so they get "braun" by "holiday" not looking over the brim of the plate. new for me is, that dada can have a obvious hidden meaning. at the age of 15 or 16 i thought: "oh, haha, another really weird ndw-song." now ... thank you for showing me the world. point to you.

ihr kennt doch sicher diese "hohe Kunst" wenn en Künbstler en quadratisches Bild hat das komplett rot ist.
